Chapter 276: "...Words From The Wise."

"Do not deceive yourselves. If any of you think you are wise by the standards of this age, you should become "fools" so that you may become wise.

For the wisdom of this world is foolishness in God’s sight. As it is written: "He catches the wise in their craftiness";

and again, "The Lord knows that the thoughts of the wise are futile."

MamMon DæMon: "Last night, we discovered not only does that Yang Vessel have the ability to control a massive army of those aliens, both large and small variants, but also the fact we have someone of our own who can possibly defend our territory from his wrath."

Tristan is sitting next to his wife to be while they all discuss Katsu’s capabilities.

His head turns to the DæMon.

Tristan: "What do you mean?"

MamMon looks over at the scolding over protective man.

MamMon DæMon: "Why, she’s the most important person to the protection of Erinyes territory, dear Tristan.

This battle with your old pal, it’s not over yet."

She gets up from her chair and holds her hand out to Nephilim.

MamMon DæMon: "Please hand her to me, General."

Everyone at the table is curious from the DæMon woman’s words and even more confused while he searches his pocket.

It isn’t until the man pulls out from his inner jacket pocket the sleeping Princess in her pink, baseball sized orb that everyone at the table is dumbfounded.

Ichythis’ narrows her eyes at the sight of a young girl encapsulated inside the hard physical form of Seiõr.

Ichythis: "Is this some kind of joke?"

Nephilim hands the napping, protected Princess to his "Queen" and she holds the orb in front of her face, slowly twisting her wrist.

MamMon DæMon: "On the contrary, strong Ichythis.

This is an example of what I am referring to when I say Stephanie here can help protect and defend our territory.

This is just one of the many ways Seiõr can be used to protect others."

MamMon hands the orb back to Nephilim and he reexamines his newest responsibility while she explains.

MamMon DæMon: "You see, Seiõr was willing to go through mutual acceptance with humans in the first place, as a way of protection.

Now, there are multiple ways for the universal energy to protect what is sacred in this said universe with Seiõr."

She looks across the table at Stephanie.

The young, nervous, loving woman is afraid to make eye contact with her.

MamMon DæMon: "Those of us who are mutually acknowledged by Seiõr and those who also have the faith of others placed upon them, are the strongest with these protections.

There once was an entire island of Vikings, who put their faith and hope into two Seiõr users for protection.

The island was said to be impossible to locate for centuries until the Viking clan converted to other religions."

Tristan: "What are you saying?

You want Stephanie to protect our territory all by herself?!"

MamMon’s smile disappears and she looks across the table at the concerned young man.

Tristan can feel her irritation from where he’s sitting and looks down.

Tristan: "I’m sorry Madame MamMon, it’s just..."

He looks at Stephanie.

Tristan: "...I don’t want to lose her."

Stephanie’s lip quivers in a smile and she has tears in her eyes.

Stephanie: "Aww, Tritty."

MamMon sighs and next to her, Nephilim tries to reason with the Old Norse witch quietly.

Nephilim: "I can under your frustration with young Tristan Queen MamMon, but his overprotective attitude and assumptions are all from a place of love."

She takes a moment of consideration before continuing.

MamMon DæMon: "No, I do not intend to have her protect our territory alone, young man.

If you would all be so gracious in accompanying me to Erebus City, I can show you exactly what I mean."

On queue, the pitter patter of feet can be heard. Jamie and Pauline are once again arguing, bringing their dispute into the dining room area.

Jamie: "Dang it Pauline!

I told you I wanted the last bowl of marshmallow cereal!"

Pauline: "No it’s mine! Stop Jamie!

Trust me you can have the last bowl next time!"

With a full bowl of cereal in her hands, Pauline trips and the cereal goes everywhere on the hardwood.

The arguing pair from the quadruplets look at the mess in front of them, both realizing neither get to enjoy the fluffy, sugary marshmallow goodness. Tears form in their eyes and both start to whine.

Bethany and Stephanie both gets up from the table from instilled motherly instincts and rush over to help the crying girls.

Stephanie: "What’s wrong girls!?"

While the two girls babble trying to convince the older sister they were wronged, Bethany runs for the kitchen.

Bethany: "I’ll get something to clean this up!"

Awkwardly watching from the discussion table MamMon looks mentally defeated for the first time and slumps down in her seat with her head in her hands.

Nephilim chuckles at the true sibling scene and tries to relax the her with an anecdote.

Nephilim: "Haha.

The boys Arai and Maniae have been the exact same way ever since I took them in.

They can be a handful sometimes, but it’s fun having them around.

I’m used to being more soft hearted while taking care of young women, but with those young men, I kind of have to rough them up, in the way my step mom had to when I was being rambunctious."

Ichythis looks over while taking a puff from her cigarette.

Isfet, with her only available ocular sensor, is watching her pal’s suspicion closely.

From the living room, Peyton staggers in. He holds himself against the door frame and looks at Tristan.

Peyton: "Can I use your baffroom?"

The man of the house chuckles and gets up from his seat.

Tristan: "Man, you drank last night like you won a championship series or something, haha!"

Nephilim watches proudly as one of his top ranked soldiers selflessly puts an arm of the still hungover man around his nape and brings his guest to the bathroom.

MamMon DæMon: "Alright, fine.

Since we have time, is it fair for me to allow you all to get your affairs together before we head out and do the thing I wanted to do?"

Everyone comedically nods at her while doing "their thing" and MamMon sighs.

MamMon DæMon(thinking): *God I want to kill them all...*

[Outer Sanpaku]

Shelly lands on her two feet, Madame Fryer by her side and her blue eyes staring at the defeated challenger once more.

She removes her weapon from her teeth and footsteps can be heard running towards her.

She turns around but not prepared for a surprise Katsu hug.

Katsu: "You did it again Shell!!! You won!!"

Shelly is blushing, and then buries her face in Katsu’s shoulder, but not for long until...

*SLASH*

The sounds of close by glass shattering and the growing rumbles of destruction can be sensed.

The same tall city building Shelly had almost got launched into, gets cut diagonally in half down the middle and the sliced half begins to fall.

Katsu and Shelly both look up at the affects from another destructive force.

However, Shelly grows a huuuge smile on her face.

Shelly: "Katsu...

It’s not over yet."

Shelly activates her Mach 1 SanguineSoulSeiõrShield, covering Katsu in her protective coating as she pulls him to the safety of the cement tunnel.

They watch from the inside as glass and metal rains down about half a mile away from the underwater tunnel’s entrance.

The ground shakes and over 100 cars get engulfed in the destruction and dust cloud as the scene starts to settle down.

Katsu looks around outside and his eyes widen from the sight.

Katsu: "Shelly!

What’s going on!?

Where are those two guys who tried to infiltrate Sanpaku!?!"

Shelly: "I don’t know...but Katsu, I feel...

I feel a presence right now."

Katsu: "Now that you mention it..."

Once the echoes caused by the collapsed half of the building settle, Katsu and Shelly both walk out carefully to the grey and brown atmosphere around them.

Shelly, still covered in her Mach 1 SanguineSoulSeiõrShield looks back at Katsu with a worried expression.

Shelly: "Katsu, you stay back.

I don’t like this feeling I’m having. It’s nothing like how I felt before."

Suddenly, her azule eyes widen and Shelly snaps her head around.

From above, a throwing knife is tossed through the grey and brown "fog" and Shelly uses the Seax in her hand to deflect it away.

She looks up with a Below Sanpaku stare and from the clearing dust, standing on one of the broken beams of the building, is L’Orient DæMon and her partner, Jean DæMon.

The tall, built long legged French woman has both Zeke and Jeremiah knocked out over her shoulder while standing on the destroyed building.

L’Orient chuckles while looking down at them.

L’Orient DæMon: "Iiiikiiikiiikiii!

See I told you.

A little word from the wise, Jean.

Always make a good first impression.

Iiiikiiikiiikiii"

Jean DæMon: "Like, OMG! You are soooo cute and badass, Mizz L’Orient!"

L’Orient DæMon: "Don’t call me cute."

Jean DæMon: "Oop.

Sorriez..."
