Secretly Mine-Chapter 151: Friends
Chapter 151: Friends
"No problem at all. We’re friends, right?" frёeωebɳovel.com
Lucas smiled brightly as he looked at me. His bright smile and crystal clear eyes quickly pulled a bit of the sadness out of me. My lips curved up into a small smile as I nodded.
Yes, you’ve proved to be a really good friend.
However, just as feelings of gratitude came, so did another worry.
What should I say if he demands to know why I was crying? I can’t just tell him that the man I’ve been in love with, who happens to be my sister’s fiancé, has secretly been using me this whole time...
My eyes darted around the room, trying to find an excuse.
"Leslie. You don’t have to explain anything if you don’t want to. Just know that I’m here for you."
Lucas’s words struck me like a bolt of thunder. I met his gaze once more, noticing the sincerity behind his words. A very warm and pleasant feeling spread through my chest. It felt as if I was being wrapped in a warm, fluffy blanket.
I’ve never met someone so selfless. Lucas is a genuine person; he deserves the best in life.
His smile was captivating. I thought back to our recent history and recalled how attentive and caring he was towards me during every interaction we had.
Even now, him giving me the space and peace of mind to simply do what I need to do without any explanation meant the world to me.
As relief washed over me, I smiled back. "Thank you, Lucas. I really appreciate you letting me hide here for a little."
"It’s not a problem at all. Stay for as long as you like," he said, meaning the words he said wholeheartedly.
My smile widened. I already felt a lot better, having enough energy to tease him a little. I looked down and noticed the sweat stains on his white button-up shirt. He looked like he came from a race instead of a high-end auction event. "What were you doing before you ran into me? You look like you ran a marathon."
The tips of his ears turned red, but he still played along with my story. "It was basically a marathon," he said, laughing. He continued to explain how he ran up six floors worth of stairs just to avoid being sandwiched in an elevator with random strangers.
I couldn’t believe his dedication, remembering how winded I was walking up only one floor.
He must stay very active to have that kind of stamina.
Lucas finally stood up and took a step back from me. He hesitated slightly before looking at me. "I was planning on taking a quick shower. Would that make you uncomfortable?"
He’s such a gentleman!
I smiled brightly as I shook my head. He never once gave me any reason to feel uncomfortable around him. In fact, I felt very at ease in his presence. "Not at all. Please, go ahead. I’ll be right here."
He nodded gratefully, "Very well then. Please excuse me for a few minutes. I’ll be right back."
I watched him walk to the en-suite bathroom that was just on the other side of the bed from where I was sitting.
-
A few minutes later, I heard the water in the shower turn on. Though he asked for my permission and I knew nothing would happen, the feeling of sitting alone in a handsome man’s hotel room while he was showering felt a little...unfamiliar.
Christian was the only man I’ve ever been with, and most of the time we showered together, so listening to the noises coming from the bathroom made me slightly embarrassed.
Due to how close the bathroom was to me, I could hear everything very clearly, even the sounds of his clothes dropping to the floor.
He’s just showering, Leslie. Chill.
I scolded myself for being bothered about a simple shower. I fiddled with my fingers for a while, trying to distract myself from all of my crazy thoughts.
At least I’m not crying anymore.
Letting out a deep sigh, I did my best to push the thoughts of Christian’s conversation out of my mind. It still hurt like hell. My heart continued to rip into pieces, but crying wasn’t going to solve anything.
Behind me, I heard the sudden change in the shower water.
He must have gotten into the shower.
I felt my heart beat a little faster, but ignored it by looking around the beautiful hotel suite. It was smaller than Christian’s and didn’t have a full kitchen, but it wasn’t any less luxurious. The furniture and decorations were all of the highest grade and quality.
The biggest difference was that the decorations in Lucas’s room were very light and earthy, while the ones in Christian’s room were all dark and moody. Both rooms had their own charm, and I didn’t prefer one style over the other, simply finding it funny how even the decorations fit their masters’ personalities.
The scent of clean and fresh shampoo wafted out of the bathroom behind me, bringing my thoughts back to what was going on in the shower behind me.
I suddenly thought of Lucas’s muscular chest and broad shoulders that he kept hidden behind his perfectly tailored suits.
I wonder how his injury is doing. I never had the chance to ask him about it...
The coffee too. I wonder if he ever had a chance to go back and try it.
Curiosity finally got the better of me, and I turned my head slightly to look in the direction of the shower. I knew that I wouldn’t see anything, but I just had to look.
The moment I did, I quickly regretted it. I wasn’t sure how or why, but the door was slightly open, giving me a clear view directly into the shower. My face turned red from embarrassment, but my mind wouldn’t stop replaying the image I just saw.
Lucas was standing under the running water, fully naked. His entire body was as chiseled as his chest was, but the thing that shocked me the most was seeing a glimpse of his fully erect member.
Why is he hard? Do men just get hard like that when they take showers? Is he thinking about someone?
...is he thinking about me?...
I shook my head as I focused on my nails in front of me. There was no way Lucas would think of me in that way.
He thinks of me as a friend. He said so himself..
Friends. That’s what we were to each other. He trusted me as much as I trusted him, but the image of his rather large erection continued to live in my mind.
He’s nearly as big as Christian...
