Chapter 851: Chapter 851: As the Worst-Off in the Family (Part 1)

The servant turned her head and saw Raina North standing behind her, quickly bowing and greeting, "Hello, ma’am."

"I just heard you mention Miss Golding. Hasn’t Melody Golding left yet?"

The servant quickly repeated what they had heard, noticing Raina North frowning with a displeased look on her face. They were instantly filled with fear and pleaded, "Ma’am, we promise not to gossip anymore. Please forgive us this time. Otherwise, if the butler finds out, we might even lose our lives."

Raina North came back to her senses, looked at them, and said, "Don’t let this happen again."

The servants, as if pardoned, thanked her repeatedly and left quickly.

Raina North took a deep breath and when she came downstairs, the three little rascals were already sitting in the dining room. After a night’s treatment and good rest, they had regained their energy, each looking lively and vigorous.

At this moment, the three of them were gathered around playing poker.

"I bomb."

Casper North threw out the last few cards from his hand with a slap, clapping his hands and cheering, "Won, won, I won again. Come on, Shea, bring your face over, so I can stick a ’king eight’ on you."

Casper North took a large ’king eight’ card and with a slap, stuck it on Shea’s forehead.

He looked at Shea’s face covered in white strips, gloating, "Shea, you better step up your game. If you keep losing, there’ll be no room left to stick the ’king eight.’ However, if you’re willing to pay, that’s doable. Considering you’re my sister, I’ll let you trade one ’king eight’ for ten thousand dollars, how about it? Isn’t that a bargain?"

"Get out of here!"

Shea slapped Casper’s hand away, rolled up her sleeves, and said defiantly, "I don’t believe it. I can’t keep losing today. Let’s play again, I must cover your face with ’king eight’ too."

Casper chuckled, offering insincere encouragement, "Good luck with that."

Shea huffed and turned to Baby Hawthorne, "This round, if you dare to go easy, Baby Raina you’re dead."

Baby Hawthorne wiped the strips off his face, helplessly saying, "I can’t help it, I have to show gratitude for his saving me. It’s just sticking a few ’king eights,’ it’s better than becoming Casper’s child bride."

Shea insisted she wasn’t comforted by that.

Casper glared wide-eyed and raged, "Are you saying being Little Master’s child bride is beneath you?"

Baby Hawthorne gave Casper a look as if saying, ’Do you even realize?’

Casper exploded angrily, "Damn it, Little Master will show you my true strength. Even if you don’t hold back, Little Master can still beat you. Bring it on!"

Baby Hawthorne hesitated and asked, "Are you sure? You won’t mention the life-saving favor when you lose badly, will you?"

"How could I possibly? Little Master isn’t that kind of person. At most, I’ll make you spend a bit, to pay for Little Master’s efforts to save you. Of course, given your status, to offer too little would be disgraceful, right?"

Even though he already knew how greedy his brother was, it never failed to leave him speechless every time he saw it. Mom never treated this brother poorly before, how did he grow so crooked?

Nevertheless, when he saw Shea, rolling up her sleeves in an ungraceful but still impossibly cute way, he suddenly understood Raina North’s frustration.

After all, being the worst off in the family, Raina North suffered harsh blows from all sides. It’s normal that he grew into a ’bent tree.’

Casper noticed Baby Hawthorne looking at him with full sympathy, and for a moment, he was full of question marks. Did Baby Hawthorne take the wrong medicine?
