“Getting her out.”
Lu Yi looked at him oddly, not entirely trusting him, as he didn’t know Shen Jiangli very well.
Shen Jiangli caught his glance, as if seeing right through his thoughts, he said gravely, “You don’t need to doubt me. Haven’t I looked after her abroad for six years? Would I treat her poorly?”
After pondering for a long moment, Lu Yi finally nodded.
Exiting the café and getting into the car, as soon as they settled in, Han Manyin hurriedly leaned over Shen Jiangli in the backseat, unable to restrain herself from clinging to him.
She softened her voice and pressed, “Why do you want to help Director Shen? Are you and her really just in a superior-subordinate relationship?”
She knew she shouldn’t ask because he would get angry, but she couldn’t help herself.
