There was no need to guess who this person was, there was only one other person that could be in this house.

After all, I didn't think that the former crown prince was someone that had the courage to cheat.

Though in the first place, he was someone that seemed to love his wife and daughter dearly, so it wasn't as if he would have wandering eyes.

This was the Great Witch of the Sea, Zyra and the wife of the former crown prince, the one that he ran away from his position to be with.

After coming down, she ignored both her husband and daughter to come over to Ariel's side to take a closer look at her. She didn't even hesitate to poke her head into the air bubble that was around us, but she didn't pop it.

This was an air bubble that was made with a god's power, so it was a powerful air bubble that kept most things away.

However, Zyra was one of the Five Great Witches of the Sea and someone who possessed powerful magic. It wasn't strange that she was able to make her way into the air bubble without breaking it.

After poking her head in, she took a closer look at Ariel before turning to look at me as well.

"It seems that the two of you made the contract not that long ago, so it doesn't have much power. Did you come here to find a way to break it or are you here for something else?"

She didn't beat around the bush and directly asked this question.

That was when Ariel hesitated.

There was a part of her that wanted to break this contract, but there was also a part of her that didn't want to break the contract since that was the only way that she would have her freedom.

If she were to break this contract and return to her normal form, there was no doubt that she would be forced back to the Merman Empire. Once that happened, the only thing waiting for her was another life of being locked up.

So she didn't actually want to break free of this contract.

The one that broke the silence was the former crown prince, "Scared of losing your freedom? That was what I thought in the past too, but it takes courage to grab freedom with your own hands. What you're doing now is just running from the problem."

Ariel looked at the former crown prince with a strange look, but he just looked at her with a calm smile on his face.

The way that he looked back at her showed that he had clearly been in her shoes before. It took a while, but Ariel eventually calmed down and asked, "Then what should I do?" "You know what to do." The former crown prince said with the same smile on his face. Ariel didn't say anything at first, but she eventually gave a nod to show that she understood. She turned to look at Zyra and said, "Then please break the contract for me."

A wide smile appeared on Zyra's lips, but it was different from the reason why the former crown prince had been smiling. The way that she looked at Ariel was almost as if she was looking at some kind of experiment.

It seemed that she was happy that she would get a chance to experiment with someone that had this contract.

With the way that she looked at Ariel, it almost seemed like she wanted to dissect her...but the former crown prince wouldn't let his wife do that to his niece.

All of a sudden, a small voice asked, "What is this contract you're talking about? Why am I the only one that doesn't know about it?"

We all turned to look at Dicus who asked this question.

Zyra was the one that answered and it seemed that she didn't hold anything back from her daughter.

"It can turn a mermaid into a human?" She said with wide sparkling eyes and an excited voice. The way that she said this was almost as if she had found some kind of exciting toy that she wanted to get her hands on.

But the former crown prince stepped forward to shut that down by saying, "Of course, there's nothing that's risk free in this world. There are other ways to turn into a human, so there's no need for you to take this risk."

It was just that it didn't seem like Dicus heard her father.

She seemed to be completely focused on this contract that Zyra told her about.

As well, she slowly turned to look at me as if there was something that she wanted from me.

Even though she was a child, I couldn't help feeling a chill run down my spine.

But her father saw this and also stepped forward to block her from seeing me.

As if she was amused by this, Zyra suddenly said with a smile, "This contract was something that the old mermaids used to do when they fell in love with a human. They would form this contract so they could stay with them forever as a bride."

Then in a softer voice that seemed to have a strange tone to it, she added, "Though most of the time, that ended in disaster."

That was the straw that broke the camel's back.

The moment that the former crown prince heard this, he immediately looked at me with a hostile look in his eyes.

The way that he looked at me was as if he was afraid that I was here to steal his daughter.

However, I really wanted to say something in response to that.

No matter what, I wouldn't lay my hands on a child!

I didn't know how he saw me, but that wasn't the kind of thing that I would do!

In a cold voice, the former crown prince asked me, "What did you come here for?"
