Chapter 1074. Apology

Sensing the increasingly tense atmosphere between his parents and Anna, Tobba quickly stood between them and tried to mediate, saying, "Don't do this, okay? We're all on the same side."

Tobba showed a big smile toward Anna, and then he walked up to his father's bedside.

He reached for the gun in Roy's hands while saying, "She doesn't really want to destroy the world; she just wants to go back home. Be good and listen to me, all right?"

The listless Roy's face was as yellow as gold, and he was too weak to overpower even an infant. In the end, he could do nothing but sprawl out on the bed and gasp for air.

Anna looked at the bloody bandages and chuckled. "I probably don't need to do anything—you won't last much longer at this rate. You can keep up the tough act. I wasn't planning on helping you out anyway."

"Don't say that, Anna! You can't just let him die. Can't you just take pity on a child less than a year old? I can't lose my father this young!" Tobba howled and stretched his arms toward Anna's legs, but the latter kicked him away.

Li Lu walked over and hugged her son. Her face was full of worry as she said, "Anna, please save him. We're all in the same boat. If you save him, won't you have one more ally?

"And you've dealt with my husband before, so you know his abilities are exceptional. We'll be a lot safer with him on our side."

Unfortunately, Anna remained indifferent. Upon seeing that, Li Lu decided to sweeten the pot, saying, "He knows what's happening in the IMF. He knows all sorts of useful information."

Anna looked at the family of three with resignation. In the end, she snapped her fingers at the clown and said, "Take him with you. This place is too cold—I don't like this place at all, so let's go back."

Fortunately, the trip wasn't in vain. She had picked up a family of three. Whether they were useful or not was yet to be seen, but at the very least, their numbers had increased.

Including Jackal, Olivia, and Gao Zhiming, they now had seven people.

Tobba finally breathed a sigh of relief upon hearing that. Fortunately, the argument hadn't escalated to the point of exchanging blows. He wiped away the sweat from his forehead and remarked, "Ah, the things I do for this family."

In response to Anna's order, the clown walked up to Roy.

Under Roy's astonished gaze, the clown removed his mask and placed it on Roy's face. Then, he took off his black top hat and placed it on Roy's head. In no time, Roy's severely injured body was under the clown's control.

He stood up, stretched vigorously, and removed the bandages around him to reveal a cut that stretched across his abdomen.

The clown flipped his hand, and a zipper head painted with fancy colors appeared in his palm. The clown shoved the zipper head at the other end of the wound and closed the zipper. Miraculously, Roy's wound closed along with the zipper.

"We must hurry. What he did is just a small trick, and it is only done during emergencies. We still need to find a real doctor to treat him," Anna remarked. She reached for the door and grabbed the door knob.

Before she could twist the door open, Tobba appeared out of nowhere and clung to her arm. For some reason, Anna felt like something bad was about to happen when she saw Tobba's ingratiating smile.

"Um, I need to tell you something. We can't just leave like this because we're being followed. If we walk out just like this, we'll instantly get recognized."

Anna lifted Tobba up to her face with one hand and smiled. "Why did you not tell Mask about something so important?"

Tobba looked uncomfortable as he scratched his head and replied, "Well... would you have come here if you had known that? You wouldn't come here, right? Hehehe."

Anna really felt like strangling Tobba to death. For the sake of his survival, Tobba had deliberately endangered Anna.

"Don't worry, I won't forget everything you've done for me. If anything happens to you in the future, I'll definitely risk everything to help you," Tobba said, making a promise while patting his small chest.

"Let's go. Tell me more as we walk. Who's following you?" Anna turned the doorknob and led the others into the hallway.

At this point, it was too late for further discussion. They could only move forward.

"It's a special Mobile Task Force, codenamed Sigma-61 'Wild Wolves.' They're highly skilled in tracking targets."

"Be careful of all animals in the city. One of their special abilities is to communicate with animals to gather intelligence from them."

Upon confirming the details about the Mobile Task Force Sigma-61 "Wild Wolves," Anna quickly decided on their next course of action.

Since they knew that someone was tracking them, Anna had no plans of brazenly boarding a plane with Tobba. Instead, she hijacked a bright red off-road vehicle and drove the others into the vast, snow-covered land.

The hood of Anna's down jacket covered her hair, and thick goggles concealed her eyes. The others were dressed in the same way as her.

"This isn't going to work. They'll catch up to us in no time. These tracks are too easy to see," Tobba remarked, looking at the tire tracks in the snow outside the window.

Just then, a wolf howl echoed throughout the white expanse. Clearly, their pursuers had decided to chase after them.

Anna pressed the accelerator to the floor, and her eyes gleamed with killing intent as she remarked, "I know. But we can't shake them off, so we're just going to kill them all!

"I've had enough of hiding and running away. I need to find something to vent my frustrations on!"

Anna glanced at Olivia and Gao Zhiming in the back seat through the rearview mirror. "You usually don't get this kind of opportunity, so you two should go out there and toughen yourself up."

The falling snow had gotten heavier, and the visibility had gotten so low that Anna could barely see the road ahead.

Meanwhile, they could still hear wolf howls around them.

"Are they bad people?" Gao Zhiming asked curiously.

"Of course, they're bad people. Those trying to stop us from leaving this place are bad people!" Anna exclaimed. The anticipation for the upcoming slaughter made Anna part her lips into a smile, revealing her pearly whites.

Boom!

The windshield abruptly shattered, and a hole appeared exactly where Anna's forehead had been not even a second ago. The bullet shattered the rearview mirror before phasing through her head.

Just then, a towering polar bear charged at them from the side, slamming violently into the vehicle. Despite its powerful charge, the polar bear couldn't overturn the car. Instead, it "melted" into the cabin.

Squelch!

Anna ruthlessly drove a sharp dagger into the polar bear's neck. A stream of hot blood spurted from the wound, drenching Anna's down jacket in a dark red hue.

Anna had quicker methods to kill, but she had chosen a more brutal approach. At first, she thought she could control her emotions perfectly, but she later discovered that she couldn't do that at all.

After all, she was human now; she was no longer a Dioite.

Humans ought to vent their frustrations whenever they were feeling repressed, or they would eventually find themselves grappling with a malady.
