Chapter 34: Chapter THIRTY FOUR

- KILLIAN -

"Make sure this gets to the said address." I said to the delivery man. I’m not stupid to send a real one, he’ll get killed, that’s why one of my men is the decoy. If S thought he could go behind my back and act on his own, I see no reason not to do the same.

I dip my hand in my pocket and picked up my cell phone. The first thing I did once my screen was unlocked was head to my contact list. The first name in my call logs is Asami’s, I’ll probably regret doing this but I guess there’s no other option.

I clicked on her name, ringing her line. The phone rang for a few seconds with me tapping my foot on the floor.

"It’ll be a waste if you’re asleep, Asami. You’d be missing all the fun." I whispered, staring at the sky, waiting for the next ring.

"Miss me that much already?" Her voice slid into my ears. That trickster was on the line the whole time.

"I’ll let you dream, Asami." I responded. free𝑤ebnovel.com

I heard a soft breath and a series of footsteps before a gentle thud. My assumption is that she exhaled, walked a few steps and sat. "It’s only natural. A girl can dream." A slurp and a gulp slid in my ears. "How may I help you, calling at this fine hour?" She was being sarcastic. Something about her tone gave the intonation that she expected this. My call.

This is her personal line.

"I sent a package for you. Don’t open it. It’s meant for S." My expression is bland. "Although you’re going to do whatever you want anyway." I added. Just the image of her freaking out by the present made a half grin form on my face.

"Bold of you to send a man to the house of a horny, dangerous woman." She purred. I love how she assumed the the delivery person is a man. She’s right though but the hidden meaning behind her words is what makes me sick.

"If you can get a hit on him, I’ll give you half of my shares, Asami."

She scoffs playfully. "That’s quite confident, don’t you think? Considering we were both allies. You know me, Killian. That person doesn’t."

You’re wrong. I don’t know you. At least not anymore.

"That was a very long time ago."

"Time passed, doesn’t mean I changed." I heard another gulp. I think she’s eating.

"That’s where you’re wrong. You did. That’s why I detest you and trust me, I will never forgive you." My jaw tightened. "Have a mint after your meal, it might save you from puking when you see what I sent your way." I said and cut the call.

My eyes are still glued at the stars. Mother always linked humans to the stars. She claimed that our ancestors are up there watching us. I always found that talk stupid but now, more than ever, I’ve never wished so much for something to be true.

I just wonder, which one of them is mother.... I stretched my hand upward, reaching for the stars. Which one is father.... I exhaled. And which are my unborn siblings....

The late night breeze brushed through my silky hair and suit, and I close my eyes while inhaling, getting lost in the short lived peace it brought me. I wish I could go back. Back to the days where I was ignorant about the whole thing and didn’t have to live my life with rage and the desperation for revenge. I put my hand down, dipping it in my pockets.

Although I love my constant anger. It’s a good way to clear my head from the blood lust I feel every damn time and the pent up frustration. My eyes darkened as I stared down to see my lower half.

Every damn time I am fucking horny and on the verge of bursting and my mind is so chaotic that it pushes me to want to dominate a woman. It pushes me to want to fuck out all my problems in her. Not that it changes anything for the long run, but it’s simply pleasing.

My fingers dangled around my zippo in my left pocket and I sighed. Considering the fact that I don’t smoke, it is funny that I take this around with me everywhere. It’s funny that the sound of metals clashing easies my mind.

That’s a story for another day, but for now, I just need to clear my head with something that’s not anger but is strong enough to knock me out till the morning. My phone vibrated in my hand and I brought my phone out of my pocket. I have two messages from two people. One is from Liam and the other is from Asami.

’You’re sick! Completely out of your mind, Killian. Fuck you!’ Reading Asami’s text made me smile. She must’ve seen it. Perfect.

’You might want to come home. I have something you may want to see.’ Liam texted. This dude never texts me. Not even when I’m critically sick. Sometimes, it makes me wonder if his cold heart has a soft spot for anyone.

I can’t blame him though, being emotionless is the after effect of watching one’s parents die at the age of seven. Liam is the only one I have, he’s the only one I will willingly die for and it is my duty as his elder brother to ensure he is taken care of and doesn’t do anything dangerously stupid.

He’s an adult so of course I have limitations on how much I can monitor his actions. Life has been brutal for him since that day and being the eldest, I do my best to make him forget even though I know he can’t. We’ve been scarred for life.

’I’ll join you in twenty minutes, don’t sleep.’ I texted Liam. If he does, I’ll strangle him because the urge to know something after someone tells you about it is infuriating!

’Sure. I’ll just sleep with women on your bed.’ The text came in almost immediately. I nearly barfed reading that.

’Try it and I’ll cut your dick off. You should know I don’t give empty threats.’ I texted and sent the message.

Liam sent me an image. I clicked on it to download and waited for a few seconds while it loaded. The picture finally did and I stared at it with a raised brow. It’s a picture of his neck stained with a liquid which has a colour similar to the colour of blood. His fingers, decorated with thick black rings and finger chains, holds a dagger between them which pinches into the skin of his neck. ’I also know you care about me so much to kill me. See you later, brother.’ He captioned the picture. That made my jaw clench.

That kid hits a nerve like no one else. He wants to trigger me on purpose and I won’t let him. I ignored the picture and swayed my eyes to the top of my phone to I look at the time. It is Tuesday morning, just two minutes past twelve am.

As much as I’d love to stay here and pass the time for an extra two days, work doesn’t wait for anyone. The good thing is, I don’t have to teach any classes today and tomorrow. The bad thing is, I got an email regarding the sudden change in

the curriculum. School is a hassle. I forgot how much I hated it.
