Spirit Soul-Chapter 208 Revenge
Yasmine, Beatrice froze on the spot while staring at him as if they were dreaming.
It was a nightmare, and their eyes dilated in shock as it took them a moment to realize that the scene unfolding in front of them was the truth!
They could barely see anything through the countless trees that obstructed their sight.
In fact, they only saw how twenty arrows pierced Kyle, flinging him backward due to the tremendous impact before he fell to the ground, and stayed there, unmoving like a rock.
His black robe soon turned bright red as a puddle of blood formed below Kyle's body.
Horror could be seen in the eyes of Yasmine and Beatrice while their faces turned pale the moment they witnessed what happened.
As such, they rushed towards the dome, only to be repelled by it the moment wanted to force their way through it.
The restrictions on the dome were holding the two women back from entering the dome, and rescuing Kyle.
This caused Yasmine's eyes to gleam vividly as the trait of her eyes had been activated to a degree that she had never reached before.
It was her worry about Kyle and desperation to help him that allowed her to break through her limits.
In the end, it ached a lot, but she gritted her teeth and continued to endure the pain in her eyes while she suddenly calmed down as her eyes focused on the black robes.
Blood trickled down her eyes, but Yasmine had become eerily calm which was noticed by Beatrice.
In fact, Beatrice had also noticed something that confused her a lot.
'I can still sense Kyle…and I don't feel any immediate lethal danger transferred through the blood pact. Does that mean he is safe?'
Even though both Beatrice and Kyle didn't know much about the blood pact, they had tested it a lot.
As such, their knowledge might be little but it was not nil.
Thus, Beatrice knew that she would sense if Kyle were to be dead, seriously injured, or even in immediate danger.
However, that didn't seem to be the case which caused her to calm down as she stepped away from the dome.
Yasmine was the same as she followed suit and stepped back before she threw a worried and confused glance at Beatrice, whose face mirrored the same emotions.
Both realized that Kyle's death would hurt them much more than they had initially thought which caused them to feel weird.
Yet, they had no time to dwell on the pessimistic thought as the entire forest, bushes and plants of various sizes began to shake.
Even the huge trees were not unaffected as their thin branches and leaves began to violently tremble as strong wind currents swept through the surroundings.
The tremendous wind currents passed through the entire dome before they began to revolve around the black robe.
Accompanying the wind currents, dried soil, leaves and some branches gathered around the body that laid on the ground.
It was almost as if Kyle had released his entire energy just before dying, giving the wind currents around him a last mission to fulfill.
However, their eyes were deceived and nothing was farther from the truth than what they thought was happening in front of them.
After all, Kyle was not dead, nor was Arashi injured.
In fact, both were perfectly fine, and unscathed if one were to exclude the tremendous impact that had flung Kyle backward.
But that was not something the three prodigies of the Aldra race knew.
They were looking at the wind currents that enveloped the robed man tightly with a sly smile on their face.
"Idiot…you used your affinity too late!! What's the use of using the last remnants of your consciousness to envelop yourself with some wind currents!?"
One of them was openly mocking Kyle, certain about his death as he was the one to have fired the last shot. free𝚠𝚎𝚋𝒏𝚘ѵ𝐞l.𝑐om
He was not afraid, at all.
And this was clearly visible!
Meanwhile, the other two prodigies remained quiet, and only nodded their heads grimly before approaching Kyle as ordered to ensure that he was truly dead.
Other than that, they were told to find out his identity after he had been killed.
After all, he could be a pawn of a certain big family.
If that were to be the case, the Aldra race wanted to know who was behind it as they had already figured that the robed man was neither a Nasga nor one of the ordinary demihumans. f𝒓𝗲𝗲𝒘𝑒𝚋noѵ𝒆𝗹.co𝗺
His face had only been exposed for a short moment when he had saved Alice, but during that time none of them had seen anything.
Yet, what the Aldra race's higher authorities had seen were Kyle's neck, his ears, and the back of his head!
This was not a lot, but more than enough to exclude him from being a Lohar, or Nasga, followed by a few more demihumans that could be excluded.
Thus, the Aldra thought that Kyle was one of their own, an Aldra, who had been ordered to forge ties with other races, by rescuing them during the Brawl.
It was a good plan as it didn't focus on procuring treasures.
Rather, it focused on the bigger picture; to befriend other races, higher authorities at that, and to create a long-standing business relationship with them.
If that were to work out, the family who befriended multiple other formidable families, and authorities of other races were to gain much more than what they would otherwise gain through a single treasure.
The Aldra race's authorities had already figured this out, which was the major reason for them to send out three of their prodigies after arming them with equipment not even normal prodigies at the Krysal stage would receive under normal circumstances.
However, even then, it was astonishing that Kyle had survived the shot of two special arrows, which had turned their efforts into a complete waste of a tremendous fortune on a single being.
In the end, this was quite annoying, but after the third shot hit Kyle even the authorities of the Aldra race couldn't help but sigh in relief, glad that the most troublesome unknown variable in the entire Brawl had been defeated.
Little did they know that Kyle had protected himself with the corpse of a Krysal stage beast that had been following the path of Strength, Pryr!
It was the corpse of a deer he had beheaded after Sven had brought it to him in order to let him devour its soul!
Kyle had forgotten to sell the corpse in the guildhall because the place had been too crowded to sell a few hundred corpses that he had stored in his Spatial ring.
As such, the moment he noticed that it was impossible to avoid the onslaught of 20 arrows that neared him, Kyle had instinctively accessed his Spatial ring.
Thus, a moment later, the headless corpse of the recently killed deer had emerged right in front of his body, acting as a meat shield while protecting his vital spots.
'This fucking arrow almost pieced through the hide of a Krysal stage beast?!?! How are they allowed to use that in the Brawl, fucking cheaters…'
Despite the protection of the Krysal stage corpse, Kyle noticed that the tip of the arrows had almost sliced at him, causing his heart to skip a beat.
He was enraged because Arashi had nearly been hit, while a few of the arrows had scratched his rather unprotected body parts.
Yet, none of them had hit him to cause any real damage.
Nevertheless, the strength of the arrow and bow had shocked him because it clearly showed that their lethality was on an entirely different level to that of the strength of the young prodigies that had used both!
It made him lose control over his senses because he believed that the situation would escalate even further if he were to expose himself right now.
Thus, with the help of Arashi, Kyle had released his control over the wind affinity seed and gathered the wind currents in their surroundings.
Both of them used everything they had comprehended about the essence of the wind, and by using the surrounding winds as their medium, they were able to prevent utilizing a huge portion of their scarce energy.
However, this was just the beginning of their way to take revenge on the young prodigies who had almost killed him.
Using dirty tricks was something Kyle disliked under normal circumstances.
Yet, he clearly understood that only the stronger could survive in this cut-throat competition.
And strength included the choice of weapon, projectiles, and even what kind of tricks one used while being in a perilous situation.
As long as one survived, the path one took to ensure his or her safety didn't matter.
Having considered Cultivation as a noble profession, Kyle had nearly forgotten how he had been treated by the Cultivators in his first life.
It had nearly made him laugh out loud as he pushed the deer corpse into the air using some of the wind currents to smoothly wriggle out of the robe that tightly enveloped the large corpse of the deer.
From a distance, it looked like the wind currents were trying to protect Kyle, lifting him into the air in order to prevent others from reaching it.
Yet, what Yasmine and some of the old men and women from outside the dome could see was something completely different.
Shooting out of the tempest that was slowly intensifying, a masked man alongwith an azure-colored beast on his shoulder, disappeared in the bushes.
This caused a commotion to occur amongst the spectators that had been watching the battle between Kyle and the three prodigies of the Aldra race.
Many of them had been observing others but then their attention had been drawn to Kyle owing to the loud noise the explosion of the second special arrow had caused.
Thus, the moment Kyle had been killed, some might have looked away, only for their attention to be drawn back as the tempest was forming around his presumed corpse.
Because of that, everyone was slightly astonished when they noticed that the masked man was still alive.
Yet, it was barely a second or two later that both Kyle and Arashi acted instinctively, allowing the wind currents to disperse in an explosive manner.
Maintaining the tempest of natural winds drained a significant amount of their energy, which they wanted to use for different means.
Tightly grasping the Starbreaker Katana in his arms, Kyle was ready to kill, while Arashi's eyes gleamed coldly.
After all Kyle had nearly been killed, if his body hadn't acted on instinct, protecting him with the corpse of a beast they had hunted before the Brawl.
Thus, the intent to kill emanated from Arashi, and also influenced Kyle, whose mind had been rather calm beforehand.
Yet, due to their innate connection both affected each other, turning them into beings that were eerily calm yet filled with the intention to kill.
Initially, when he had reincarnated, Kyle had not been too fond of killing others.
However, survival had taught many things, including the long period within the Razkadan castle, where death and gloom was the only thing he had ever sensed.
As such, the meaning of death had changed for him.
Some might even think that eternal rest could be seen as the final destination of every being's journey and something to look forward to.
After all, all mortal problems would disperse into nothingness, showing just how insignificant they truly were in the face of death.
Thus, Kyle didn't feel that he was wrong to let the three Aldra prodigies witness what death truly looked like.
With that in mind, he shot through the bushes with wind currents enveloping him, while the scattered tempest released the wind currents, making the dry grains of soil, leaves, and branches shoot in all directions.
Yet, if one were to take a closer look, one would easily perceive that the majority of branches and leaves shot toward the three young prodigies that were approaching the bloodied robe.
They had yet to sense any fluctuations from the robe that was now lying on the ground, unmoving and steadfast like a rock.
However, the closer they came to the robed figure, the weirder they felt, even more so after they were hit by numerous branches.
Avoiding them was quite difficult owing to the vast amount of mana they had expended in order to empower the special arrows.
As such, they wanted to leave the Dome for a few hours after making sure that Kyle was dead.
To their misfortune, this would never happen, and only when they reached the robe, did they notice that something was off.
The hind leg of the deer was peeking out of the robe, causing the three young Aldra to look at it with a blank faces.
One of them even looked at the robe in front of them, and rubbed his eyes, only to slowly understand that they had been tricked.
Yet, by the time they realized this, it was already too late.
Tens of crescent wind blades had been materialized by Kyle and Arashi, who emerged out of the bushes, advancing towards the three young prodigies without hesitation as they released the wind blades that surrounded the two.
Aiming for the young prodigies, they shot the wind blades while making some of them change their trajectory all of a sudden in a surprise move, attacking them from their sides.
This caused their eyes to widen in shock, only to witness how Kyle advanced ahead who appeared to be seemingly unscathed.
However, they had no time to come to terms with their failure as their weapons manifested in their hands while they prepared themselves for a fight.
They deflected the majority of wind blades, the youths noticed that they were much more resilient than expected, forcing them to use much more force than usual.
Meanwhile the few wind blades Kyle and Arashi controlled deftly never stopped moving, distracting the three youths, as all of them realized one thing.
'The moment one of the wind blades hits us, we are doomed!'
This was the bitter reality, and something they figured out quite easily.
After all, the wind blades could easily cut through their flesh, tendons, muscles, and bones.
Yet, what they had forgotten was the fact that the wind blades were not the only issues at hand.
Rather, even more, problematic were Kyle and Arashi, who had emerged in front of the closest young prodigy.
Whether it was a coincidence or not, the youth Kyle reached for first was the one, who had mocked him, the Aldra who shot the last arrow!
"Die for me, bitch!"
