Slime Leveling [Litrpg, Timeloop]-Chapter 193—Attention From Nature
"In the next stage, you have to stand on one toe and continue to meditate. And from this stage, nature starts to focus on you and will try to break your focus." Holy Sage Thalmyr's words carried a hint of coldness. "If you fail here, all your faith will be lost."
Giliberu, as per the sage's words, stood up while still chanting internally, his eyes closed, his breath calm and soft.
On the rock, he stood up on his right big toe and placed his left leg on his right thigh.
His palms raised up and pressed together.
He didn't even break his focus for a moment while doing this.
Plop!
A bird excreted, and its scat fell on Giliberu's head.
"If anything doesn't have bad or killing intent, your faith will not protect you." Holy Sage Thalmyr's warning was still remembered by Giliberu.
Despite the bird's droppings on his head, Giliberu didn't even feel anything.
He had lost all his senses over his body.
Sticky hair!—he couldn't even feel his hair, much less any change in hair.
The sun and moon came and went as usual.
The sun burned hotter than ever.
The grass beneath Giliberu turned black. The pond near him evaporated. The trees dried up. Leaves fell down.
Then suddenly, his body caught on a large fire. It surrounded his entire body, trying to consume him.
A golden layer covered his body, protecting him from the flames.
The ground cracked and turned yellow.
Zethia Country—
The crimson dragon, lying on his hoard of luxurious items, opened his eyes and glared at the sun from the window, far brighter and hotter than usual.
Princess of Zethia rushed into the dragon's room and asked, sweating, "Darling, what is going on? The water sources are getting dried up. If this continues, the country will have famine and a lack of water resources."
The dragon calmly rested his head on the diamond coins beneath him, closing his eyes.
He flatly replied, "Some sage is meditating near. His faith has invoked nature's attention."
"A sage? What does it have to do with us?" she asked, raising her brows.
The dragon replied, narrowing his eyes, "The atmosphere near a sage will experience massive changes. One day, fire will fall from the sky. Another day, the land would freeze. And another day, powerful lightning will fall from the sky."
He glared softly at her and continued, "Your country is very near to that sage. You either have to break that sage's meditation, or move your citizens, and all valuables away."
"Is there any other way?" she asked with a scowl.
Her dress stuck to her body with sweat. Tick, tick—sweat from her forehead fell to the ground. "Can you help us?"
The dragon paused for a moment, glaring at her with love-struck eyes; he replied, "Very well. Since it's your request, I'll fulfill it."
Whoosh!—the dragon transformed into a young human male, with short crimson hair, clad in a luxurious crimson-red suit.
He walked out and glanced at the sky. Raising his palm, he cast, "Majestic Draco Shield."
A light golden magic rune flared on his palm.
A transparent golden barrier shaped like dragon scales formed around the entire Zethia country, starting from the dragon's area.
The princess of Zethia took a deep breath as the heat in the atmosphere reduced.
She asked, wiping her sweat, "I had thought you would go to fight?"
The dragon just grinned and turned his head towards Zethia's front gates.
Holy Sage Thalmyr stood on top of the front gate. The sage nodded at the dragon and disappeared with a flash of golden light.
The guards below the gate and in front of the second gate didn't even notice the holy sage.
"If I went to battle, things would have been very extreme," the dragon replied, then pulled the princess of Zethia into a tight hug.
On the other side—
Giliberu's body held on against the flame, which grew stronger with each day.
The bright sun finally relaxed, and the flames on Giliberu vanished.
He stayed focused in meditation and didn't even sense the flames.
The skinny Giliberu's green skin had gained wrinkles all over his body, and it dried up, turning hard like rock.
The land remained cracked for weeks. Nothing grew. Nothing stirred. He stood unmoving.
Suddenly, the air grew quiet. Even the wind turned chilly. Then the cold arrived.
The strong winds blew. The wind had snow in it. The blizzard had arrived.
The dried-up ground turned cold as ice formed over it. Snow began to fall.
Giliberu's body turned blue with ice. Heavy snow piled up around him.
His entire body turned into an ice cube. Beneath the ice, a layer of golden barrier covered his body.
In a certain cave.
"What's wrong with this world?" the brown bear trembled, hugging himself for warmth. "Shouldn't it take time for snow to fall? And is it even winter now?"
The bear tilted his head in confusion. "My hibernation system is wrecked."
Days passed as the ice and coldness in the atmosphere grew stronger and stronger. Blizzard grew heavier.
One day, the coldness disappeared along with the heavy winds. The ice over Giliberu melted down.
Despite the ice, his skin remained like dead, dried skin. He was a wrinkled, bony goblin.
The grass on the ground started to grow back. The trees regained vitality, growing to towering heights ranging from 10 to 20 meters.
Thunder rumbled in the sky. A jolt of purple lightning suddenly rushed towards Giliberu and hit.
Zzz!
Golden barrier covered him, protecting him from lightning.
On the first day, it was only once, and with each passing day, the lightning's frequency increased, and at the end, lightning fell on him for the entire day.
Soon, the sky stopped resting. For two months, lightning fell without pause.
The lightning and clouds vanished as if it had been a dream.
Grass grew thick and waist-high; the trees grew to a hundred meters in the sky.
The trees bore sweet fruits, and animals rushed out, attracted by them.
The forest grew dense around him.
Vines crept across the stones.
A plant grew around a hundred meters tall near Giliberu, and its vines bound his foot and arms.
The green vines shone with green light, as his skin turned white, his hair turned grey.
His back bent, losing his power, Giliberu's hands trembled.
"His lifespan is getting drained?" Holy Sage Thalmyr muttered, narrowing his eyes. Glancing from a large tree nearby.
He yelled, "Why? Are you so strict with him, Creation Goddess? Why is nature focusing severely on him?"
He clenched his fists, muttering, "One cannot interfere in another's faith… but he will lose his life if it goes on. That tree is just taking lifespan and doesn't have bad intent; so faith won't protect him."
