Chapter 835: Chapter 835: Why Is She So Good at Seducing People? (1)

Claire Lowell snapped back to reality, only to find everyone in the hall looking at her with accusatory eyes.

Startled, Claire stepped back, but she quickly regained her composure, furrowing her brows and shouting in displeasure, "Why are you all looking at me like that? Do you intend to lay hands on me? Don’t forget, I’m the lady of The Dark Tower."

Normally, whenever Claire said this, people would look at her with a mix of fear and reverence.

But this time was different. Her threat was met with even colder and more distant expressions.

Without a word, they left the hall with their companions.

So many people passed by Claire without acknowledging her, as if she were nothing but thin air.

Her brows knit tightly, her face twisted in displeasure, and she nearly lost her temper as she lashed out at Kai, "What’s wrong with these people? How dare they take their frustration out on me and give me attitude!"

Kai softly replied, "Miss, they are probably venting their anger at you because of Master Rise’s situation."

Hearing this, Claire only felt more infuriated.

She had thought that the woman, whom she assumed to be just an insignificant waitress, someone she could crush like an ant, turned out to be Master Rise. Now, even those who had always been close to her seemed to be bewitched, starting to side with that vile woman. This made her even angrier.

Claire couldn’t help but curse, "Master Rise, more like Master Whore! Whore as in prostitute! Otherwise, why would she be so good at seducing people!"

In her tirade, Claire didn’t notice the discontent in Kai’s eyes as he looked at her.

...

Raina North and Elias Hawthorne emerged from the hall, each holding three little ones. The guards around them initially wanted to take the kids from them immediately, but were ruthlessly refused.

The children clung to them like stubborn little barnacles.

Raina didn’t force it; she looked at them, gritting her teeth, thinking it was better to hold them so she wouldn’t lose grip while disciplining them later!

These little brats were really too bold and in need of a good lesson.

Casper North and the other two shivered in unison, inwardly complaining about the eerie weather of The Umbral Zone—how could it be so cold this time of year?

Fortunately, Mommy’s (or Daddy’s) embrace was warm enough.

They snuggled in closer, their tiny arms holding Raina and Elias even tighter.

Once they were in the car, Raina realized the little brats in her arms had fallen asleep.

Raina’s face was dark, her chest heaving violently, clearly quite furious.

Elias Hawthorne, seeing this, was pained. He raised a hand to gently pat Raina’s back, comforting her, "Raina, don’t be too angry. At least the three little brats are safe and sound. Besides, it’s not a bad thing for them to have a little adventure."

Raina shot him a cold glare, snapping, "Shut up!"

Elias quickly shut his mouth, "Alright, alright, I won’t say another word."

Hearing this, Raina was even more infuriated: "Not a word? What do you mean by that? Are you suggesting we indulge them? You’ve been in The Umbral Zone for years, you know how dangerous this place is, with danger lurking at every step. They’re just five years old, and they dared to venture into The Umbral Zone alone. If it wasn’t for their luck, running into me today, do you know what could have happened?"

Raina recalled the earlier incident in the hall when she was drawn by the commotion and saw Claire, having Kai grab Casper North and mercilessly thrusting a dagger towards him.
