Slowly Falling into His Love Trap-Chapter 119: When Are You Two Holding the Wedding Banquet?
Her expression froze awkwardly, lips curled in an uncomfortable smile. Evelyn wanted to force a smile, but no matter how hard she tried, it was powerless.
Clenching her fists, she softly said, "What a coincidence."
"I was just wondering if you were still at school, and then I ran into you." Logan Shaw spoke gently, "Did you just get out of school?"
Earlier, he was playing the piano in the music room and saw her silhouette in the window. He thought he was seeing things.
He didn’t expect that it was really her.
Evelyn nodded, "Yes!"
Hugging her books, she felt a little guilty inside, standing awkwardly, trying to find an excuse to leave first, but her mind was blank.
Her eyes involuntarily drifted towards the music room, wondering if his girlfriend was in there.
That girl was indeed beautiful and classy; it’s understandable that Logan would like her.
For someone like him, she was indeed out of reach!
"What’s wrong?" Logan approached Evelyn, "Are you feeling uncomfortable somewhere?"
"No." Evelyn averted her gaze, her heart filled with a bittersweet burden.
If he cared so little about her, agreeing casually to let her marry someone else without asking about her feelings, then why show concern now?
He could completely ignore her like he did before!
If there were no expectations or hopes from the start, she wouldn’t be feeling this pain now.
"These past few days... have been... okay?" Logan asked.
Hearing his tentative inquiry, Evelyn sniffed, finally managing a difficult smile, "Very well."
Before he could speak, she cut in, "I’ve figured it out. It’s just getting married; it doesn’t matter who it is, I can accept it."
Logan sighed inwardly. He only heard about Caden Lockwood and Evelyn Morgan’s situation at the party afterward.
At the time, he wasn’t at the venue.
She must have suffered a lot these days, which is why she looks like she’s about to cry now!
"If you need any help, just let me know." Logan said softly, "I might not be able to help much, but I’ll do anything I can."
Evelyn couldn’t help but laugh, a laugh full of irony.
If this was Logan’s apology to her, she didn’t really want to accept it.
However, she couldn’t bring herself to hate him.
After all, all her feelings for him were just one-sided!
She always tried so hard to make herself more excellent because she knew the gap between them was too great.
Setting aside the grievance in her heart, she looked at him, but couldn’t suppress her curiosity, and asked, "Did you... give away the bracelet?"
After asking, she regretted it.
Seeing Logan’s expression darken instantly, she quickly explained, "Don’t get me wrong! It’s just that after coming out of the banquet hall that day, I happened to see you giving her the bracelet, and you... hugged each other."
She lowered her eyes, saying insincerely, "Congratulations, when’s the wedding, remember to invite me!"
Logan stood there, his hands clenched into fists, then slowly relaxed, dropping to his sides with a sense of dejection and sadness.
Hearing no reply, Evelyn’s heart tightened.
Suddenly recalling the piano music from earlier, it must have been played by him. The sadness in the music had only intensified.
Could it be that he and that girl had only been together for a few days and already quarreled?
"She accepted the bracelet and said it was beautiful." Logan shrugged, the smile on his lips fading without a trace, "But she didn’t agree to be my girlfriend. You saw us hugging, but it was just her giving me... a comfort."
