Chapter 69: Chapter 69: Is It Pure Liking, or Love?

"Really?" Cecilia Lynch exclaimed, "Evelyn, your big brother agreed to see you? When did this happen? Why didn’t you tell me right away!"

"It’s not that he agreed to see me; I just secretly saw him talking to Aunt May, and then, amazingly, we bumped into each other at school!" Evelyn Morgan’s tone was full of longing, "Even though I haven’t completely confirmed his identity yet, it’s almost certain!"

"Quite the coincidence?" Cecilia said in surprise, "What’s he like? With that dreamy look in your eyes, could it be... have things already progressed between you two?"

"The only progress is that we’re friends now!" Evelyn responded wholeheartedly, "It’s just a small step forward, but I’ve been waiting fourteen years for this!"

Seeing Evelyn in this lovestruck state, Cecilia felt a sense of relief.

Her biggest worry was that Evelyn would fall in love with Caden Lockwood.

Now that Evelyn’s big brother has appeared, all worries are minimal!

After all, Evelyn is utterly fascinated with her big brother.

"I just don’t get you," Cecilia sighed, "To love someone you’ve only seen once for so many years. Evelyn, you’re truly a passionate person!"

"I don’t understand either," Evelyn rested her chin on her hand, her eyes sparkling, "Obviously, there’s no connection between us, and for so many years, I haven’t even known a bit about him, yet I’ve adored him so persistently."

"Are you sure it’s love, or just an obsessive liking?" Cecilia both asked and reminded, "After all, there’s a difference between liking and loving."

Evelyn was stunned; she had never considered this question.

Is her feeling for this completely unknown big brother simple liking, or is it love?

She looked at Cecilia with difficulty, feeling frustrated that her brain cells were seriously lacking.

"Alright, stop overthinking." Cecilia rationally cut off the topic that could lead to distress, "Congratulations on finally finding your big brother. Whether it’s liking or loving, as long as he’s still single, you have the right to pursue him! Even if it’s just liking now, it might slowly turn into love!"

Evelyn nodded and then whispered, "But I’ve already... not... a virgin..."

"If it’s true love, those things shouldn’t matter too much, right?" Cecilia chewed on her drink straw, "After all, life has many unexpected situations and unavoidable regrets!"

Evelyn looked at Cecilia in confusion, sensing that when she said this, she spoke with deep personal experience and even a hint of intense sorrow?

Before she could delve deeper, an unfriendly female voice sounded, "Isn’t this my servant Evelyn Morgan?"

It was Eleanor Keaton’s voice.

Evelyn’s brows tightened; was Eleanor Keaton planning to keep on pestering her?

She turned her head and saw Eleanor standing there.

Today, Eleanor wore a pink dress, carried a white bag, and looked glamorous and chic.

Evelyn couldn’t help but check herself out, only wearing a simple tracksuit without any jewelry.

"So servants come to places like this to spend money, huh?" Eleanor continued, "Tsk, tsk! How about you call me ’noble mistress,’ and I’ll show you a bigger world, maybe even order some good food, what do you say?"

Just now, while driving out for lunch and waiting for the green light, she happened to see Evelyn eating in a small restaurant she looked down upon, and naturally, she wouldn’t miss this opportunity to humiliate her.
