Yesterday in the late evening, while the two blooming ’famous couple’ were on their date commitment for the Auction Party. At the Paradise Restaurant, an unexpected event took over the whole environment of the restaurant.
A loud cheer was heard at the reported time, around 8:30 pm. When the guests were asked about its occurrence. They all smiled and answered in joy.
"I think I am very lucky to witness this romantic moment between those two love birds." One of the guests who was the noble lady from a baron household said.
"The way they hugged. Oh my! There are no words. If only my fiance and I were there instead!" Said the famous lady of the Esper Family.
The words of many other nobles were the same. Turns out the Duke of Sinclair proposed to the Baroness, the owner of Baroness Dress Making Sop. Located at the high road of the capital.
This couple is now the talk of the capital. Stay tuned to hear more about their alleged engagement and marriage.
________
Eleanore was a bit confused on how to react to this. Hael had informed her yesterday of the small engagement party they were planning on the mansion. He didn’t say anything about the marriage date or anything, but she knew it was going to be soon too.
She was a bit scared, sceptical and shocked at how fast things were going. Although she was hoping for that to happen, she was still completely stunned and happy at the same time when she read this news.
Her brother soon stood on the doorstep of her room, leaning on the wall at the side. "You are also reading that?" He speaks up, attracting Eleanore’s attention to him.
She looked over her shoulder, to find him standing behind her. "Yes." She answers, folding up the newspaper and placing it aside. "Never knew you could be so romantic."
Marina adds the last touch in her hair, before moving aside and freeing her from this torture. She walks to her brother and smiles.
"I am happy for you." She says in excitement.
"You look more excited for my engagement than me."
"Lies." Eleanore held his arms that were waiting to be held by her. They start walking to the staircase. "You do look nervous, though!" She notices.
Hael laughs on hearing that, accepting Eleanore’s observation.
"You do love her right?"
"Yes." He smiles, his heart racing as he thinks about her. "I love her. I love everything about her. I can’t find words to describe these feelings."
They start outside the entrance and move to the garden decorated just for their engagement today.
"Do you like her too?" He asks.
"Yes, she is kind." Eleanore’s eyes fall on her feet. "But brother, you won’t forget me, right?"
Hael stops. He turns to her and makes her face him too by placing his hand on her shoulder. "I could never forget you." He gently lifts her face, by her chin. "You are my only family."
Eleanore feels terrible saying these things, but her mouth couldn’t resist. It continued to run on it’s own and continued asking these ridiculous questions.
Her fingers clench over the fabric of her dress, as she continues, "But after your marriage, I won’t be your only family. Moreover, after my marriage I won’t be your family at all."
Hael sighs on hearing that. "Are dumb or just naive?" He gave her a finger shot on her head. Eleanore immediately covers her forehead in pain.
"My dear little sister. No matter where you go, or who you marry. You will always be my family. Even after I marry Stella, you will be the most important person in my life." His smile convinced Eleanore that his words were true.
"Promise?" She holds out her hand and Hael laughs as he clenches over it tightly.
"I promise." He pulls her into a hug and Eleanore wishes that this warmth she feels would never run away. That it would remain with her for aways.
Her brother’s protective shadow remains on her and always stands by her side. She never wants to lose him. Deep down she knew that this promise would not last. It is the law of the world.
Men forget their sister, even their brothers once they have a family of their own. But maybe Hael would never. Even if he might choose Stella over her at times, he would still love her immensely. She knew it, yet she felt nervous.
The peace that had surrounded that garden, covered by white snow, felt strange to her. As if this was the piece before a tsunami. Eleanore could only hope that ehr instincts are wrong and everything would go smoothly, just as she had planned.
While the Sinclair mansion had been lightened up with joy and happiness, for the lord’s engagement. In Lancaster mansion, not that far from here, the atmosphere holds a heaviness. A sheer contrast from here.
The newspaper that had spread gossip and joy with its story. Had also spread envy in and heartbreak in a certain someone.
A loud continuous thud noises echoed on the first floor of the Lancaster mansion. The staff, the maids and the knights had turned completely silent. Most of them had expected this reaction, but never to this intensity.
Victor who had just arrived after dropping off his pupil at the National Academy. He quickly rushed into the study which had turned into a mess. The desk was empty. The files and work papers, scattered on the floor. All objects were on the ground, some broken, intact with a few missing parts.
In the middle of that dark room, Caelestis was sitting. His arm bleeding, bleeding oozing out of it falling on the image of Hael and Stella kissing from the auction party. His palm was covering his eyes, as he couldn’t see that image anymore.
"Bring in some first aid." Victor shouted, as he walked close to Caelestis. "Grand duke?" He called him.
But Caelestis did not reply.
"Grand duke? Are you okay?"
Caelestis removes his palm covering his teary eyes. He looked up at Victor. "Why won’t she look at me?"
