Sinner System-Chapter 437: Kai vs Cleo (Part 4)

As Cleo’s injuries healed, I unleashed a rapid, drilling beam of Negative Energy towards her, grazing her right side as she zipped across to her left, tearing the skin around that spot to shreds, blood spraying out as she hissed in pain.

She stiffened as I shot towards her and closed in in the blink of an eye as I unleashed a sharp burst of speed with Negative Energy from my feet.

She swerved across as I whipped my blade at her chest, shuddering as I sliced through her collar bone, inflicting a deep gash just below her neck.

As her eyes began glowing, I swung my tail up, her head jerking straight up as my tail slammed against her chin, petrifying beams shooting out of her eyes and hitting the ceiling of the barrier.

I drove my palm towards her solar plexus, before her armor around her torso stretched out as she formed a turtle-like shell around her body, wincing slightly as my palm slammed against it and I fired Mana Pulse, before she slashed at my neck with her right scythe-hand.

Her eyes widened as I caught the curved blade between my teeth, before she shuddered as I unleashed several consecutive Mana Pulses, gritting her teeth as electrifying sparks began to form around her.

I swiftly flew back as an intense burst of lightning erupted out with a bright electric flash, narrowly avoiding it before a chilling wave of frosty air came shooting towards me.

I swooped down to evade it, firing out a barrage of Negative Energy blasts up towards her. She quickly stopped firing out the cold wave from her mouth and flew back as fast as she could, narrowly evading most of the blasts before one struck her chest and knocked her off-balance.

Her torso shrunk as she retracted the shell, which, while boosting her defense, had slowed her down significantly, she likely would have been able to avoid all my blasts otherwise.

I zipped down and activated Drain: Cloak again as she fired out a wide, blazing wave of flames down towards me, the white energy wrapped around me extinguishing the flames before they could burn me.

The flames began to fade right as I landed back on the ground, lifting my gaze as she swooped down towards me with a vicious, crackling mass of lightning charged up in her right hand, her left hand still in its scythe form.

She drove the lightning down towards me as she closed in, before whipping her left arm across as I caught her right wrist with my left hand, the lightning fading away as I tightened my grip and unleashed Mana Pulse.

My tail shot up and struck her left forearm, wrapping around it before her scythe-hand could reach the side of my head.

She started to open her mouth, before I swiftly jerked my right hand and tail down, pulling her down while simultaneously driving my knee up, striking her chin and slamming her mouth shut.

As I began to drive Desecrator towards her throat, she broke free of my grasp as lightning erupted around her entire body, the tip of my blade piercing the skin over the front of her neck, before she sprang back before the blade could plunge in any further, a trickle of blood running down, before the wound closed up.

This is starting to drag on. It seems she’s used most of the tricks she’s got up her sleeve, and her defense is impressive, she’s been at least partially evading and avoiding any serious direct hits.

And while this has become rather one-sided in my favor, she’s doing well to hang in there and avoid getting teleported out.

But I’ve seen enough...and considering that she still has to spar against Aria, I should end this before she gets too worn out and uses up too much of her time limit with this power boost.

Well, I don’t know for sure that it has a time limit, but I’m quite certain that it does. I think it’s been approximately five minutes since she transformed, and based on my own power boosts, she’s likely five, maybe ten, minutes left.

Hm...twenty-five percent should suffice...

I then shot towards her as she flew up into the air, trying to keep some distance between us, before I launched myself towards her with a pressurized burst of Negative Energy from my feet.

She arched back and lifted her feet slightly as I began to close in, a swirl of Negative Energy starting to form below the soles of her feet...but it was futile, her Negative Energy Generation was too slow, and lacking in intensity...

"<Obliterate>."

A bright purple flash burst out as I raised my left hand towards her chest, before she vanished from sight. I spotted her in my peripheral, as she reappeared outside the barrier.

I swooped down towards the ground, reverting to my base form as I landed, letting out a slow exhale.

I shook my head slightly as I adjusted to the change in mindset, before approaching Cleo as the barrier faded.

"That last attack was way too fast...there was no chance of dodging it," She sighed, her transformation receding as Aria helped her onto her feet.

"Yeah, it’s doable if you’re a decent distance away, but it’d take some serious reflexes and reaction time to dodge it at close range," I replied with a wry smile, before adding, "That transformation was pretty sick, by the way. Super versatile, and a significant power boost too."

"Mhm, at your full power, you’re basically at the same Power Level as I am with all my power boosts unleashed," Added Aria, patting her back encouragingly.

"Well, slightly lower, but the difference is pretty marginal. How long does that tranformation last, by the way?" I asked her.

"Ten minutes, and then a one hour cooldown if I fully use up the time limit, I recover five seconds per minute, or one second ever twelve seconds. I had a little over four and a half minutes left when I deactivated it, so if I don’t transform again, it’ll take a bit over half an hour to fully replenish the time limit," She explained, as she stretched her arms out. 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦

"You put on a pretty impressive showing, you should improve at a decent rate if you keep sparring against us. Your basics are pretty solid, so we just need to sharpen and refine your movements, senses and instincts," Smiled Aria, before adding as she cracked her knuckles, "So, ready to take me on now?"
