Chapter 479: Chapter 479: Subconscious Actions

She looked at her and Angela Reid approached.

“Miss Emily, why are you here too?” Angela Reid’s smile could never seem to annoy Emily, even though she was Camila’s mother.

She laughed softly, “My little brother works nearby, so I just came to check on him and I was about to leave.”

On hearing this, Angela Reid was taken aback, “Your brother?”

“Yes, he’s a student. He works at a restaurant here during the weekends.” As Emily spoke, fat raindrops suddenly started pouring down, catching everyone off guard.

At this time, those pedestrians on the main street who didn’t have an umbrella rushed around to avoid this sudden downpour. Angela Reid’s driver, anticipating the storm, had opened his umbrella just as the raindrops fell, offering Angela Reid cover.

Emily hurriedly looked for a place to take shelter, but Angela Reid across the street took the umbrella held up by her driver and immediately raced towards Emily.

Completely out of instinct, even Angela Reid herself didn’t understand why she was doing so.

“Here, take it.” Angela Reid positioned the umbrella over Emily and was immediately soaked by the rainfall herself.

Seeing this unusual behavior of hers, Emily was slightly taken aback.

When she came to her senses, she hurriedly pushed the umbrella back towards Angela Reid, “That’s okay, I can just hail a cab home.”

Hearing that, Emily turned to hail a taxi.

Seeing this, Angela Reid finally realized that she didn’t have a driver.

Just as Emily turned around, Angela Reid grabbed her arm and walked towards her own car.

With a surprised look on her face, Emily was completely clueless about Angela Reid’s intention. When she recovered from her surprise, she found herself sitting in Angela Reid’s private car.

Once they entered the car, they finally avoided the heavy downpour.

“I’ll take you home. It’s hard to hail a car in such heavy rain.” Angela Reid spoke out, feeling it strange for Baron Stuart’s woman to not even have a car or a driver.

Emily wanted to refuse, but when she glanced outside the window she saw pedestrians who had forgotten their umbrellas standing awkwardly by the road, trying to hail a taxi in vain due to the unexpected heavy rain. Each taxi was already full of passengers.

If she got out now, she might not be able to hail a taxi and end up thoroughly drenched!

“Thank you.” Eventually, Emily accepted Angela Reid’s kind offer silently.

The two of them were already wet, and there were no dry towels or anything similar in the car.

Angela Reid looked at her wet beautiful hair, gave a small laugh, then took out a handkerchief from her bag, about to wipe Emily’s hair dry.

Once again acting instinctively, Emily was startled, staring at her blankly. She thought that maybe Camila’s mother was bit too… considerate of her?

Was she mistaking her for Camila?

“I can do it myself!” After seeing Angela Reid’s hand extended towards her, Emily laughed awkwardly and took the handkerchief from her hand.

It wasn’t until Emily took the handkerchief, that Angela Reid realized her two unusual acts and her face instinctively darkened.

This girl shouldn’t be her long-lost Camila, but whenever she saw her, she felt as though she was, making her behave unusually.

Seeing her sudden gloomy expression, Emily was taken aback.

Could it be because she took her handkerchief and prevented her from wiping her hair that she was upset?

At that thought, Emily suddenly realized that perhaps her actions had been too hurtful.
