Chapter 808: 805: Becoming a Hunter (7)

"Who are you?"

Of all the questions and reactions that Rhael thought Corey was going to have the moment he saw him, he did not expect such a reaction from Corey.

Although he knew that Corey was an individual with an unusual and unsettling calmness in him, he did not believe that Corey would still be able to remain calm even when he was releasing his Tier 4 aura on him.

’There’s a massive difference between a Tier 3 and a Tier 4, and the difference is larger than the difference between a Tier 3 and a Tier 0.’

’Even if he’s talented, his body should be subconsciously trembling or reacting in any way to my aura.’

’But he’s not.’

As Rhael had this thought, his eyes suddenly landed on Corey’s feet, and he saw that his feet was constantly tapping the floor in a manner that seemed... nervous.

’So he’s nervous... He’s just very good at hiding his emotions.’

All of Rhael’s suspicions vanished at that moment, and he sat across Corey who still had the same indifferent expression.

However, Rhael saw Corey’s behaviour and expression as a facade to hide his nervousness.

Only if he knew that the sight of Corey nervously tapping his feet was just an illusion he decided to create so as to not create too much suspicions regarding his abilities and prowess.

Not like he would have cared if that happened though.

This was not the Underworld where there so many powerful people hidden in the entire Underworld.

"Hello, Ryan. Can I call you just Ryan?"

Corey smiled, and then he nodded.

"Yes of course."

’Since that’s the name I put on my Miracle Sigil Card... Ryan Reynolds.’

Corey thought with the corner of his lips curling slightly.

"My name is Rhael, and I’m here to give you your official Hunter’s Badge and rank."

"Before that, do you know the ranking system of the Hunter Association?

Corey nodded, "I do. But I’ll still prefer it if you told me about the ranking system of the Hunter Association yourself."

Rhael raised a brow and looked at Corey with a slightly suspicious look, but he chose to say nothing and complied.

"The Hunter ranks consist of Copper, Iron, Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Mythic. Copper is the lowest rank and Mythic is the highest rank."

"Apart from these six ranks, there are two other special ranks. Blacksteel and Miracle."

Rhael paused and observed Corey, but he saw that Corey’s expression was still the same and did not change.

’Hmm. Some people and even hunters don’t know about Blacksteel Hunters and Miracle Hunters because they are few, and are not really ranks but special titles.’

’So, it’s either he already knows about these two titles, or he’s ignorant and is just being attentive.’

Approximately ten seconds passed as Rhael had these thoughts, and then he cleared his throat and continued.

"Sorry about that. I was thinking about something."

Corey tilted his head but didn’t make a comment.

"A Copper Hunter has a copper badge, and he or she is a complete beginner. They’re usually Tier 0s, and they can only accept low ranked missions like escort missions, herb collections, act as bodyguards, or at most, be sent to kill a Tier 0 monster or beast."

"They are very limited to the services of the association, and what they can purchase from our stores are only the basic stuffs."

"The next rank are the Iron Hunters. These are usually Copper rank hunters that have proven themselves."

"Some are usually still Tier 0s, but they’re usually the talented ones that have maybe hunted a lot of Tier 0 monsters or beasts, or maybe they were lucky to hunt a Tier 1 beast, monster, or even human."

"Or it can even be that they completed a mission that is more difficult than what a Copper rank is meant to complete."

Rhael paused for some seconds to not only catch his breath, but to allow Corey to process everything he was saying.

Not knowing that Corey already knew everything he was saying.

"After the Iron rank, it’s the Silver rank. The silver rank is usually regarded as the dividing line between low ranking hunters and high ranking hunters."

"Silver Hunters are usually Tier 2s and Tier 3s. Tier 1s are sometimes promoted to the silver rank, but they’re rare and talented though. Tier 2s and 3s are the most common in the Silver rank."

"To get promoted to the silver rank, one must have successfully completed at least three silver ranked missions."

"Once any Hunter becomes a Silver Hunter, they gain access to an exclusive mission board that’s not in the first floor."

"Also, they are able to register their own hunter sub-groups."

Rhael paused, and then he exhaled deeply.

"Gold Hunters."

"Gold Hunters are treated with respect no matter where they are because they must have completed a lot of missions which would in turn grant them a reputation, and they are also seen as Veteran Hunters."

"They are trusted with kingdom-level contracts, and they may also be contracted by nobility or temples."

"Also, they gain a twenty percent (20%) discount on any item or treasure in every store that’s owned by the association."

"They are also allowed to enter special dungeons that are owned by the association."

"Also, they are usually Tier 4s, but there are some Tier 3 Gold Hunters. They are also very talented, and they’re usually at the peak of Tier 3."

Rhael paused once again, but this time around, it was because of Corey.

He saw Corey holding his chin with a pondering expression, and he was curious as to what was making Corey think.

’From the moment I started talking about the Hunter ranks, his expression remained indifferent. But now, he’s thinking?’

’Why?’

Although Rhael was curious, he didn’t bother asking.

However, if he knew that Corey’s current expression was because of the discount on items and treasures, he would definitely be stunned.

’I didn’t know about there been a discount for gold hunters. Hmm... That’s nice.’

’I wonder what the discount is for the higher ranks.’ Corey thought with interest.

He looked up, and when he saw that Rhael was silent and was staring at him, he frowned slightly.

"You may continue... Don’t mind me."

"Hmm." Rhael hummed, and then he continued.

"After Gold Hunters, we have Platinum Hunters."

"Platinum Hunters are purely Tier 4s, and they’re a core fighting force of the association. Every Platinum Hunter is known, respected, and feared throughout the Kingdom and even in the Haven Continent."

"They are usually given missions that are crucial not only to the association, but to the Kingdom itself."

"An example is killing dangerous Invaders that are in the Haven Continent."

Corey raised his brows slightly, but didn’t make a comment.

"After that, we have Mythic Hunters."

Rhael paused with a solemn expression, and a bit of awe could be perceived in his tone.

"Mythic Hunters are not only myths, they are legends." frёeωebɳovel.com

"They are capable of solo clearing dungeons that will require ten of me, and they have immense authority within the Association."

"Even His Majesty treats them with respect, and the Temple personally assigns them missions."

"There are only six Mythic Hunters in the entire association."
