SEX WITH MY BEST FRIEND'S FIANCÉ-Chapter 38 - THIRTY EIGHT
Chapter 38: Chapter THIRTY EIGHT
- KILLIAN -
My fists clenched as I watched him take her away. My blood boils and it takes all the strength in me to stop myself from doing something unreasonable.
Why does seeing her with someone else when I’m keeping her at arms length pierce me to my soul? I’m freaking engaged yet this gets on my nerves more than anything has for a very, very long time.
Hazel is gone with that man but I’m still looking at the door where they walked out of. I wonder how she knows him.
Of course she knows other males apart from me.
"Professor Killian, a student is injured here." Someone called my attention, breaking my reverie. I glanced at the side then at the floor where the student sat with the support of others. It’s Kate.
I did not even see her.... I didn’t notice she fell. My focus was on someone else and that makes me madder. I knelt down to attend to Kate. "Are you okay?" I ask, trying to sound as concerned as I could while putting my hand beneath her to raise her up.
Kate slapped my arm away.
"I’m fine. At least I think I’m strong enough to walk." She muttered, staring at me with a frown.
"Are you sure? I’ll be glad to take you to the first aid team for a check up." Lizzie, my substitute said before I could say anything, squatting on front of Kate. "Everyone give her space." She ordered with a loud tone. The ladies around us cleared way for her to meet with Kate directly. "Try standing up, honey, take it slow." Lizzie said, helping her up.
I know my focus should be on the wellbeing of my fiancé but it’s not. What’s worse is I don’t feel bad about it.
Firstly, earlier today, Hazel moved away from me when she noticed it was me in the hallway and now she declined my help to be with someone else.
Someone she knows.
I don’t care!
"Coach, are you ready to lead the team?" Lizzie asks, interrupting my thoughts. I really hate these interruptions. I never wanted to be here in the first place and now, all I want to do is go to the medic.
What is this rage? I’ve only experienced it once with somebody and I really don’t want to admit but am I... jealous?
Fuck of course not!
We had sex for just one night. Hazel is not my type.
Or is she? She was my type when I got her to spend a night with me on my bed. When I brought her home because I didn’t want her away from me and surely when I took her contact just so I can keep an eye on her.
And she definitely had me killing S’ agents. My jaw clenched. That doesn’t mean I’m jealous.
Or does it?
I took a deep breath to clear my head. Sometimes, I hate my thoughts. They get on my nerves. Like Kate said, Hazel being around me is dangerous for her, so I shouldn’t be concerned about who takes her for aid.
I stood up and turned to face the ladies waiting for me.
"Everyone from a line." I said. "According to the number on your jersey!" I raise my voice, addressing the team. We don’t have a name yet. I’m sure the team will have options and Lizzie and I can discuss that later but for now, I’ll stick with training them.
Everyone stood in a line in front of me. This isn’t what I meant but I guess I’ll go with it. I wanted them to line up, standing by each person’s side till there’s no one else, not behind each other.
"Stand in front of me in a straight line. Let me see your faces." I whistled. The ladies did as I told. I walked in front of them, sizing each student up from head to toe. I can already tell their agility level from their stance.
They’re weak, but I can shape them well in a week. We have that much time to spend practicing.
"Do any of you have experience with playing football?" I ask, walking to and fro in front of them. Nobody said a thing. Okay, let me rephrase the question. "Do any of you watch or love sports?" I ask, looking at each member.
No one said anything.
Are you kidding? Don’t they have fathers or brothers? Certainly someone in their family must love sports.
"Is anyone fascinated by football?" I ask. This time, I stood in a spot. Like the previous response, they were quiet. This seems hopeless. Did the school host a tournament to make these kids participate in something that doesn’t involve research or technology? Because that will make more sense. A sigh escape my lips.
"Okay! We’ll start with the basics. Everyone get to the field." I threw a ball forward. "Take any position you want. I just want to see you play for a start." I blow my whistle and everyone darted to the field.
Lizzie walks up to me and stood by my side. "They’re hopeless, are they?" She chuckled.
I would rather not respond to that.
"Let’s watch them play. It’ll be easy to know their strengths and know where to assign each member." I replied Lizzie.
She walked back and sat on a bench. "Now I see why they made you the coach." She murmured.
Hearing that made me grin but she’s right. These girls are nearly hopeless. I wonder what was in the minds of whoever thought to bend the curriculum. I wonder if this is just the university acting on their own or all universities were requested to do the same thing.
A sigh escaped my lips. I put my focus on the players on the field.
They’re all sticking to themselves like sardines.
"Do they know that there is a specific number of people to play at once on the field?" Lizzie asks. One doesn’t need to look at her to notice the confusion in her tone. "And do they know that opposing teams aren’t meant to work together and celebrate scoring a goal?"
I’m tempted to say ’Don’t ask me, they’re your students.’ but I didn’t. They obviously don’t know anything about football so their display is understandable. I place my fingers on my chin and squint, watching the players closely. Someone has the ball and passes it to Kate.
She’s running across the field, keeping the ball with her. Two players are approaching her but knowing Kate, I know she won’t have any problem dribbling them. I watch her closely as she stepped on the ball, crouching her back lower while keeping her eye on both players in front of her.
Right now, she’s my sole focus. I want to see her play.
My attention is drawn to the side as I notice someone approach her from the side. I don’t even know which person is her team member but if she doesn’t make a pass now, she’ll be cornered. Kate kicked the ball to the side.
The players in front of her turned to that direction, then she kicked it to the other side and dribbled the person approaching her and scored. My eyes widened.
That was impressive. I blew air in the whistle three times, calling the attention of the players. She averted her gaze to me and I raise my hand in the air and clapped. She shot me an angry stare and turned away, walking to the other goal post.
I know she’s good at sports, but I wonder why she said nothing when I asked. Maybe she’s mad at me.
"Oh, are you okay? Are you sure you don’t want to sit?" Lizzie ask. I turn to the side to see who she was referring to.
My jaw tightened when I sighted the man I met earlier. He’s the one who took Hazel away. I don’t usually point fingers at people when I first meet them but this man is different. I do not like him. Not one bit.
"She’s fine. It’s a twisted ankle but she should be alright in a couple days." He said to Lizzie, dropping Hazel on the seat.
She’s not pushing him away nor does she act like she’s saw a ghost when around him. It irks me so much.
"Oh dear, have some rest okay? You can watch the game but let me know if you need anything." Lizzie said.
"I will, thank you, ma’am."
"Please, call me Lizzie."
I roll my eyes. The man is still standing there. He’s wearing an indigo coloured long sleeve shirt, buttoned halfway with both sleeves folded above his wrist, and black pants.
He’s well built, I’ll give him that.
He knelt down in front of Hazel, placing shoes in front of her. "I’ll be gentle, put them on." He assured her when she hesitated.
Hazel let him slip her feet into her sneakers. His hands are on her feet. My brows creased.
And they’re not just touching her feet but her legs as well.
Hazel is giggling. She’s smiling and I am not okay with it.
"Coach!" Someone screams and taps my shoulder. "The girls want a break. Can we have a five?"
"Sure." I said, barely paying attention. Having a break gives me time to meet this dude and actually have a conversation with him.
I took a step forward but my view got blocked by someone. It’s Lorelei. Now isn’t the time. I fake a smile. "Yes?"
"Just a word, Killian. There’s something I need to discuss with you."
I glanced over her shoulder to look at Hazel then back at her. "What is it?" I ask politely.
"Privately." Lorelei said.
I looked at her for a second then past her. Hazel is gone. I groaned under my breath. "Sure." I don’t have anything doing anyway.
And the person I want to meet is gone with Hazel, so thank you very much, Lorelei. I try to hide my annoyance in my gaze.
Never have a woman made me want to tie her with chains before.
My mind drifted back to when I threw Hazel in my trunk. Apart from her.
