Chapter 172: Chapter 174: Come Here, Set the Table

Su Xingyu raised her eyes to look at him, noticing his refined features. Though he was called "Luohua" and "the elder," he appeared somewhat innocent. He wore neat short hair and dressed in a white T-shirt and faded blue jeans. If encountered suddenly on the street, Su Xingyu would definitely think he was just an ordinary college student.

She stood up and said to him, "Hello, elder, please guide me."

Fang Luohua smiled, his clear eyes shimmering as if with scattered sunlight, "Don’t be so formal, just call me Luohua like Anna does. Don’t be fooled by my youthful looks; I’m definitely older than you."

Su Xingyu also smiled and corrected herself, "Luohua." Interacting with him seemed rather easy, not at all like the tense atmosphere with Zhuang Heng and Yun Xi, which relaxed her nerves since joining the company.

Fang Luohua pointed to the camera on the table, "Anna mentioned it, right? For the next few days, our task is camera testing. Camera tests usually involve several indicators like aperture range, shutter speed, sensor size suitability, handling and ease of operation, portability, and so on..."

He was explaining in detail to Su Xingyu, who was listening intently.

Suddenly, someone from the corridor called him, "Luohua! Come over here."

They turned around, and the person called again, "Hurry up, Miss Zhuang needs your help for something."

"It wouldn’t be carrying equipment again, would it." Fang Luohua grumbled, clearly used to helping Zhuang Heng with such things. He stood up and said to Su Xingyu, "Try to understand what I said just now, the rest I’ll tell you when I get back."

Su Xingyu couldn’t help but furrow her brow; Zhuang Heng, again Zhuang Heng.

Is this Miss Zhuang really so popular at the company? Is everyone so kind to her?

Feeling a bit distracted, she lowered her head, slowly turned on the test camera, and felt its handling. It was Hengxing’s latest model, naturally feeling quite good, different from the one she won in the street photography contest. Several things must have been adjusted, significantly improved. She gradually became engaged, gained interest, and took the camera from the office to try shooting.

First testing indoor light, then outdoor light, capturing shots, sunset, long night shots...

Without realizing it, a day passed.

She got hooked on taking pictures, and the next day, got up early to capture the dawn, busying herself before heading to the company.

The photographers at the photography center were always busy with their own things, unlike regular office workers who sat at desks all day. It was rare to have everyone gathered here. When she arrived, only a few people were around, and she couldn’t find Fang Luohua after searching around.

Anna was there.

She asked Anna, "Where’s Fang Luohua? Yesterday, he left without finishing explaining to me."

Anna replied, "He went with Miss Zhuang to Hengxing Building for a shoot. The equipment was too heavy for Miss Zhuang to carry, so she often brings Luohua along. But don’t think she’s bullying Luohua, Miss Zhuang is an elite photographer; even a few casual tips during a shoot can benefit Luohua greatly." After a pause, she laughed, "Many of our photographers like to learn from Miss Zhuang—Xingyu, if you’re interested, you could help Miss Zhuang too, she’d be glad to teach you."

Su Xingyu said, "Not interested."

She wasn’t going to seek Zhuang Heng out, she wasn’t desperate to be mistreated.

Anna misunderstood her meaning, "Don’t be shy, even if you’re a beginner, Miss Zhuang treats everyone equally."

Su Xingyu grinded her teeth, "Thanks for reminding me I’m still a beginner." She had become more familiar with Anna over the days, allowing her speech to gradually loosen up, so she changed the topic, "But yesterday, Luohua didn’t finish explaining before leaving, now I’m not sure if I’ve accomplished all the necessary tests. Could you find someone to confirm for me?"

"Ah, wait for a second." Anna suddenly remembered something and ran off.

In no time, she returned with two sheets of paper in her hand, "These were left on my desk by Luohua this morning, and he specifically called me to pass them to you, saying all the test items are listed there, just follow them."

"Ah, thank you." Su Xingyu reached out and accepted them.

At least Fang Luohua was considerate enough to prepare the information for her.

She checked against these two test sheets, and just like he mentioned yesterday, they were standard items like aperture and shutter speed and handling, nothing special. These items she had already tested thoroughly, but just in case, she imported all the photos into the computer and conducted a final check on issues such as focusing, color deviation, and detail.

Time passed unknowingly.

Near noon, Anna called out to her, "Xingyu, would you like to join us for lunch? You’re new here and might not be familiar with the place, so we’ll take you to the employee cafeteria."

Su Xingyu looked up, noticing a few colleagues in the office tidying up their things, evidently planning to go out for lunch together. Nearby, the seat occupied by Xia Ranran, who had clashed with her yesterday, was empty as Ranran was tidying up her elegant handbag. However, upon hearing Anna’s suggestion, Ranran’s movements paused suddenly. "You all go ahead," Xia Ranran said to Anna, "I won’t join you for lunch today; I can’t afford another coffee spill."

Apparently still holding a grudge over yesterday’s incident.

Anna was exasperated, "Ranran!"

She had hoped to resolve yesterday’s tension over lunch with Su Xingyu, but Xia Ranran was clearly uncooperative.

Su Xingyu chuckled coldly, knowing it wasn’t her fault yesterday, having already apologized to Xia Ranran, who continued to be so haughty. Just as she was about to say something, her phone rang, it was Lu Shifeng.

The man had only a brief order, "Come to my office."

Her mood suddenly dipped, but she didn’t dare refuse. It was a perfect excuse, "Anna, you all go ahead, I happen to have some matters, can’t join you."

"Xingyu!" Anna was worried; how would they manage future interactions in the same office if no one was willing to compromise?

Su Xingyu waved her phone, "I really have something, you just saw me answer the call."

Anna was uncertain, but couldn’t hold her back, reluctantly saying, "Alright then, we’ll eat together next time. Remember to come back early, there’s a meeting at two o’clock."

Su Xingyu nodded and left.

Lu Shifeng’s executive office was on the top floor of the main building. When she entered, he was reviewing a document. The muted daylight from the floor-to-ceiling windows cast softly on his profile. The man was strikingly handsome when silent and not prone to anger.

Noticing her arrival, he gestured towards the reception area, "Please go in, set up the table."

Set up the table?

Su Xingyu was puzzled, and walked to the small reception area behind the screen.
