Chapter 655: Chapter 655: Second Uncle Walyon’s Excessive Concern

The room was filled with people, all worried about Sophie.

Old Master Walyon had only three grandsons, and although he was usually quite stern, whenever any of the grandchildren had health issues, there was no way he wouldn’t be worried.

Old Master had his brow furrowed tightly, hands behind his back, and hadn’t spoken since entering the room.

He was the grandfather, naturally concerned about Sophie, but what surprised Summer Sutton was that Bryce Walyon seemed genuinely concerned about Sophie too.

As Summer’s gaze casually swept across the room, she noticed Bryce watching Sophie anxiously and nervously several times.

This made Summer pause in surprise.

Something was off!

Although Bryce was indeed the Second Uncle, whenever Adrian had issues, Bryce did not show this level of concern for Adrian.

Today’s Bryce left Summer suddenly unable to figure out what was going on.

After faking illness, Sophie had negotiated terms with Diana and Old Master and was now peacefully lying back on the bed.

He had indeed caused such a scene tonight just to fool Summer and Adrian into coming back home.

Sophie had been a lonely child from the beginning, seemingly everyone in the family focused more attention on the overly excellent Adrian, while most of Sophie’s time was spent with the maids.

Sophie received far less family attention than Adrian, his sense of loneliness never ceased.

Yet despite this, Adrian was his favorite person in the entire family.

There was admiration from his childhood, as well as the bond of brotherhood.

After Summer entered this home, arguing with her daily, for a long time, Sophie found life much more enjoyable.

But that fun disappeared completely after Summer left.

A year after Gina Sutton’s affair was revealed, Sophie had been waiting for Summer to return.

What he didn’t expect was that Grandpa never spoke of the matter.

Sophie’s small mind found it hard to understand many things; after Summer came to this home, the family was harmonious, and she was who Adrian had chosen, Adrian had said he wouldn’t marry anyone else.

If that were the case, why wouldn’t Grandpa let Sister-in-law return?

The adult world left Sophie befuddled with so much he couldn’t comprehend. Without Summer, his life at home was so unbearably dull that it almost made him sick; hence came tonight’s scheme.

He overacted his role tonight, leaving his throat dry and uncomfortable after lying down.

Twisting and turning in bed, really wanting to reach for the water cup, but feeling too embarrassed to directly ask a maid given his supposedly severe condition.

After twisting and turning several times, while contemplating how to open his mouth, a slender, fair hand delivered a cup of water before him.

Seeing the slight steam rising from the water, Sophie’s eyes lit up.

Summer sat down beside the bed, directly offering the cup to his lips.

Using her help, Sophie sat up and took several gulps, urging the others out of the room with calm indifference, "With Sister-in-law here, I’m fine. You all can leave!"

He just wanted to have a private conversation with Summer.

Diana was extremely displeased with him.

She was his biological mother!

Falling ill and refusing her company, what does it mean to have Summer accompany him instead?

But as the child was sick now, despite her dissatisfaction, Diana still left with the group.
