Chapter 139: Chapter 139: The one who ruined your flower is me

When the door opened, she discovered he had gotten up at some point.

He was moving around the room, seemingly looking for something.

His steps seemed just as steady as when he hadn’t been drinking.

Summer Sutton was dumbfounded.

"What are you looking for?" she tried asking.

"Thirsty," Adrian Walyon tossed the word to her.

"I’ll help you get some water from the kitchen." Summer quickly slipped out, opened the door, and went downstairs, taking her time to come back up with a glass of water.

When she returned to the room, Adrian Walyon was waiting on the sofa.

Summer Sutton handed him the water, watching him drink it down, and then suggested, "Do you want to sleep first?"

Adrian wasn’t in a rush, instead, he pulled her onto his lap, wrapping his arms tightly around her waist, burying his head in the crook of her neck, inhaling the sweet rose scent she carried.

The rose fragrance on Summer Sutton was strong, overpowering the usual Blue Bell scent she wore, the result of soaking in a bath filled with rose petals.

While inhaling, he suddenly started kissing her skin, gently nibbling.

He seemed to enjoy holding her like this, even if they were just doing nothing together.

A woman’s body is just different from a man’s—was this girl made of water?

Everything in his arms was so soft, it felt like she could break from just a little extra pressure.

This sensation even made Adrian Walyon somewhat addicted—once he held her, he didn’t want to let go.

Adrian had never thought about what it would be like having someone else by his side every day before. Suddenly knowing about the arranged marriage with the Sutton Family, his life unexpectedly included Summer Sutton, who wasn’t part of his initial plans, yet everything felt so natural.

As long as he exercised restraint, Summer Sutton let him do anything he wanted.

Obediently sitting on his lap, she wrapped her arms around his neck, trying to suggest, "How about we sleep early? You can do what you want another day?"

Adrian’s head was aching a bit; alcohol made him more tired than usual.

He contemplated that Summer Sutton was already his wife, and he could do as he wished with her anytime, so he gave up on what he had originally planned to do with her.

"Hmm. Sleep." He carried her towards the bed.

The two of them lay together on the soft bed, sleeping through the night in each other’s arms.

The Walyon Family had many rules; with three generations living together, the younger ones had to rise early to greet their elders.

Summer Sutton woke up around seven, washed up quickly, and went downstairs with Adrian.

As soon as they entered the hall, they heard Diana Wood’s scolding voice, "My flowers! They were planted so well, how did they all disappear overnight? How did you take care of them?"

Summer Sutton paused her steps, a slight freeze in her expression.

Were those the flowers from last night?

Diana Wood continued to scold the servants, "Do you know how hard it is to cultivate those flowers? Northtown’s climate is different from abroad, they’re difficult to maintain in winter, especially in this freezing weather. Do you know how much effort I put into getting them to bloom?"

She blamed the servants for not taking proper care of them.

Summer Sutton couldn’t bear to see the innocent servants being scolded and suddenly spoke up, "I picked those flowers."

She took them all to bathe with.

Diana was already angry, but hearing that it was Summer’s doing, she got even angrier.

Her sharp gaze swept towards Summer, directing all her anger there, "So many flowers, what did you take them for?"

"To take a petal bath," Summer Sutton replied, a bit awkwardly.
