Chapter 164: Chapter 164 Don’t Provoke Me

Heyu Shen froze.

He was like this, his truest self, which relieved her, but thinking of the bone-chilling coldness in his words made her feel uneasy again.

She went to the Lu Family, of course she wouldn’t be compliant; she had said this from the beginning.

So she pursed her lips and remained silent, silently resisting.

Pei Yansi didn’t say anything either, just sat quietly smoking. He looked at her, yet it seemed as though he was looking through her at the emptiness outside the window.

Shen Heyu leaned against the car door, trying to keep as far away from him as she could.

The car soon arrived inside the Pei Mansion.

The elderly and children all went to bed early. When they arrived, the old lady and Yuexue were already asleep, and the mansion was quiet.

As soon as she got out of the car, Shen Heyu headed straight to her daughter’s room, planning to sleep with her tonight. The current Pei Yansi was too dangerous; every one of his actions and looks filled her with trepidation.

But she didn’t expect that just as she reached her daughter’s room, someone grabbed her wrist.

She turned her head to meet Pei Yansi’s dark eyes; they were tinged with desire as he said to her, “Go to our bridal room.”

Obviously, that phrase wasn’t simple. Shen Heyu wasn’t a child; of course, she knew what would happen in the bridal room.

But she couldn’t help asking, “Why?!”

Pei Yansi just smirked coldly, not responding to her question, and dragged her towards their bridal room.

Shen Heyu struggled and, upon reaching the door, clung to the door frame, refusing to let herself be taken in.

“I don’t want to go in!”

Pei Yansi turned impatiently, and seeing that she wouldn’t follow, he simply scooped her up sideways.

The scene felt all too familiar.

Shen Heyu’s heart leaped to her throat.

Pei Yansi kicked open the door of the bridal room and walked in with her, saying, “You’re always disobedient like this, no matter what you do, you always just brush off my words.”

“As soon as you returned to the country, you went straight to Lu Yi.”

Shen Heyu was thrown onto the bed, bouncing three times on the soft mattress before she finally stabilized. When she did, Pei Yansi’s entire body was looming over her.

His body was burning hot, and it made Shen Heyu very uncomfortable as he pressed down on her.

She tried to wriggle out from underneath him with her arms and legs, only to meet his extremely cold eyes, his handsome face filled with anger.

He leaned down and kissed her lips without another word.

Shen Heyu didn’t want to continue like this with him; she wasn’t in the mood at all, but she also didn’t dare to provoke Pei Yansi. She could only tremble and say, “Don’t treat me like this.”

“How am I treating you?”

Pei Yansi propped his hands on either side of her body, staring quietly down at her, intensifying the oppressive feeling that he naturally exuded, making her even more afraid.

Shen Heyu turned her head away, “Don’t force me.”

Pei Yansi pondered over this word.

Then his gaze darkened, and he reached out to touch her cheek, saying, “You’re disobedient, and yet you think I’ll just let you off?”

Shen Heyu didn’t want to look at him, yet she heard the sound of a belt buckle snapping open and her heart seized up with dread, knowing that Pei Yansi wouldn’t let her off today.

She had no choice but to soften her attitude, pleading, “I won’t dare anymore…”

Pei Yansi indeed paused, leaning down to gently kiss her lips, whispering ambiguously in her ear, “So you still will go to the Lu Family, to help Lu Yi? Is he that important to you?”

Shen Heyu didn’t speak.

This silence made Pei Yansi feel that it was indeed the case; sometimes, the lack of an answer was the answer itself. His gaze darkened with anger churning within.

He stared at her intently. In the darkness, her gaze wasn’t bright, and he knew she was merely scared right now, which was why she was adopting a tender posture and begging for mercy. But as soon as day broke, she would revert to her usual self.

Realizing this, the rage in his chest couldn’t be calmed. He genuinely couldn’t understand why Lu Yi was so important to her.

Along with the anger, there was a sense of powerlessness, a feeling of being unable to grasp Shen Heyu.

In the end, he didn’t do anything to her; he disliked forcing these matters. He turned over, laying beside her, and pulled her into his embrace.

He licked her earlobe, saying, “I really have no way to deal with you. Tell me, what does it take for us to remarry?”

“It’s impossible no matter what. You go against even my most basic wishes; do you still expect me to remarry you?”

“Are you referring to the matter with Lu Yi?” Pei Yansi’s anger, already present, was now uncontrollable.

She stayed silent, which was as good as an admission.

Pei Yansi gave a cold laugh, “Aside from that, anything else is possible. Just be obedient, and I can give you anything.”

Shen Heyu maintained her silence; what she wanted was not much, just the simple matter of letting go of the people she cared about.

Yet even this most basic request was something Pei Yansi could not fulfill.

Pei Yansi held her tightly in his arms and fell asleep. However, Shen Heyu had almost a sleepless night.

It was nearly dawn when she finally dozed off, but after only a few hours of sleep, she had to get up and go to the company.

Today was her first day at the Lu Family.

She got out of bed, went downstairs, and after washing up, saw Pei Yansi sitting at the dining table, with Yuexue beside him. He was patiently serving her food, watching her eat, and occasionally helping pick up any dropped morsels.

Upon seeing Shen Heyu come down, he glanced up at her.

Motioning for her to also sit down and have breakfast.

Shen Heyu took a seat as far away from him as possible, but received his cold warning. Hesitating for two seconds, she eventually sat beside him.

Yuexue had to go to school; almost immediately after breakfast, she left, the driver taking her. Before leaving, she sweetly bid farewell to Shen Heyu and the others.

With the daughter gone, the conversation between the adults could be more open.

Pei Yansi took a sip of milk, squinting at Shen Heyu, “I hope you won’t disappoint me too much today.”

What he meant by those words, Shen Heyu understood better than anyone—it was simply about her going to the Lu Family today.

She didn’t speak.

Lately, no matter what he said, she was mostly silent. Pei Yansi seemed to have grown accustomed to this and didn’t press her for an answer, but his dangerous gaze was fixedly on her.

Unable to stand such a look, she ate a few bites and then got up, wanting to leave.

“Hold on,” Pei Yansi called out to her just as she was about to exit.

She stopped, turning her head, looking at him in confusion.

Seeing him rise from his seat and slowly walk over to her, he leaned down to kiss her earlobe, “I’ll pick you up from work tonight.”

Shen Heyu frowned, stepping back to avoid him.
