Seizing Destiny From Heavens Hands-Chapter 374: Only Awaiting the Emperor’s Command to Create Demon Land
Chapter 374: Only Awaiting the Emperor's Command to Create Demon Land
"Xiong Luan and Ying Ti disregarded orders, recklessly seeking glory, and were consequently annihilated within the borders of Mist Province."
"Even the largest tribe in the northern region of our Ten Thousand Demons Kingdom has been completely slaughtered."
"Excellent. It seems my commands hold no weight anymore, not even enough to ensure obedience."
Gu Ming's words were calm, devoid of any noticeable fluctuation in tone.
Yet, the more composed he appeared, the more it revealed the seething rage within him.
The orders he had repeatedly emphasized had been ignored by monarchs like Xiong Luan and Ying Ti, treating them as mere whispers in the wind.
This negligence led to the complete destruction of a major Bear tribe.
Previously, the losses of medium and small tribes had been mere bait, sacrifices that could be endured.
But this major tribe was a crucial part of his plans, intended to serve as a hub for troops and supplies.
Now, with the tribe annihilated and resources plundered, everything had to start anew!
This was something he could not tolerate!
Hu Yong and Xiong An both kept their heads down, not daring to speak.
At such a time, anyone who spoke would be courting misfortune.
Yet, Ye Yan's mind began to race.
This could very well be a significant opportunity.
If seized, he could become a great hero of the Ten Thousand Demons Kingdom in the future.
Thinking this, he immediately stepped forward, bowing deeply, "Father Emperor, I am willing to take charge of this matter, to rebuild the tribe at once, and establish a new hub for troops and supplies for Your Majesty!"
Hu Yong and Xiong An were both taken aback.
Their gazes towards Ye Yan shifted subtly.
Brother, you are truly bold.
Gu Ming also raised an eyebrow.
The death of Xiong Luan and the destruction of a major Bear tribe were significant blows to the Bear clan.
Other major clans, such as the Tigers, Lions, Elephants, and Wolves, still had many surviving monarchs, including top-tier monarchs who had once vied with him for the Demon Emperor's throne!
With the Bear clan severely weakened and temporarily diminished, these major clans would inevitably carve up the power vacuum left by the Bears.
If any one clan grew too powerful, it would affect all aspects of the Ten Thousand Demons Kingdom.
As the Emperor of the Demon race, Gu Ming had to maintain balance.
Thus, he had initially planned to entrust this matter to Xiong An.
To hand this achievement directly to Xiong An, thereby bolstering the honor of the Bear clan and balancing the power of the other major clans.
However, Ye Yan's self-recommendation gave him a new idea.
The surrendered humans within the Ten Thousand Demons Kingdom were also a considerable force.
They could be used to counterbalance the powerful clans.
"Very well, I shall entrust this task to you," Gu Ming declared, looking down at Ye Yan with an imperious tone that brooked no refusal.
Ye Yan responded solemnly, "Yes!"
"Your Majesty, there is another matter that requires your attention," Hu Yong suddenly spoke.
"Speak."
Hu Yong said gravely, "Many of the demon kings who participated in the hunt against the Heavenly Ghost Clan in the past have either mysteriously disappeared or been found dead in the wilderness in recent years."
"I suspect that the last descendant of the Heavenly Ghost Clan has reappeared."
A cold glint flashed in Gu Ming's crimson eyes.
"I remember now, it's the missing daughter of the Ghost King."
"Find her, and kill her."
"I will not tolerate any unforeseen variables."
Hu Yong replied respectfully, "Understood."
Gu Ming said indifferently, "I give you three years. Within three years, the new tribe must be established, and the Ghost King's daughter must be slain."
"I will be in seclusion for three years, to digest the gains from the Blood God's Treasury."
"Yes," the princes responded in unison.
After the princes left, Gu Ming waved his hand, and all the Dragon Blood Guards immediately departed.
Only Gu Ming and the leader of the Dragon Blood Guards remained in the grand hall.
"How are things progressing?" Gu Ming asked calmly.
The Dragon Blood Guard leader replied gravely, "The items have been delivered to all designated locations. We only await Your Majesty's command to create the Demon Land."
Gu Ming nodded slightly, "No rush, now is not the best time. You may leave."
"Yes."
...
Jing Kingdom, Capital, Imperial Palace.
The Jing Emperor still stood quietly.
However, his expression was far from calm.
In the corner of the room, a shadowy figure knelt on one knee, silent.
He had just heard the report from the Shadow Guard.
The imperial fleet, seeking glory, had advanced recklessly and was ambushed by Xiong Luan, Ying Ti, and other demons.
Numerous cultivators were killed or severely wounded.
Commander Ji Quan took the initiative to cover the retreat and, as a result, died in battle.
Only four of the ten ironclad cloud ships remained.
The losses were nothing short of devastating.
What made matters worse was that Xiong Luan, Ying Ti, and other monarchs of the demon race were all killed by Shen Mo while they were pursuing their victory.
The military might of the Ten Thousand Demons Kingdom suffered a severe setback, forcing them to temporarily recuperate.
Shen Mo's reputation among the various sects had risen to an astonishing level.
Some even believed that if Shen Mo continued to grow stronger, he might one day confront Gu Ming directly and slay him.
Even within the imperial court, many argued that they should no longer oppose Shen Mo.
Instead, they should strive to win him over or at least avoid standing against him.
The Jing Emperor's mood had now sunk to its lowest point.
"Your Majesty, how should we handle Ji Quan's family?" the Shadow Guard whispered.
A cold glint flashed in the Jing Emperor's eyes.
He had placed great hopes in Ji Quan, which was why he had reinstated him as the commander of the fleet.
By the time the Ten Thousand Demons Kingdom was on the verge of collapse, this fleet would not only annihilate the core demons of the kingdom but also serve as a weapon to control the various sects.
But now, everything was ruined.
Most of the court-raised cultivators had perished, and the survivors were severely injured.
His younger brother, Prince Jing, was incapable of commanding respect.
Now, those cultivators would inevitably have to follow the orders of the sects.
Once again, his plans had failed.
Ji Quan, Ji Quan, why couldn't you make me happy just once?
"Exile them to Han Province," the Jing Emperor said coldly.
"Yes," the Shadow Guard nodded.
"Also, keep a close eye on Shen Mo's movements. I want to know his every action."
The Shadow Guard hesitated, "Your Majesty, Shen Mo's strength is too great. We cannot monitor him. We must ask the leader to intervene."
"But the leader is currently in the Western Sea."
The Jing Emperor said calmly, "Forget about the Western Sea King. Have him focus on Shen Mo at all times."
"Understood. I will notify him immediately."
The Shadow Guard vanished like a ghost in the blink of an eye.
...
Western Sea.
A furious roar erupted from the Dragon Palace.
"You failed to capture the Southern Sea King and his men! What are you all doing?!"
Terrifying waves surged, crashing against the shore and pounding the reefs.
The once clear skies and calm waters were now a raging storm.
Many fishing boats capsized, and countless fishermen drowned in despair.
Inside the Dragon Palace, a dozen princes knelt on the ground, their faces filled with fear.
On the crystal throne, the Western Sea King was seething with rage. "Get out, all of you! Get out!"
The princes scrambled to their feet and fled like startled birds.

One of the lesser-known princes left the Dragon Palace but did not return to his quarters. Instead, he made his way to a remote, uninhabited area.
He took out a communication jade, and a voice immediately came through.
After listening, he frowned. "Abandon the Western Sea King and focus on Shen Mo?"
"I heard Shen Mo has achieved great feats and is a hero of the human race. Is His Majesty mistaken?"
After a long pause, he reluctantly put away the communication jade.
He was none other than Mo Lin, the leader of the Shadow Guards.
The cultivation technique he practiced was highly unique, allowing him to change his appearance at will, even transforming into other races.
For over thirty years, he had been disguised as a prince of the Western Sea Dragon Palace, lurking here to steal a treasure of immense value.
It was said to be a relic left behind by the last true dragon before it departed this realm.
However, the Western Sea King had hidden it well, not even revealing its location to his most trusted princes.
Naturally, Mo Lin had not yet had the chance to access it.
Just a year ago, he had finally uncovered some clues. To give up now would be a great pity.
"The Emperor's will is as unyielding as the heavens. I dare not disobey…"
He sighed softly and swiftly swam toward the surface.
In an instant, he disappeared without a trace.
