Saving The Villainous Monster From The Male Lead-Chapter 52 - 51: The Saviour
Caelestis looked at him. He wasn’t sure what to say, yet his lips parted and uttered to most viable thing that can be said at that moment, "I have not gone through any of what you have experienced. I know nothing. But I want to understand."
"Lies!" Rage took over the best of Victor and he picked up the pocketknife on the ground and surged towards the little Caelestis.
Instead, of dodging the attack, he simply blocked it with his palm. The knife had passed through his little palm and blood gauged out of the wound. He hissed in pain but gulped his scream in.
Victor thought he might just dodge the attack, but he didn’t and now he had truly hurt someone, so badly that the blood wouldn’t stop gushing out of it. "I’m sorry." He uttered, his eyes filled with tears and his legs lost its strength from fear, making him fall on the floor.
Caelestis kelt in front of him and patted on Victor’s shoulders with his other hand. "It’s okay. I won’t tell anyone."
That was their first encounter. Caelestis had saved this man from getting imprisoned in the crime of hurting a noble. And if that was not enough, he brought Victor to Lancaster mansion. Helped him get into a foreign academy to get education, thus earning himself a loyal comrade. Until he lost Victor forever by killing Eleanore.
"Elle!" Victor called her out, bringing her back from the novel’s contents. She scanned through everything she had read but couldn’t find the answer to one question.
’What made Victor go against Caelestis?’
"Umm! No. Brother is out on a mission that’s why I am here." Eleanore answered with a fake smile.
"Elle?" Victor’s eyebrows furrowed in worry. "Did the devil do something to you?" He sensed the fake smile and sadness in her tone.
"Oh! Just shut up! I have done nothing to her." Caelestis defended himself, since no one was defending him.
Victor turned to him. "Then why does she look so sad?"
"Victor." Eleanore grabbed his arm. "I am fine."
"Are you sure?"
"Yes," Eleanore nodded. "But— Can we talk later? I am here to have an important conversation with Caelestis. If that’s fine with you?"
Victor clenched his jaw. He glared at Caelestis for a while, before leaving the room.
"What did you want to talk about?" Caelestis asked, once Victor had left the room.
Eleanore sighed, somewhat annoyed by his attitude towards her. Acting as if she was a pest buzzing around him. "About the Tea Party incident."
"I do not wish to hear any excuses from you. Adena has already explained the incident to me." He picked a book from the right pile on his desk and started turning the pages.
"Grand Duke, Verbena is not a very good friend of mine. Yes, it’s true, I used to join her in bullying other ladies. However, this time I didn’t." She continued with her explanation.
"And Flora?"
Eleanore went silent on that. She was still confused about the friendship that the original Eleanore had with Flora. Is Flora her true friend or just another lady who loves mocking Stella and thus decided to become friends with Eleanore?
Caelestis’ gaze moved from his book to Eleanore. "What’s wrong? Is she also not your friend?"
"I’m not sure, honestly. But I know that Stella is my friend, and I always support my people."
"My people? Since when Stella became your person?" His eyebrows raised on the surprising statement that had landed on him.
"Since I decided to stop wasting my time and energy on you." She countered back.
"Lady Eleanore." Caelestis got out of his chair, slamming the book he was holding on the table. "Are you implying that Adena is lying?"
"Yes. For I was not present at the time when she was insulted. When I appeared, I defended her."
"Lady Eleanore. My cousin would never lie to me." He yelled at her.
"Suit yourself." Saying this, Eleanore left the study.
She came here with an intention to have a peaceful and logical conversation with him. But this man, every time they talk, he gets angry and makes her angry too. She knew it by now. She could never have a meaningful conversation with him. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝐰𝚎𝕓𝐧𝚘𝘃𝗲𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝕞
Just then Victor popped in front of her, out of nowhere.
"Oh my god!" Eleanore gasped.
"So how was your "Important Conversation" with him?" He asked.
Eleanore quickly rolled her eyes on remembering that awful conversation. "Trash!" She replied.
"I knew it." He stood by her side, and they started walking in the corridor to somewhere. "He is a difficult person to talk to."
"I just wanted to clear my name, but he always just makes me angrier." She complained.
"Clear your name?" Victor was confused.
"Yes, actually Stella was insulted at Flora’s party and that bitch Adena wrote a letter to him making it sound like I had planned it all."
"Bitch?!" Victor repeated, turning to her and laughing like he had heard a funny joke. "Where did you learn to speak such foul words?" He asked, stunned by this change in the great, cultured and respectful Eleanore.
"Well, I use it at times, when I am angry." She lied.
"Haha! That’s good. One should let out their anger in any way possible. Even if it meant using bad words." He laughed again.
Hearing his carefree laughter made Eleanore chuckle a little too, making her anger disappear within seconds. "You are strange."
"I get that a lot." Victor turned to her. "Anyways, I must leave. The devil has given me a lot of work. See you tomorrow at the Crown Prince’s party."
"Party? For what?" Eleanore was puzzled.
"What? Didn’t you hear? The crown prince received the title of the captain of the Royal Knights." Victor replied.
"Oh! Right. You will be coming too?" Eleanore remembered yesterday’s drunkard party she had attended to celebrate the same occasion.
"Well, of course. Dummy." He flicked her forehead again.
"Damn it! Can you stop doing that? It hurts." Eleanore covered her forehead again in pain.
"Never." Saying this, Victor quickly left the corridor.
’What a strange man!’ Eleanore thought. She had no idea about this relationship between the original Eleanore and Victor. There was nothing written about them in the novel except that Eleanore’s death made him leave Caelestis’ side for good and join Hael.
