Chapter 110: Zoram

Tristan and Bethany look out of the now open side of the helicopter. From the low flying level they can see people are walking around the cleaned city streets with the alien snow falling.

A few cars, pick up trucks, and delivery vans are driving around the city with working traffic lights. There are people in a park. Some are walking together in groups, some by themselves.

Bethany: "Wow! It looks like this city has barely been affected by an alien apocalypse at all! H-How?!?"

Tristan pops off his 2nd Stage eye and raises his camera. The flash goes off as he takes a picture of the open field park. The General of the Sister Mountains chuckles at Bethany’s question.

Nephilim: "Let me ask you something Ms. Bethany, how did the Egyptians build the pyramids? How was Wanli Changcheng (The Great Wall) built, even during their own invasion problems at their time? How have MOST of the greatest human triumphs against ’God’ been created in our existence, Ms. Bethany? Before science of course. We like to assume as humans, that we have become more empathetic to suffering and could never resort back to something so evil and sinful, but give the wrong person enough power and tell them they can’t do something."

Bethany bites her bottom lip in anger.

Tristan: "If that eye ability of Katsu’s is able to control enough Icemen and he can strategize well enough, he could possibly use the aliens to do the same thing..."

He looks at the broken building, most of the glass windows shattered and beams exposed.

Tristan: "... but better."

As they are landing on a heli pad, Bethany gives a playful smirk at Tristan.

Bethany: "Huh, I think I’m starting to understand why you don’t take any of my advances, Tritty. Is your engagement just a cover up for your boy crush on Katsu, kekeke. I had Iceman studies with him and thought he was pretty cute too. If it wasn’t for that ’Helicopter Harpy’ that was always over his shoulder, I would have made that shy boy into a confident man."

Tristan(annoyed): "Shut up! You probably haven’t actually talked to him if you think he’d been the one to fall for used bait like yourself. He’s got plenty of confidence and leadership to help make me realize I could keep up with Shelly and the other ’Beasts’."

Tristan realizes he forgot how great of a fighter Shelly is and how, even without an IceEye to assist her fighting potential, she was the top ranked fighter in the Academy.

Tristan: "The ’Beasts’. Shelly..."

Tristan looks at the polaroid picture in his hand and it is cleared. Tristan seems to notice something and looks closer, he then clenches his teeth in anger. From the image in frame, without any powers needed, a man can be seen almost like he is creepily smiling at the camera by accident, with leashes around a sad woman and 4 sad small girls, walking through the public park.

The wind from the air vessel blows Nephilim’s long and wide black hair.

Nephilim: "Trust me Ms. Bethany, I know my morals aren’t ’vanilla’ to most, but I have a really bad feeling, about how they run this place."

The helicopter touches the ground, there is an adorable black cat, with a yellow left eye and a right IceEye in 2nd Stage. She is slowly and gracefully moving her tail back and forth. Waiting with two military armed men in black business suits, purple ties with sunglasses. The blades of the helicopter slowly come to a stand still and the group of 4 IceEye users hops out, confused. Bethany sees the kitty and gets comically wide sparkling eyes.

Bethany: "Oh. My. HIII MS. KITTEN-KAT!"

She runs towards the black cat and the two men point their guns at her, making Bethany stop and nervously laugh with her arms up.

Bethany: "Haha. H-Hey, fellahs, I’ll let you both raise something else from your hips if you put those guns and your pants down."

Tristan angrily approaches the lusty lady and matches the room’s tone with a comedic punch to the back of the head of the liability.

Tristan: "I apologize for her actions on my behalf, sirs!"

Bethany: "Ahhh! Dick!"

Nephilim: "Tristan, don’t hit women...at least not in front of me, please."

Tristan looks side eyed up and down at Bethany, sticking her tongue at him over her new ’diplomatic immunity’ in the foreign city, rubbing her head.

Tristan: "I never have and I never will, Sir."

Together, they slowly approach the men protecting the cat with rifles.Nephilim in front, they stop 6 feet away from each other and Nephilim looks at the men.

Nephilim: "Good morning, gentlemen! I am General Nephilim of the 3 Sister Mountains, just east of here. Behind me are my three trusted mercenaries Silpheed, Tristan, and Bethany. It’s such a relief to finally find another society of humans that has advanced so well in these apocalypse times of suffering."

He holds out his hand but they raise their guns. Tristan and Bethany flinch, Nephilim doesn’t and Silpheed’s eyepatch gets a blue colored aura emitting from it. Nephilim puts his hand up to signal them to relax.

Suddenly, the tail of the black cat begins to glow white. The glow starts covering the feline’s entire body as it calmly sits there.Everyone from the Sister Mountains is watching without any blinking, as the glowing figure of a cat, begins growing larger and larger while also morphing into what looks like a human.

The glow begins to fade on the figure and soon the bright figure has turned into a gorgeous busty Middle Eastern woman, one yellow left eye and an IceEye in her right, with long orange hair down her back, wearing a tight black dress, cherry red lipstick and high heels.

Everyone, even Tristan and Silpheed are blushing at the incredible beauty in front of them. After her "transformation" is complete, the woman bows, exposing her incredible gold and diamond necklace between her cleavage to the guests.

Zoram: "It’s a pleasure to meet you all, my name is Zoram. I am the wife of Don Laban DaeMon and I’ve been ordered to lead you to see the Don herself."

Tristan and Bethany are both surprised and ask the same question at the same time.

Bethany and Tristan: "Herself?!"

While walking the city streets on Roronora City with the Don’s wife and her guards leading them, the visitors look around at their surroundings.

People with IceEyes are working their jobs, smiling, and talking to each other. However, there is not one human without an alien eye in sight. Tristan and Bethany are both scanning back and forth for one while Nephilim talks to Zoram.

Nephilim: "So, Mrs. Zoram was it? That’s quite an eye ability you’ve got there, what did you title it?"

Zoram walking with her eyes forward doesn’t look back to answer.

Zoram: "The ’Transmogrif Eye’." 𝑓𝑟𝑒𝘦𝓌𝑒𝑏𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝘭.𝒸𝘰𝑚

Nephilim gives a soft chuckle with his eyes closed.

Nephilim: "That’s clever. Does the Don hav-"

Zoram cuts him off before he can ask.

Zoram: "I would refrain from speaking about Don Laban, while she isn’t present, General Nephilim. My wife does not see it as the most respectful."

Nephilim: "I apologize for my rudeness."

Finally, they spot a human without an IceEye. A young man, however he is on a leash being held at the other end by a woman with a right IceEye buying ice cream from a vendor with an IceEye.

Woman: "Two, please."

She smiles and looks at her ’pet’. He smiles back.

Man: "Thank you, master."

The ice cream vendor hands one to her and is about to hand the second to the man the leash but stops seeing Zoram and her thugs approaching. The ice cream vendor quickly switches and puts it in front of the woman to grab, with the man’s arm outstretched to grab the ice cream.

Ice Cream Vendor: "Sorry, Ma’am. I’m only allowed to sell food to advanced humans."

The man’s head is down and the woman grabs it from the vendor and she gives it to the man with no alien eye.

Tristan and Bethany watch the entire act play out and then from behind Zoram, they shoot disgusted looks at the wife of the leader who’s obviously responsible for this blasphemy.

Tristan: "Why are there people on leashes?"

Bethany: "And why can’t they even buy anything without an IceEye?"

The click, clack, click, clack on the pavement can be heard and then Zoram stops and so do her men. She slowly turns her head and looks at the two young justice believers and with tears in her eyes and a cracking voice she softly responds.

Zoram: "They are not people, those are pets."

She turns back around with her head down, and continues walking. Bethany and Tristan looks confused from the woman obviously being upset. However, Silpheed puts their hand on Nephilim’s shoulder from behind him, knowing the General is in pure rage grinding his teeth and through his teeth growling and a twitching nose the Don’s name.

Nephilim: "Labaaaan...."
