Skill Extraction: Exploring Dungeons-Chapter 575 - 512 The Red King
This is a purplish-red space.
As Kane stepped through the entrance, the slate made of purple crystals under his feet jutted out one by one like a staircase, providing a foothold for Kane.
However, Kane maintained his normal human form, and ahead of him stood a three-meter-tall mecha.
The robot's appearance resembled a knight's armor, seemingly enveloping a robust male inside it.
In reality, its interior was filled with various mechanical structures, but it had bionic magic circuits within, with Youyou controlling the machine from the head position.
The armor held the rune key given to it by Kane in its hand.
As it moved, the armor's components rubbed and clashed, emitting a creaking sound. Yet, its gestures were remarkably natural.
If Kane didn't know that this creation was of his own making, he might have been deceived.
As for why Kane created such a machine, it naturally served a specific purpose.
Thus, Kane followed behind the machine, stepping on the purple crystal stairs beneath, spiraling upwards, one step at a time.
The brightness of the entire space was emitted by small diamond-shaped crystals floating around. Their light reflected off the surrounding walls, which were also made of crystals, transforming into a soft, pale purple glow.
Before long, Kane arrived at what appeared to be the central section of the structure, the widest part from before.
In front of him stood two humanoid figures made of transparent purple crystals.
Throughout the journey, Kane extended his senses and maintained Eagle Eye vision.
Thus, he immediately discerned that the two purple crystals in front of him were not living beings but artificial constructs similar to Red Eagle mechas.
They contained cores and circuits like those of Red Eagle, consisting of a purely magical internal structure.
These purple crystal humanoids were two meters tall, each arm holding a different weapon with their six arms.
The moment they saw Kane, their eyes glowed red.
Soon after, the machine in front of Kane, under Youyou's control, raised the rune key in its hand.
Upon seeing the rune, the red light in the eyes of the two purple crystal humanoids immediately turned back to purple, and they slowly lowered their raised weapons.
They then stood still, like statues.
Witnessing this situation, Kane remained cautious as the machine piloted by Youyou slowly passed through the center of the two crystal humanoids.
Confirming that the two crystals did not launch an attack, the rune key indeed proved very useful, avoiding unnecessary confrontations.
Beyond these two gatekeeper-like purple crystals lay a vast open space within view.
The walls of the entire space were no different from where Kane and others had been earlier.
All made up of large surfaces of purple diamond-shaped crystals, reflecting the soft, pale purple glow under the illumination of those floating crystals above.
The ground was also composed of flat-cut purple crystals, with nothing but a lake at the center, making the space exceedingly empty.
At this moment, Kane stood not far from the lake, able to see the straight streams passing through the surroundings near the lake.
The mild purple luminescence bathing the entire space rendered it exceptionally elegant and beautiful. Coupled with some crystal artworks scattered around.
One couldn't help but praise the Red King's good taste.
Kane walked toward the lake, and upon reaching its edge, he saw large rectangular crystals emerging from the water.
Seeing these crystals, Kane's eyes revealed a surprised expression, for there were objects within the crystals.
These objects were none other than seemingly intelligent life forms.
A demi-human with long ears, clad in armor and gripping a thin sword. The person had closed eyes and their armor looked as if it had gone through a fierce battle, battered and torn.
Sealed tightly within one of the rectangular crystals.
One could clearly see the objects inside through the crystal.
Around were others in similar conditions.
Humans, as well as those Kane encountered in the towns of Heideline, were present.
Kane even saw a Moon's Child among them, not the frail kind he initially met, nor those with reawakened bloodlines, but rather one in between, whose bloodline seemed to be declining.
With gray-white hair, and skin adorned with sparse light spots.
Her eyes, which could best indicate the bloodline status, remained tightly shut.
In one crystal, there was even a creature similar to the machine Kane had just created before him.
Similarly encased in tightly enclosed white gold armor, impervious.
The suite of armor looked quite battered and dented, yet it still enveloped the body seamlessly.
Looking further in, one could see four crystals aligned in a row.
If Kane was seeing correctly, these four crystals ought to be the ones Kreya mentioned, the very team that cornered the Red King into a duel.
Why Kane was so certain was because the people inside these four crystals were dressed very much like Explorers.
Amidst the equipment on one of the individuals, Kane also noticed the emblem of the Mist Council.
Beside them was a rare race that Kane had only seen outside.
On their head were a series of elongated tentacles, devoid of hair.
This was a race Kane had only seen in the Mist World, and even then, only a handful of times.
Their equipment was largely damaged, and the weapons in their hands were chipped and broken.
It was evident that they bore large wounds, with one of them having a broken arm.
These four were among all those sealed in crystals within the lake, the ones who appeared most gravely injured.
This showcased the Red King's penchant for displaying some of his adversaries sealed in crystal, a habit tinged with perversion.
"Ants, how do you find my collection?"
A low, chilling voice came from above.
Kane looked up slightly, seeing a crack form in the crystal ceiling above, as a huge crystal-like chair floated down.
On the chair, an effeminate man clad in a scarlet luxurious robe sat composedly.
Through some of the openings in the luxurious robe, one could see he wore a set of exquisite soft armor underneath.
Beside his head floated an object resembling an ornament, a purple crystal ringed by a semi-circular platinum metal.
This crystal floated within, gently rotating and emitting a faint light.
Below the entire object was a small cylindrical segment, with fracture marks at the opening as if it were the cap of something.
With one hand resting on his chin, he tilted his head to look down at Kane with disdain, as though truly observing an ant.
"Tch."
Seeing his gaze, Kane smacked his lips in displeasure, but inside he had already downgraded the Red King in front of him.
He observed the Rune Key in the hands of the mech piloted by Youyou and remarked, "Being able to snatch this Rune from those two trash shows you've got some capability."
"Don't you care about the lives of your subordinates?"
Kane questioned the Red King, floating mid-air.
Upon hearing Kane's words, the Red King snorted dismissively before saying, "If trash dies, then it dies. It won't be long before I pull them back for you."
Upon hearing the Red King's words, Kane narrowed his eyes slightly. It seemed that things were indeed as Yafus had said; the Red King intended to make a move to take out his brother, the Black Monarch.
Then the Red King glared in Kane's direction, saying, "Aren't you ants always in teams of five? Why only you this time?"
"Because you're the easiest to deal with, two of us suffice. However, your brother the Black Monarch is a bit harder to handle, so we sent an extra person over."
Kane teased the Red King above, his tone dripping with mockery and disdain, evident to anyone listening.
It seemed the Red King was infuriated to the point of laughter by Kane's words: "Hahaha, hmph, if so, then die."
No sooner had he finished speaking than he waved his hand.
The lake water surged, and the two crystal entities that had earlier blocked Kane and the others surged forward, along with more crystal entities falling from the ceiling.
The crystal entities rising from the water and falling from the ceiling were identical to the two they had previously seen within the vicinity, the only difference being the weapons they wielded.
Seeing the sudden emergence of a large group of crystal entities, Kane didn't panic but reached into the Void, retrieving a jade-like token.
This was the Commander's Seal, a golden item drawn from the Eternal Store.
As the light on it flashed, shadowy figures appeared beside Kane, one after another.
However, contrary to expectations, these were not Lantern Knights but Bonona, Kreya, and the Minotaur family, armed with bows and arrows.
The remaining ones were Abby, Rock, and several Dark Servants wearing white masks.
The absence of the previously mentioned Lantern Knights was due to this item's greater difficulty in usage than Kane anticipated.
First was the energy input required to project the shadows, demanding vast time and effort, increasing with the individual's strength until hitting a bottleneck.
Understanding this condition, Kane had handed the item to Kreya and the others, allowing powerful individuals to first embed their shadows.
Even so, only about a dozen of them managed to integrate their shadows over time.
As these shadows emerged, they directly engaged the surrounding crystal humanoids charging at them.
Though powerful, these crystal entities were no match against Kreya, Longbei and the others.
The shadowy figure of Kreya wielded a long-handled battleaxe and brought it down upon a nearby crystal entity.
The crystal entity raised all six hands, yet they were severed by the axe, which then cleaved into its shoulder, making a huge gash.
Seizing the opportunity as the crystal entity faltered, Kreya raised her axe again and smashed down, shattering the crystal entity completely.
These crystal entities were utterly incapable of withstanding even one strike from Kreya's shadow.
