Wei Wei's first official mission came nearly a month after joining the Scrap Iron City Supernatural Affairs Investigation Team.

Mission Type: First Class Dangerous Investigation – Suspected Corrupted Monster Injury Incident

Level: C Grade Mission Description: Suspected Knowledge Demon type corrupted monster infiltration, causing many citizens to have their brains stolen… Mission Codename: Find Brain Plan

...

Although everyone internally criticized Captain Ouyang's ability to name operations—and it was hard to see much respect for him from the team members usually—once the mission was officially issued, everyone immediately began executing it in an orderly manner. After collectively responding "Understood", they went downstairs together, arriving in front of a modified assault vehicle that Sister Lucky had just driven over.

Uncle Gun got on the assault vehicle and quickly brought down a flat, sturdy black armored box.

"Little Wei is also participating in the operation today. This is what the captain asked me to give you. Remember to change into it before the operation," he said with a smile, handing an armored box to Wei Wei.

Opening the box revealed four neatly stored items inside:

"This tactical suit is woven from super-sensitive magnetic fiber material researched by the Foundation's research institute. It's soft and flexible, doesn't affect movement, and most importantly, it's breathable and doesn't leak when worn close to the skin," Uncle Gun explained.

"Its toughness can resist cuts from ordinary daggers, and its strength can withstand shots from ordinary handguns. Of course, don't charge into a hail of bullets wearing it. Even if you don't die, it'll still hurt a lot. Oh, and hand wash it after wearing, otherwise it'll shrink."

He continued, "The signal-enhanced communicator is for timely communication when entering demonic fields. Its signal is several levels higher than ordinary devices, but be careful—it can still be affected in areas with strong demonic power."

"The emergency stabilizer syringe is for our self-protection. After using demonic power to fight, demonic power usually becomes abnormally active. Remember, once the demon activity level reaches above 75%, or if you hear suspected demonic whispers, inject immediately."

...

Uncle Gun explained everything to Wei Wei one by one, finally placing a special small box solemnly into Wei Wei's hand.

"What's this?" Wei Wei asked excitedly, sensing Uncle Gun's seriousness.

"This is our most lethal weapon," Uncle Gun said gravely. "Demon Hunter Series Special High-Energy Bullet Type 1, designed specifically for hunting demons. It contains a coagulant that can effectively weaken the power of demon-infected individuals. It's a privileged professional bullet. You're new, so you shouldn't normally be given this—but today's situation is special…"

Before Uncle Gun could finish, Wei Wei's face fell in disappointment. He casually opened the box.

Hmm, Green Bean Fly. And there were only three of them…

...

"Listen up."

Captain Ouyang sat astride his beloved sidecar motorcycle, wearing a huge pair of black toad sunglasses, draped in a dashing silver trench coat with a pistol tucked at his waist. Under the trench coat, the handle of a submachine gun was faintly visible. His heavy riding boots had soles thick enough to stomp someone to death. His hair was neatly combed, slicked with gel, and his beard was trimmed impeccably.

"Tonight we'll all mobilize to search for the Soul-Devouring Banshee," he declared in a deep voice. "But the mission is dangerous, so safety comes first. Once you find a clue, notify immediately and wait for my order before taking action. Eliminating or driving away this corrupted monster to protect the safety of Scrap Iron City's residents is very important."

His expression became extremely serious as he looked over everyone's faces, lingering especially on Wei Wei's. "Protecting your own lives is equally important, understand?"

"Understood," everyone answered in unison—with Wei Wei's voice the loudest.

"Very good, now let's assign tasks."

Captain Ouyang looked at Wei Wei with satisfaction and said, "When the operation begins, everyone will separate, with Feifei as the center. Each person will take one position, required to stay within two blocks of her, starting patrol from the Fifth District. If any problem occurs, support Feifei immediately. Do not change the mission objective without my order midway."

"Understood," came the collective reply, with Wei Wei shouting just as loudly.

Captain Ouyang sighed deeply and then waved to the team, "Alright, dismissed. You each have three hours to prepare. Be at the designated location to take positions before 4 PM."

...

As everyone dispersed, Wei Wei prepared to return to the base to get his Jeep.

"I'll take you back," Sister Lucky said, twirling the sports car keys in her finger. She glanced at Wei Wei's crotch with a seemingly unsatisfied expression.

"Okay, okay, Sister Lucky. I'll open the car door for you," Wei Wei replied, hurriedly and attentively opening the door for her, then going around to get in on the other side.

"You don't seem worried at all about the captain's plan?" Sister Lucky asked, smiling as she started the car.

"What's there to worry about?" Wei Wei replied, a bit surprised, then immediately nodded along.

Actually, he was indeed surprised just moments before, but the excitement of his first official mission had dispelled that doubt: he agreed with bringing the constantly lucky Ye Feifei over as the core of this operation.

However, even though Captain Ouyang valued Feifei so much, he was actually willing to let her be bait for the Soul-Devouring Banshee? Even with the others positioned around her, wasn't he afraid that if something went wrong, the rescue wouldn't be in time?

"You're worried about Feifei, right?" Sister Lucky asked.

Her earlier bad mood had vanished, replaced by calm. "It's not exactly worry..." Wei Wei smiled and said, "But the captain seems to have a lot of faith in this young lady's abilities."

"What abilities does she have? She's just an unlucky person," Sister Lucky replied with a laugh. "If there's a hole in the road, a hundred people might avoid it, but she'd definitely fall in."

"Then…" Wei Wei began.

"But she has special power protecting her," Sister Lucky explained with a smile. "Feifei is the only person in the team I haven't given underwear to. It's not because my size is too big for her, but because I can't interfere with her ability. Or rather, she's not actually a superhuman yet—she has no abilities. She was just born with the attention of the Disaster Demon, a natural Disaster Demon infectee. It's especially severe during those few days each month."

"Disaster Demon?" Wei Wei asked, not surprised, as he had guessed it long ago.

"Also…" Sister Lucky narrowed her eyes and said, "Don't you wonder why we've always been against you being with her?"

Wei Wei suddenly felt guilty, but Sister Lucky smiled and added, "Actually, we're concerned for your safety. Feifei's superhuman characteristic causes her to potentially trigger bad accidents wherever she goes. This is also why her father sent her to us. But she's not simply unlucky—no matter how unlucky she gets, she won't die from the bad luck she causes, unless the sudden danger exceeds the limit of her power. So, as a Disaster Demon system infectee, her trait isn't about being unlucky; it's about being unlucky, but not dying. That kind of bad luck will cause bad things to happen around her, but also protect her life. She's very suitable for tonight's operation, and she herself won't encounter any fatal situations. Or rather, she won't be in danger until we're all in trouble!"

"There's such a power?" Wei Wei was stunned for a moment. "Professional team saboteur?"

Sister Lucky laughed, "Learn from it—there's still a lot you don't know about the team!"

...

As they talked, Sister Lucky dropped Wei Wei off at the base, and he immediately got into his Jeep parked at the entrance. Seeing that his first mission in Scrap Iron City was about to begin—as an intern who hadn't been formally hired yet—he was very excited. Taking advantage of the time before the operation, he quickly rushed back to his "home" to make serious preparations.

The first thing he did was to go into the bathroom and change into the tactical suit issued by the team.

...Before changing, he put on SpongeBob first.

Before setting out, he thought for a moment and took down the head charm hanging on the wall, casually stuffing it into his pocket.

He was about to go downstairs, but remembering this was his first mission, he needed to prepare well. So he sat down on the sofa again and pulled out the box from under it.

When he came back, he brought three boxes—two large and one small. One box contained money and a change of clothes. The second box contained small demon serum processing equipment.

Until this moment, he finally opened the third box, and what appeared before him was…

...rows of neatly arranged Demon Hunter bullets.

On top was a row of three thumb-sized Demon Hunter Series Special High-Energy Bullet Type 3 bullets with bright red heads—Red Angel.

The second row had twelve Demon Hunter Bullet Type 2: Green-headed Ghost. At the bottom, filling the entire box almost uncountably, were Demon Hunter Type 1 bullets—Green Demon, also known as Green Bean Fly.

...

"Really not much left, and who knows when the instructor's support will arrive..." Wei Wei muttered, grabbing two handfuls and stuffing them into his gun holster: "But still, the mission comes first!" Thinking about it and feeling uneasy, he grabbed another handful.
