Single Wish: Rise Of The Omniscient Paragon-Chapter 660 - 659: Auction (10)
"Aren't you a joke? Do you think you can outbid all of us with just 200 Shards."
A deep voice filled with mockery and arrogance resounded in the auction hall, and the gazes of everybody shifted to the room of the Martial Clan.
The man that spoke was a Tier 6 Elder of the Martial Clan, and although Anon did not know, the elder was the Tier 6 that almost caught him the moment he came out of the Evolution Center.
A wide grin could be seen on his wild face as he sat with his arms folded and menacing aura around him as he stared in the direction of the Supreme Sword Sect.
"If you really think that the arm of the Blade Monarch is just worth 200 Shards, then you pretentious sword freaks are definitely dumber than I thought."
The Tier 6 Elder scoffed, and without waiting for a response from the Supreme Sword Sect, he placed his bid.
"450 Immortal Shards."
Gasp!
Gasps of shock and disbelief echoed in the auction hall the instant they all heard the bid that was placed by the Elder of the Martial Clan.
Even Calista had a heated expression on her face when she heard the bid. Her breathing became irregular and with an excited expression, she mumbled.
"A good day. A good day indeed."
Even Anon was shocked by the bid placed by the Martial Clan.
The Codex was sold for 201 Immortal Shards, and every single individual knew that the price was way too high for the Codex despite what it represented.
To Corey, he expected the limit of even the elite organizations to be around 200 Immortal Shards because of the reaction of the Supreme God Empire and the Mortal Empire in the bidding war for the Codex.
However, he was surprised to find out just how wrong he was.
'If the Martial Clan is able to place a bid of 450 Immortal Shards, then how much money does the Supreme God Empire and the other organizations have?'
'How rich are they?"
'And what of the Mortal Empire, Darius Flint's expression when he placed a bid of 201 Immortal Shards for the Codex showed that the price was a lot.'
'Is the Mortal Empire going to place a bid also despite already spending 201 Immortal Shards?'
"500 Immortal Shards."
A completely different voice echoed in the auction hall, and everybody turned towards the room of the Divine Spear Sect.
"What the hell? Don't you dumbasses use the spear? Why the hell are you placing a bid on the arm of the Blade Monarch?"
"He used a bloody blade for the love of the Martial God."
The Tier 6 Elder of the Martial Clan stared at the representatives of the Divine Spear Sect with a baffled expression, and he was not the only one with a baffled expression.
Other people in the auction hall were also wondering why the Divine Spear Sect which clearly specialized in spears would choose to place a bid on the arm of the Blade Monarch.
"What we do is none of your concern. Let your money do the talking, not your mouth."
The Tier 6 Elder grinned, and then he laughed out loud before raising the bid once again.
"600 Immortal Shards."
Louder gasps resounded in the auction hall when the elder of the Martial Clan raised the bid by a whole 100 Immortal Shards.
A lot of people thought that the top-tier organizations only had a limit of around 200 Immortal Shards, but with the actions of the Martial Clan, they realized that the pockets of the top-tier organizations were deeper than they could even imagine.
Everybody also realized that if the Martial Clan desired to bid on the Codex, they could have. But for some reason, the Martial Clan was not interested in the Codex.
"Hahahaha!"
"Let's see if you still dare to bid, you spear freaks and you sword maniacs."
Updated from freewёbnoνel.com.
The Tier 6 Elder laughed out loud, but then a calm voice echoed in the auction hall.
"800 Immortal Shards."
The Elder's expression changed, and he looked in the direction of the Supreme God Empire. A vein appeared in his forehead and he clenched his fists as a calculating light appeared in his eyes.
"810 Immortal Shards."
Those from the Supreme Sword Sect also placed their bid, and the moment the Elder heard the voice of the representative of the Supreme Sword Sect, a determined light flashed in his eyes.
"900 Immortal Shards."
"950 Immortal Shards."
The moment the Elder of the Martial Clan placed his bid, the Guardian of the Supreme God Empire immediately placed his bid after, and the Martial Clan Elder's expression could not help but drastically change.
"Bloody bastards."
He mumbled with a malevolent light flashing in his eyes. He took in a deep breath, and was about to raise the bid once again.
However, just as he was about to raise the bid, a completely different voice echoed in the auction hall, and everybody was instantly taken aback because the voice did not come from the high seats but from the middle seats.
"1500 Immortal Shards."
Complete silence engulfed the entire Auction Hall the moment these words were spoken.
It took a while for everybody, including Calista, to understand that they were not hearing things and that somebody had truly placed a bid of 1500 Immortal Shards.
'This.'
Anon frowned heavily as he stared at the group that had placed the bid.
'The Temple of Flames?'
'They're that rich?'
Anon was not the only person that had this thought. Every other person had this thought, including the host of the event, Calista.
She looked at the high seats, waiting to see if one of them would place a higher bid, but none of them did, and Calista could not help but sigh in slight regret.
She truly wished that the bid could go on, despite her making so much more than she initially expected.
"Pope of the Temple of Flames, I have to ask because this is an extremely high bid and what you told me about your finances does not match your bid."
"Do you have 1500 Immortal Shards?"
Calista asked with a smile, and the Pope shook his head.
"I don't."
Calista smile remained the same, and she said nothing. However, the Pope continued speaking.
"But I have an item of equivalent value."
Calista nodded with the same light smile, "Alright then. But please don't forget, if you're not able to make a full payment, the Temple of Flames would become enemies with the Underworld."
"And I'm sure you won't want that for yourself."
The Pope said nothing in response and merely smiled at Calista.
Calista's smile widened, and then she gestured to her right.
"Alright, the Temple of Flames has won the bid for the right arm of the Blade Monarch. Let us go on to the last and final item."
