Chapter 916: Chapter 916: Default Identity

With a glass of champagne, Summer Sutton gently played with the long hair that fell in front of her.

Her action was just a casual gesture, as she felt the hair in front was somewhat inconvenient.

At the time, she was unaware of how captivating her movements were.

Watt Bennet’s initially unpleasant expression turned even darker.

What made him even more upset was Ryan Walyon’s next action.

There were quite a few men watching Summer Sutton intently tonight. Seated next to her, perhaps Ryan Walyon disliked so many eyes on Summer, and so he took off his jacket and draped it over her shoulders.

His action was sudden, causing Summer Sutton to stiffen momentarily.

Instinctively she wanted to take it off, but Ryan’s hand pressed down on hers, stopping her movement.

Summer Sutton raised her face to look at him, and then her gaze drifted over to Watt Bennet’s direction. 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦

Watt Bennet was still staring at her. Though two tables apart, Summer could still feel the intensity of his gaze.

That sharpness felt like a piercing knife, brushing against her, as though it could penetrate through her.

Summer’s back suddenly felt a chill, and she sat stiffly in her chair, feeling extremely unnatural.

Ryan Walyon was very close to her, having come to her side, showing no intention of leaving, almost sticking to her.

Behind her, the gaze from Watt Bennet’s direction seemed even colder, making Summer feel as if the temperature at the award ceremony had suddenly dropped several degrees.

Watt Bennet, wearing a mask, had an expression that others couldn’t discern, but Summer Sutton knew all too well.

She was too familiar with Adrian Walyon; such a gaze, she had faced countless times before.

Summer Sutton grew increasingly restless, sitting at the venue like she was on pins and needles, extremely uncomfortable.

She had been infuriated by Watt Bennet in recent days. In fact, she could have used Ryan Walyon to irritate Watt Bennet, retaliating the way he treated her.

But relationships are matters between two people, and Summer Sutton did not want to use anyone.

Afraid Watt Bennet might lose his calm and escalate the situation, Summer didn’t dare linger at the venue any longer. She stood up abruptly, removed Ryan’s jacket, and swiftly headed out.

"Marshall Quinn, take me home!" she called out to Marshall, leaving the venue without looking back.

She exited quickly, not daring to linger even for a minute.

Following Marshall outside, just as she was about to start the car, Ryan Walyon blocked the way.

"Let me give you a ride! We haven’t seen each other in so long, we can catch up properly." He opened the car door and sat in the driver’s seat.

Marshall Quinn was a bit awkward, unsure whether to stay in the car or get out.

After all, he belonged to Adrian Walyon. If he got out, it would give Ryan Walyon and Summer Sutton a chance to be alone.

Marshall stood outside the car door, torn with indecision, while Ryan showed no intention of acknowledging him, and the car sped off with a roar.

As their car departed, they coincidentally encountered Watt Bennet coming out of the venue.

Through the lights, he saw the two people in the car clearly, and his grip on the handrail tightened.

Marshall Quinn, standing not far away, looked at him with a strong sense of guilt, "Young master..."

His address was extremely intimate.

Without any prefixes.

Yet, Watt Bennet didn’t correct him.

This side of him made Marshall’s blood boil with excitement; in an instant, it seemed as if he saw the light of the entire world.

He didn’t deny it; was this an indirect acknowledgment of his identity?
