SIGNING IN: BEING SHOWERED BY HEAVENLY BLESSINGS FOR FIVE YEARS-Chapter 822 - 820: DINNER DATE WITH RUBY
Chapter 822: Chapter 820: DINNER DATE WITH RUBY
She was nervous as she checked for the umpteenth if everything was organized perfectly.
It’s been a while since her sister visited her at home and they actually had a chat there. The last time, her sister came, she wasn’t there, but this time, it was different.
Not only that, but Diamond was going to bring a potential brother-in-law. How could she not be nervous?
Ding. Dong.
The doorbell rang, freezing her in place at the realization that her sister had just arrived.
’Take a deep breath, Ruby!’ she cheered herself as she patted her chest calmly to wash away any nervousness.
Moments later, she confidently walked towards the door with a smile and unlocked the door.
She pulled the door handle towards her and voila, the person she had been itching to see in person, appeared in her view.
"Sis!" she beamed brightly as she looked at her low-key sister who still remained beautiful, loving how she looked no matter what.
Diamond smiled back at Ruby, whose eyes were sparkling, and responded, "You seem happy!"
Ruby stuck her tongue playfully at Diamond as she opened the door wide, answering, "Seeing you, how can I not be happy?"
Diamond chuckled to hear that before turning her head to the side, gesturing for the other person to move closer.
Ruby nervously looked behind her sister, filled with indescribable anticipation.
She had never seen Gael’s photos before, although she had seen his mother. She didn’t know what he looked like and whether he was the kind of guy her sister would like. After all, her sister didn’t care much about money, since she was certain that no guy would be richer than her. The guys she would fall for should be taller than her and, above all, handsome.
So, what kind of man was Gael?
The answer to that was given seconds later when the man in question appeared.
’OMG!’ she exclaimed inwardly as she looked at Gael who was truly very pleasant in the eyes.
He was quite tall, and those glasses on him made him look heavenly. He was the lean type, without too many muscles bulging. Something about his face made him look a bit innocent. Perhaps it was because he was still young or whatnot, but after seeing him, she could now understand why her sister continued talking with him.
He ticked all the boxes her sister set.
"Hello, there!" Gael greeted with a shy smile stretching his hand towards Ruby.
"Hello, brother-in-law," she greeted flatteringly, hiding the embarrassment of gawking at him.
Gael’s eyes sparkled when he heard that. His smile widened as he responded, "It’s a pleasure to finally meet you, sister-in-law."
Ruby brightened when she heard that and happily chuckled. "Haha, the pleasure is all mine."
Diamond watched on the side. The two exchanged flatteries and chuckled helplessly as she entered the house.
When Ruby saw that, she shyly chuckled at Gael and said, "Let’s get inside, bro. Sis should be getting hungry!" her gaze landed slightly on the gift bag in his hand.
Gael smiled at Ruby as he nodded in response. "She should be!" his gaze shifting to the back of Diamond.
Ruby’s eyes sparkled as she watched Gael’s attentive side and how his gaze lingered more on Diamond and not on her.
She was satisfied with Gael, though she planned to continue observing him.
The two followed Diamond. The door was closed and everyone made themselves feel at home.
Once seated, Ruby started serving the dishes as she merrily chatted with the guests.
"Did you travel safely? What is it like living there? Don’t you miss home?" she was more interested in learning more about Gael than her sister and Diamond let her be.
Gael was very cooperative and answered as much as he could without feeling much pressure. He didn’t have anything to hide, anyway.
When food was served, Ruby joined the two and the three of them started eating the food.
As they ate the food, Ruby’s eyes continued sneaking, shifting between the two. She wasn’t sure if the two were dating yet or still sizing each other.
As she was busy snooping around, Diamond raised a glass of juice to her mouth and as she did so, Ruby found herself looking at her hand just briefly and the fork in her hand fell on the table.
Clatter.
"Ruby, what’s wrong?" Diamond asked worriedly her little sister, who suddenly had a little mishap with a shocked expression on her face. It made her panic and wonder if she had eaten something wrong.
Even Gael was a bit taken aback by that, as he didn’t expect Ruby to react heavily during a meal unexpectedly.
Ruby, who was being worried about, excitedly swallowed as she looked at her sister’s face, then her left hand before her gaze shifted to Gael’s left hand and her smile widened.
"You ... sis, are you guys dating?" her voice trembled as she looked at the two with pure excitement. She couldn’t hide it.
"Phew~" When Diamond heard that question, she sighed with relief, realizing that there was nothing wrong with Ruby except excitement.
Gael’s face also lit up when he heard that. He looked at Diamond dotingly but didn’t respond since the question wasn’t directed at him.
All that, Ruby saw it and she became even more excited.
"Sis, come on! Tell me!" she urged excitedly, blinking her cute at Diamond pleadingly.
"Hehe," Diamond chuckled helplessly at Ruby’s antics but still answered truthfully, "Um, we have confirmed our relationship. Greet your first brother-in-law officially!" and shamefully said.
"Pft!" Ruby was shocked when she heard that from her sister’s mouth as she wasn’t expecting her to actually say it out loud, ’First brother-in-law.’
She nervously looked at Gael, but she saw him smiling affectionately at Diamond as if he didn’t hear what she had just said.
Ruby relievedly sighed and flashed a grin at Gael, saying, "Brother-in-law, welcome to the family." Happy that her sister finally had someone to love and added inwardly, ’I hope you last longer than the last ones!’
After all, she didn’t want her sister’s relationship lasting only a few months before they were gone. They should last longer than that. She sincerely prayed.
Gael felt tickled by Ruby’s words. He loved hearing that so much. His gaze softened, and he even felt that it wasn’t so bad to be part of this family at all.
"Thank you for having me. I will be relying on you a lot!"
Ruby grinned at him, happy to hear that.
With the relationship out in the open, the conversations also changed and deepened. Ruby was having a blast, and Diamond watched from the side.
After the meal, Ruby cleared the table and while she was doing so, Gael put the gift bag on the table. When Ruby was done, she greedily eyed the gift bag. She might have money, but just like her sister, she loved receiving gifts.
She didn’t know told others that rich people didn’t need gifts. People expect them to be always giving and yet they don’t even think for a second that receiving makes them happy as well.
"This is a little something I bought for you. I hope that you will like it," Gael said smilingly as he pushed the gift bag to Ruby. ƒгeewebnovёl_com
Ruby squinted her eyes dramatically as she accepted the gift, making Diamond roll her eyes at how exaggerated the other looked, though she was quite curious about what was hiding inside.
"Thank you, brother-in-law!" she chirped happily as she took out the wrapped boxes from the gift bag.
Ruby excitedly tore the wrapping papers from the boxes before dealing with what was inside.
Inside the first box, there was a delicate watch from the A&L brand. When Diamond saw it, she was reminded of the watch he gave her. It seemed that the watches were bought on the same day and trip.
Ruby’s eyes lit up when she saw the watch and she lovingly looked at it before raising her head to look at Gael and gratefully saying, "Thank you. I really like it!" meaning every single word.
Gael sighed with relief when he heard that. His choices were on the spot. He was relieved.
The next present was a ruby bracelet which made the little girl’s eyes sparkle. Just like Diamond, Ruby loves anything that has anything to do with her name. Her favorite gems are rubies.
As for the last gift, it was a nice-smelling perfume which the sisters tested on the spot and both their eyes sparkled as they looked at Gael.
After the gifts were given and opened, time was also running out.
Diamond didn’t want to take too much of Ruby’s time since she still had to brush her notes for the exams tomorrow. Moreover, they had to drive back home.
So once everything was settled, Ruby reluctantly sent off the couple, with her and Gael to the front while Diamond was replying to messages on her phone as she listened to the chatter of the two in front of her.
[LON: So, did he come? How did it go?]
A smile was on her face as she read the texts from Waylon.
Her gaze couldn’t help but shift from the screen to Gael, who was busy laughing heartily at whatever Ruby had said before returning to the screen while inwardly thinking to herself, ’This can’t be considered being a scumbag, right?’ feeling amused at what she was doing.
Who made her heart so big?
