Chapter 105: Chapter 105: What She Did to Him That Night, Never to Be Forgotten

Evelyn’s whole body stiffened, turning back, she watched Caden Lockwood stride away with flair and arrogance, exuding unmatched charm.

She clenched her fists in frustration, really wanting to punch him a few times on the head.

But she had no choice but to listen to his threats!

What if he really pounced and "devoured" her?

She frantically scratched her hair, feeling like she was about to go crazy!

Why was she living such a nerve-wracking life?

After carefully preparing breakfast, Evelyn was too worried about being "eaten" to feel sleepy anymore.

Looking at Caden Lockwood sitting at the dining table ready to enjoy the delicacies, she smiled ingratiatingly, "Uncle, these are buns I made for you, with added cornmeal. Try them, they taste great!"

Caden raised an eyebrow, noticing that Evelyn indeed had a knack for cooking.

Whenever he ate her food, he never felt picky at all.

With a raise of his dark eyebrow, he asked, "Is your ambition to become a chef?"

"What!" She couldn’t help but laugh, "Your mind sure takes off in wild directions! Or is it because my cooking is too good?"

"Answer." He spat out the word discontentedly.

Her eyes flashed with a glimmer; playfully, she said, "If you say today’s breakfast is delicious, I’ll tell you."

Smirking, Caden Lockwood lifted his gaze and stared at Evelyn. Although her words were playful, she couldn’t hide the slight tremble in her voice.

She was worried he would use the excuse of a bad breakfast to devour her.

This woman often played such obvious little tricks—spending too much time with her, wouldn’t it lower his intelligence?

"Speak." He ordered commandingly.

She pouted, sitting across from him, picking up a bun, she took a bite, nodding in satisfaction.

"Because, I want to become a versatile woman, so that when I meet a man I like, I’ll have the confidence to pursue him boldly, right?"

Saying this, Evelyn’s eyes suddenly dimmed.

All her efforts were for Logan Shaw.

And now, she couldn’t have any more thoughts about Logan at all.

She didn’t even know how to face him anymore.

Every time she thought of him, it felt like her heart was being crushed by an army.

Just moments ago, she was bright and cheerful; suddenly, sadness spread across her face. Caden Lockwood lowered his dark eyes, guessing she was worried about not being able to pursue a man she liked.

This damn woman, there’s such a good man right in front of her, is she blind, can’t she see?

His good mood was utterly spoiled; only these chewy, sweet buns could bring him some comfort.

How strange.

After all, they were just buns.

Why did they make him feel so satisfied?

Especially thinking about coming home and seeing her, and waking up to her breakfast, made him inexplicably excited.

"You’ve done quite a lot for the man you love?" Caden Lockwood questioned, both inquiring and probing.

Evelyn smiled faintly, handing another bun to Caden Lockwood, as if ignoring his question, she switched the subject, "Uncle, can I stop repaying the money I owe you?"

"Reason."

Hearing his curt and cold words, her cheeks flushed a light blush as she hesitated, "You’re not...that kind of, there’s no... transaction between us..."

"You must repay it." He said coldly, "What you did to me that night, I...will never forget."

Her heart trembled heavily, "What did I... do to you?"
