Sovereign of the Ashes-Chapter 1650: Clash Again
At this moment, Feylis stood proudly atop the highest point of her space fortress.
The Verdant Flame Fortress represented the peak of Magus Civilization’s military deployments on this star domain battlefield.
The cost of this single fortress alone rivaled that of a world-class secret treasure.
By the time she reached the edge of the battlefield, Feylis had already activated her elemental body.
A surging storm of verdant flame swirled ceaselessly around her.
Compared to centuries past, her lawful aura had grown markedly more formidable.
Both Feylis and White Stella possessed immense potential, each on the verge of breaking their current limits.
White Stella sought to break through to Rank Six.
Feylis, on the other hand, was preparing to ascend to the peak of Rank Six. As a mage of foresight and wisdom, she had charted her path toward the overlord realm millennia ago.
Seiron, a peak Rank Six being bolstered by two world-class secret treasures, was no easy opponent. Yet, this challenge was just what Feylis needed right now!
Forced to the peak of Rank Six through external means, Seiron’s movements in battle did not always align perfectly with his own will.
Such an opponent was ideal for Feylis to hone her combat mastery.
Having clashed with Seiron multiple times before, Feylis was already familiar with his combat style.
As a result, she moved with increasing ease and precision during their exchange.
“Move out! Support the Magus Civilization legions fighting on this battlefield!”
Feylis raised her scepter and pointed forward, sending tens of millions of Magus Civilization troops surging ahead as they charged en masse into the stellar battlefield. 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖
The vast majority of Feylis’ forces consisted of elite knights and mages.
These core forces of Magus World far surpassed the sea race legions under White Stella’s command in overall combat capability.
Amidst the charging Magus Civilization legions, one figure stood out with overwhelming presence—a towering verdant flame giant blazing with fierce intensity!
This figure was none other than Gregory!
Over the years, his imposing aura and command of verdant flame laws had improved dramatically.
Indeed, through the wars of recent years, the elders of the Verdant Flame Faction had grown at an astonishing pace.
Before Sein rose to prominence, Gregory had long served as the exemplar of the Verdant Flame Faction and Feylis’ most accomplished apprentice.
This time, Gregory accompanied Feylis to the battlefield and effectively served as the vanguard.
Even before leaving the Shadowbat Civilization frontlines, Gregory had received a message from Lorianne, who was stationed near Blue Star.
Having learned that Sein and his group were trapped within the subspace secret realm, Lorianne hoped Gregory would keep an eye on her apprentice during his time there.
This Rank Four mage still seemed to view Sein as little more than a child.
In terms of individual strength, Sein was hardly inferior to Gregory, especially while wearing the Faceless Mask.
Fortunately, Gregory had always been obliging, patting his chest as he reassured Lorianne.
He carried a massive weapon blazing with verdant flames. Though it was meant to be a magic scepter, it looked more like a spiked mace instead.
Unlike most mages, who habitually opened a battle by firing a few long-range spells at their enemies, Gregory let out a furious roar, activated his elemental form, and charged straight ahead.
A dazzling trail of verdant flame shot toward the front lines, drawing surprised glances from many Magus World powerhouses.
That said, most of the Magus World knights and mages present had already seen Gregory on the Shadowbat Civilization battlefield. To them, such a scene was not too surprising.
Charging alongside Gregory were the law-wielding knights.
As a mage, Gregory had cultivated strong relationships with these frontline knights over the past years.
He had earned their respect not by crafting potions or magical equipment for them, but through countless battles fought side by side.
Feylis led the Magus Civilization legions into the fray with remarkable speed.
On this stellar battlefield, the Magus Civilization forces positioned toward the outer rear were under the direct command of White Stella herself.
The Arid Expanse World legions, meanwhile, were the force blocking the entrance to the ruins of the Eiyurant Papillon Civilization.
However, with tens of millions of troops engaged on both sides, neither side had truly surrounded the other.
In fact, their primary offensives were not even aimed at the same focal point.
Feylis arrived at the center of the battlefield, wreathed in a raging storm of verdant flame, and immediately ordered White Stella and the others to withdraw.
A battle between peak Rank Sixes was far beyond White Stella’s current capabilities. Feylis had also noticed that White Stella was already at the limits of her strength.
As Feylis charged toward the battlefield’s center, not a single Rank Four or Rank Five creature from Arid Expanse World dared to intercept her.
The earlier battles on the Shadowbat Civilization front had left too many of them acutely aware of Feylis’s terrifying power.
She was a force capable of confronting Seiron head-on.
Unless they received direct orders from Seiron himself, most Rank Four and Rank Five creatures of the Arid Expanse World had no intention of challenging such a formidable opponent.
Through previous engagements, Feylis had already added several more specimens to her collection.
That was the price those ignorant foreign deities had paid for provoking her!
Naturally, the Magus Civilization legions had also suffered casualties. No war was ever fought without loss of life.
Seiron watched Feylis coldly as she carved her way through waves of troops to reach him, and then watched just as coldly as White Stella and the other Rank Six long-headed, blue-skinned creature withdrew from the battlefield.
Those two were no match for Seiron.
Even though Seiron felt a powerful urge to cleave them both in two with a single swing of his ax, he ultimately forced himself to restrain that impulse.
Perhaps it was to conserve his strength, perhaps he knew Feylis would never allow it, or perhaps other considerations were at play.
In truth, Seiron was not entirely controlled by the Gallant Federation. Within certain limits, he still retained a sliver of free will.
Even so, he was ultimately little more than a puppet. In his pursuit of greater power, he had hollowed himself out.
To the mages of the Magus Civilization, Seiron’s fate served as a textbook cautionary example.
Feylis acknowledged his formidable strength, yet despised his judgment and conduct.
At the heart of the battlefield, the two combatants who had clashed many times before moved almost in unison, as if guided by a silent understanding.
Seiron swung his Lightning Ax, sending a direct strike toward Feylis’ cheek.
Feylis responded with effortless grace, wielding her scepter to unleash successive burst spells and layered elemental shields.
As the founder of the Verdant Flame Faction, Feylis had also undergone advanced body tempering, yet her fighting style was far less direct than Gregory’s.
Throughout the battle, Feylis relied primarily on her overwhelming magic power rather than her achievements in body tempering.
Violent shockwaves and raging elemental flames tore through the starry expanse.
Gradually, this region of space transformed into a forbidden zone where no life could approach.
