Chapter 28: Chapter 28: The One Who’s Going to Marry You Is Me!

Upon hearing this, Evelyn and Eleanor were both stunned, looking at Caden Lockwood, thinking he must be joking.

The most bewildered was Evelyn. In one day, Caden had twice referred to her as his wife, which inevitably made her suspicious—if the same joke is told too often, people might just believe it!

"Impossible!" Eleanor couldn’t take it anymore and shouted, "Brother Caden, the one who’s supposed to marry you is me, it’s me!"

"Eleanor." Caden’s tone was full of warning.

Eleanor looked at Caden unwillingly, then at Evelyn in his arms, finding it hard to believe that Brother Caden, who never liked to make contact with girls, would have his hand on a woman.

But Eleanor understood that if she didn’t do something, she would truly lose this man she deeply loved.

"I’m sorry." Eleanor said softly. 𝒻𝓇𝑒𝘦𝘸𝑒𝒷𝓃ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝒸ℴ𝘮

She still didn’t dare to anger Caden Lockwood.

Evelyn looked at Eleanor, her lips curving into a bitter, cold smile.

Removing the hand from her shoulder, she glared at Caden, speaking coldly: "I am not your wife, nor your plaything, and certainly not your excuse. Please make it clear to your fiancée that I am not some uneducated person who would flirt with someone else’s fiancé."

With that, she turned and headed into the villa, grabbed her bag, and hurriedly ran out.

Caden’s handsome face darkened as he stood in place, watching Evelyn’s retreating figure, guessing that she must be crying now.

He still remembered when she was six, when he approached her as she was nearly fainting from hunger, she was still calling out for her mom and dad, crying pitifully.

Her parents had been gone for years, and in her heart, there must always have been intense longing!

"Brother Caden." Hope ignited in Eleanor’s eyes, "Did I do something to upset you? Tell me, and I can change! Brother Caden, please don’t leave me! Everyone says we’ll be together!"

"Eleanor." Caden’s eyes gleamed coldly as he glared at the woman disrupting his time with Evelyn, "For your brother’s sake, I’ll let this slide. But from now on, don’t show up in front of me again!"

Having said that, he took his car keys, glanced at the food on the table, and immediately drove off to chase after Evelyn.

Eleanor stood there, crying uncontrollably, clearly witnessing Caden’s disgust for her, feeling heartbroken and not knowing what to do.

Brother Caden didn’t want her anymore!

No way!

She had to find out who that woman was and make her disappear completely!

It wasn’t hard for Caden to catch up with Evelyn in his car.

Seeing her with her head down, every step she took was filled with embarrassment, constantly wiping her eyes, she was definitely crying.

With a furrowed brow and a heavy heart, he trailed behind her slowly, allowing her some peace to calm down.

Evelyn sniffled, feeling that it was unnecessary to be upset over the words of a crazy woman.

She just missed her parents too much.

Though life hadn’t driven her to despair, she often thought: If only her parents were alive, how wonderful that would be!

With a heavy sigh, she looked up at the sky, it was so dark, she couldn’t see many stars.

"Get in the car." Caden’s voice sounded in her ear, "I’ll take you home."

Evelyn was startled, turning to see Caden sitting in his car, his deep, fierce black eyes staring back at her. She rolled her eyes at him and strode forward, leaving him far behind.

Gripping the steering wheel tightly, he started the car and drove forward, lowering his voice as he reached her side: "Get in the car!"

That terrifying voice made Evelyn’s scalp tingle, she didn’t dare even glance sideways, continuing forward.

This man was truly frightening!

"Erin Morgan." The chilling and intimidating aura enveloped her like a tsunami, "Don’t test my limits."
