Spirit's Ascension-Chapter 67—Unwanted Attention.
"Uhhhh, me? Soul Mantra? How is that even possible?" Cole stuttered.
But Bryan didn’t bother dwelling on the matter, as he knew he couldn’t actually force anything out of Cole.
"I don’t know why you need to know now, but I will tell you."
"Yes, Soul Mantras sometimes advance with the Innate spirit but it only happens sometimes, not always."
"And that is one of the perks of Soul Mantras over Spirit Mantras,"
"Spiriters who use Spirit Mantras like you need to change their Spirit Mantras to stronger ones the higher they ascend."
"And that’s another perk of having Soul Mantras," Bryan said with a smug face.
Cole nodded continuously while he listened to Bryan’s words, his expression changing throughout the whole exposition.
"Spiriters with Soul Mantras are really lucky," Cole added.
"We sure are," Bryan responded.
"We are, then he must also have one," Cole deduced.
With that, the rest of the night went peacefully, and in no time the next morning arrived in a flash.
"Classes resume today; I can’t wait," Bryan said from the other side of the room.
Cole wasn’t feeling the same, though; he wasn’t excited about the lecture resuming at all.
He knew the things waiting for him in class.
"Entitled bastard," He muttered.
He stopped stalling and finally got up to get ready for the day’s classes.
Bryan finished all his preparation much earlier but was still ultimately delayed by Cole.
After Cole was finally done, the two of them finally went to class.
fifteen minutes later, they got to Class.
While they were in the corridor, Cole could feel the bustling energy from the class.
The classmates acted like nothing happened to their classmates, but Cole knew for sure that people would be missing.
"Really Heartless," he thought before planting his feet into the class.
Cole entered the class unnoticed, so there was no reaction from anyone.
"Thank heavens," Cole said softly.
But his voice was ultimately heard by a girl in the class, drawing her attention to him.
From one person to the next, all members of the class finally focused on Cole.
The air immediately changed from Vibrant and full to judgmental and irritable.
Cole knew what was coming immediately after, and even Bryan was well aware.
"Cheating Weakling," Some suddenly said from somewhere in the class.
Cole’s head turned fiercely as he stared straight at the student who said that.
The student was one of the more privileged ones in the class, so he was really prideful, and he believed Cole to be a weakling, so he didn’t shy away.
He stared back at Cole confidently.
"ohh wow, the 1-star cheater is feeling confident," Another person said again.
Cole at that moment was already extremely annoyed. Though he expected a response like this, he didn’t think they would actually say it to his face.
The words were hitting him deep as he heard people calling him a cheater after putting his life on the line and doing all of his hard work.
It was just like they threw all that into the trash.
To protect its image and also to regain some honor, the school didn’t tell the other students who it actually was and who took care of it.
They only gave a brief statement to the student.
"You can’t do anything to me; you are trash to me," the previous student said.
This was the tiny spark that ignited it all. Cole knew there would be heavy penalties if he did that, but he didn’t care anymore; all he wanted to do was just show that bastard his place.
Life energy was already spread across his body, ready to spring into action, when he suddenly heard a voice from behind him.
"Quiet, do you really think you can defeat him , do you really think he was placed fifth for nothing?" It was Bryan.
His voice was so loud it resonated through the class.
He hadn’t been with Cole during the battle; he knew how strong Cole actually was, so he couldn’t take it when those entitled bastards just dismissed him like that.
Bryan had a little bit of a reputation in the class, as he was nice to a lot of people, and they knew he was a 3-star, so no one really retorted.
No one except that same student. 𝚏𝕣𝕖𝚎𝚠𝚎𝚋𝚗𝐨𝐯𝕖𝕝.𝕔𝐨𝕞
"How can I not defeat a 1-star trash, and who knows who he bribed to get fifth place?"
Bryan was also now on the verge of erupting; he felt extremely disappointed by the thought process of the kid.
He had never expected people to be ignorant and even dumb before the matter could escalate further.
"Do you really think the Academy isn’t Just enough?" They suddenly said from the front of the class.
Sometime during their heated exchange, a lecturer had already walked into the classroom.
He had been staying at the front listening to them.
The kid had nothing to say; he kept opening his mouth and closing it.
"I didn’t mean that," he finally managed to say.
The teacher, on the other hand, wasn’t buying his words at all; he stared at him with an extremely stern expression.
"You didn’t mean that, but you said it."
"And for that you will be getting a 100 academic points deduction.
"No one is allowed to slander the Academy like that," he said sternly.
The student was shocked by the severity of his punishment; he had expected just some light problems.
But a 100 point deduction would be extremely fatal to him at the moment. He gritted his teeth while staring at the teacher.
He waited for the teacher to give the same punishment to Cole and Bryan since they caused a ruckus, but he was shocked by the teacher’s silence.
The man didn’t say a single word, only watching Cole and Bryan get seated.
The student’s annoyance grew even further; at that moment he was seething with it, but since there was nothing he could do, he temporarily remained still.
He could only shut his mouth and get seated too.
"I must get my revenge," he thought while he got seated.
Seeing the class regaining a semblance of order, the teacher finally felt ready to proceed with the class.
"Today, we will be discussing the classes of Spiriters," the teacher said while his eyes lingered on Cole for longer than they should.
