SEXY MECH SYSTEM-Chapter 30: Confusion and Realization
{Author’s Note: I’m sorry I’ve been making mistakes with the name. Sherry’s surname is Whitmore, not Whitman. Please, forgive the mistakes and enjoy reading.}
Sherry had finally locked the store, shooting a short gaze at the mess of a store before closing the door that seemed barely holding on its hinge.
"I don’t know..." Sherry started, holding the same soft hands that had almost taken two lives. "I don’t know how to thank you... I don’t even know the right words... Today, I was really amazed... You..."
Her voice was heavy with emotions, but Syril stopped her words softly, freeing a hand to place a finger on her lips.
"It’s fine, Sherry... You deserve more than that. You’ve helped me in ways that I can’t possibly summarize. You don’t need to stress yourself. You should just head home now and rest. I’ll come check on you tomorrow," Syril gently said, brushing a strand of her brown hair covering her reddened face.
Yes, her face was still red and hurting from all of the rough-handling by Finn.
"Are you in a haste? You’ve got cuts all over your body and are bleeding. You can’t go this way... Let’s meet a healer or go to the hospital," Sherry replied, surprised by the words she just heard.
"No... You, go now. I’ll be fine. What matters the most is you. You should try resting or meeting a healer for your body aches. I know a friend that can heal these."
"Syril?" She called him, disbelief layered in her tone. "Are you sure?! I don’t mean to be off, but you never really mentioned anything about friends since I’ve known you. Plus, you’re the one who has cuts all over, whereas, my face is just swollen and red. You should come with me." She urged.
"Sherry..." He squeezed her hands and pulled her closer. "Trust me, I’ll be fine, ma’am. I know someone that can heal me. I’ll come checking tomorrow. You showed me your place a long time ago, right?"
Sherry nodded, staring into the calm black eyes as her jaw tightened.
’The boy has changed. A lot.’ She thought.
"I trust you. Please, take care of yourself. Since you’ve managed to get a phone, call me when you’re home," she finally responded, slowly pulling away as if that was the last time she would meet him.
"Hm. I will. Bye, and don’t forget to say hi to your daughter for me," Syril pulled away gently and departed.
Truth?
Syril needed to leave or he could have landed himself in a hot dilemma.
He could already feel it. His wounds were already covering, slowly healing. If he stayed too long... Sherry had seen more than enough power displays.
His surprising agility. His shocking strength. She had seen it.
Sherry wasn’t pressing now, the series of events was still weighing on her, and she would need time to process all that happened.
Definitely, questions about his ability would come up when they see. He couldn’t avoid it, he couldn’t avoid her. He hadn’t completed the mission, so seeing her and raising questions about his capabilities were inevitable. Seeing his body miraculously heal would make the situation far complicated.
He couldn’t afford that. Yes, she might not tell anyone, she might keep her mouth shut, but sharing his secret this early or even sharing later might bring problems way bigger than what he can handle.
For now, he was going to play it safe. And that meant keeping his abilities a secret.
His steps were fast, hasted on the ever busy walkways of Almandale.
Before he knew it, he was at the entrance of his crummy bungalow, his house.
He rushed into the old building and soon found the dilapidated bed in his room, crashing into the mattress loudly.
Currently, all of his cuts were almost healed, only a few left with blood slowly trickling.
Syril was staring at his ceiling, his chest heaving in patterns that were kinda disturbing. He was breathing heavily.
"That was... That was intense. Never in my life had I thought I could overpower anyone with strong ability, talk more of two persons in a short timeframe," he admitted with brutal honesty, smiling as he anticipated something new.
"But... There are things I need explanations for. Raja, you there?"
"Of course... You can relish in all of the glory, but when you’re puzzled, you remember an old man in your head," Raja drawled.
"Pfft!" It was Syril’s time to taunt, now.
However, he needed to check something. He could suspend every other thing for the thrill of getting new powers, for the thrill of getting new additions in his arsenal.
That was what currently mattered.
*Open tab.* He thought, summoning the system’s UI to life.
*Ding!* *Ding!* *Ding!* *Ding!* *Ding!*

Syril closed the tab after checking the details for his new skill and taking a short glance at all stats.
He couldn’t stop grinning now. He was more than elated, but all of that elation and bubbles faded as reality dawned on him, his face contorting in ways that alerted as the memories of all that happened flooded his head clearly.
"Raja... The explanations."
"What really happened in there?"
"How did I become stronger?"
"How did I become faster?"
His face scrunched tighter as he was about to ask the last question.
"I could have sworn that I saw images of how I could kill those thieves in my head. Why was I absurdly angry?"
————~~~~~————~~~~~———
Yeah, yeah!!! I know you have questions. I don’t just make the MC strong without proper explanation... Stay HOOKED!
Now, I’m surprised I’m not seeing comments. Is there nothing to improve in the book? You don’t have thoughts about the book?
Hmph! I feel bad from not hearing from y’all.
Anyway, I hope you like this one. Thanks for supporting in the way you can.
Love y’all.
Kingnova.
