Sin System: Demonic Harem After Reincarnation-Chapter 237. The Beginning of the Conquest
Ulford, the Royal Palace.
Today, the Throne Room was nearly full after His Majesty had called for an abrupt summons. The seats designated to the Commons were packed but the same couldn’t be said for the Nobles.
Since the summons came in magical envelopes, the nobles had received them three days earlier.
Although Nuving province and Ulford in particular was at the center of the kingdom, those from the bordering regions still couldn’t make it in time. 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮
This could be excused. However, those near the province and in the middle areas had enough time to reach the Palace if they hurried.
As Averon looked around, he noticed that nobles from Nuving were all present. Those from Gaephia were mostly here as well.
There were some from Ardin and only four from all of Karsuda. Leading them was Count Leo who had a firm and earnest expression.
The other nobles and commoners were chatting amongst themselves, wondering why the King had called them in such a hurry. Their voices were like that of bees searching for a hive, incessant and noisy.
"Silence!"
The Royal Hand’s voice thundered through the loud hall, "You are in the presence of His Majesty, the King."
Hearing that, the chatting audience immediately quieted down and looked toward the throne.
Averon II seemed to have aged decades in just a couple of days. There was a sense of solemnity and agitation in the way he leaned forward, tapping on his armrest.
"Duke Ravenner and his family have been assassinated."
"What?!"
"This can’t be..."
"Who is so bold?"
Whispers spread out in the Throne Room as surprised and panicked faces glanced at each other.
Just as the king was about to speak again, two royal guards came forward and knelt.
"Your Majesty, someone outside is seeking an urgent audience."
As Averon frowned, one of his ministers scolded the guards in a scathing tone, "Has the head on your shoulders become too heavy? Can’t you see His Majesty holding a summons?"
The guards quickly looked down further and stuttered, "T-The knight outside has the personal token of S-Sir Bors!"
Hearing that, the minister was taken aback, and glanced at the king who cleared his throat. Leaning to the right, Averon sighed,
"Let him enter."
Immediately, two royal guards ran toward the front door and pulled it open, attracting the attention of everyone inside.
A cloaked knight entered through the doorway. One could only see bits of his metallic armor whose sounds mixed with his footsteps.
More whispers came. The majority of the audience wondered who it was while some nobles made their own guesses.
As the mysterious knight stood right before the throne, one of the guards began to unsheathe his sword.
"No." Averon raised a hand and looked down.
The knight then uncloaked himself, letting the scars on his face and the dried blood all over his armor be seen.
"Dear God..."
"Isn’t he one of the Lupin brothers?"
"Lord Marcin, I remember him!"
Astonished gasps resounded in the hall, as voices became louder.
The knight at the center of everyone’s attention knelt and suddenly announced, "Your Majesty, the enemy has struck first. They have killed my family, my brother. The House of Lupin has fallen!"
While chaos spread all over the King’s Palace, the situation in the dungeon was ordered.
Once Issac left, Jake listened to everyone else who wanted to report about their tasks. After that, he finally stood up from his throne and floated upward.
"In the past ten months, I’ve invaded almost every facet of Grimbow Kingdom. Now, the only thing remaining is to topple the royalty and take over this nation."
"We are at your service, master!" Everyone present got up from their chairs and knelt, shouting in unison.
Jake nodded with a sinister smile, turning his attention to the fairy who imitated Yunna while in the air.
"Erm, m-master...?" Lena opened one of her eyes, trying to maintain a serious expression.
"I want a dungeon outbreak." Jake raised his palm, using his authority as the Dungeon Master to awaken monsters on all floors.
Suddenly, a rumble could be heard as hordes of monsters began to move toward the upper floors.
"Guide them properly until the exit." Jake ordered Lena whose mouth was wide open.
Brimming with excitement, she nodded, "Yes!"
A dungeon outbreak was usually a catastrophic event where monsters would leave their resident dungeon to wreak havoc and destruction upon the outside world.
Usually, this would happen when a dungeon is overpopulated, most likely due to not being frequented by adventurers. However, a dungeon master or its fairy could also influence the monsters to head outside.
But Jake didn’t want destruction in the immediate vicinity of his dungeon. He wanted to use these monsters as troops for advancement towards the kingdom’s middle.
"Yvonne," He called the dragon girl who stood up.
"I suppose you can keep the monsters in check."
"Leave them to me, master. I shall direct them however you want." Yvonne replied with certainty in her voice.
Jake then turned to the 4th Circle elves and told them to immediately head to the Moonlight Forest.
"Meet with the dryads and gather the creatures that reside in the forest."
"Yes, my lord."
"As you wish!"
The corrupted elves quickly left the floor and likewise, others also headed out as Jake gave them orders.
Within half an hour, the spies and agents all over the kingdom received their orders from Jake’s core harem.
...
Sapphire Sea, several nautical miles away from Cheshire. The air was cold and calm in the morning. A pirate galleon gently floated west, parallel to the equator.
On its deck, tens of female pirates nervously glanced up at their captain who floated midair.
Suddenly, a flow of dense mana shot upward, and at its center was a dark haired woman who took off her eyepatch.
"Finally, 5th Circle..." Pristina raised her rapier, looking toward the outline of a city on the horizon.
...
Northwestern Fort, Borders of Sicax Kingdom.
"Lord Commander, there is a message from the capital city."
"My brother?" Bors stepped out of the military tent. It had just been two days since he rushed back after greeting the Archbishop.
These days, the neighboring kingdom was showing signs of troop movement, so he had to stand as a deterrent. What could possibly be more important than this?
"Here’s the letter, Sir. It has His Majesty’s personal stamp." The soldier passed the rolled parchment to Bors who immediately tore off the seal.
But as he began to read, this Radiant Knight’s expression turned grim. There was some redness in his eyes that the warrior on the side noticed.
"Vermins..."
"My Lord?"
"Abandon the post." Bors crumpled the letter and grabbed his sword. "We must reach Ulford as soon as possible!"
