Chapter 823: Chapter 823: Fu the Coward

Fu Shihan sent a message to Su Wanxin on his phone, telling her to go to bed early, but he himself didn’t sleep at all that night.

The next morning, he went to the company as usual and was busy until almost noon when the internal line on his desk rang. He heard the secretary say—

"President Fu, someone from the Su Group is here to see you."

The Su Family?

Fu Shihan raised an eyebrow. "Let them in."

After a moment, there was a knock on the office door. Fu Shihan looked up and saw Chen Lei and another man who looked somewhat familiar, but not too familiar, entering.

The two greeted Fu Shihan, and Chen Lei looked at him with an awkward and conflicted expression.

Seeing his reaction, Fu Shihan glanced him up and down before asking, "Feeling bad about betraying President Su and jumping ship over to me?"

"Of course not!" Chen Lei quickly denied, "President Fu, you see... is there any possibility of continuing with those projects we previously collaborated on with your company?"

Earlier, he had axed several of the Su Family’s projects in one go. Chen Lei had mentioned this to Su Wanxin, who had a completely indifferent attitude towards it.

But while the boss didn’t care, the product manager couldn’t handle it.

The man standing behind Chen Lei now was the product manager who had been driven to tears by Fu Shihan.

A man in his thirties, he had recently been given quite a fright by Fu Shihan, so now seeing him in person, he felt an immense pressure and inexplicably wanted to shake with fear.

He couldn’t let go of those projects, after all the hard work for several months.

So during the early meeting this morning, he brought it up with Su Wanxin again, hoping she would do them a favor and talk to Fu Shihan.

Unexpectedly, after a moment of silence, Su Wanxin told him to come over himself. She even said that if Fu Shihan still refused to sign, she would call her.

So, he dragged Chen Lei along, mustering all the courage he could.

"Projects?" Fu Shihan thought for a moment and asked, "Did President Su send you?"

Chen Lei: ...Not really.

Our President Su said she truly didn’t want those projects that much anymore.

But is this something he should really say?

"Our President Su said... if President Fu still doesn’t plan to sign, then we should give her a call."

Thinking it over, Chen Lei cleverly answered. Fu Shihan, upon hearing this, eyes lit up. "I’m not signing, go ahead and call her."

Chen Lei had anticipated this response, so he lowered his head, sighed quietly, took out his phone, and dialed Su Wanxin’s number.

At this moment, Su Wanxin was reviewing data at Hua Zheng, busy to the point her head was about to explode.

Answering the phone and hearing Chen Lei say that Fu Shihan was causing trouble again, she rolled her eyes and said, "Give the phone to him."

Su Wanxin had only just found out this morning that Fu Shihan had shut down five of her projects in total.

While she wasn’t particularly concerned, her product manager had been counting on the bonus from these projects to send his son abroad for studies this year.

But Fu Shihan had shattered that dream with a single blow.

If there was an issue with the whole project, she wouldn’t have anything to say. The key was that there was nothing wrong with the entire project process; he was entirely throwing a tantrum.

Obediently, Chen Lei handed over the phone, and Fu Shihan took it, barely saying "Hello" when he heard Su Wanxin say—

"Can you behave like a human, please? Our product manager is so distressed by you that he needs to see a psychologist. If you don’t sign, I’ll take off the ring."

"...I’ll sign."

Chen Lei and his companion exchanged puzzled looks, not knowing what Su Wanxin said that made Fu Shihan immediately change his tune and promptly sign with a flourish, restarting the five projects.
