Saving the Heartthrob Frenemy-Chapter 677: Hazing the groom 2
Then, as if on cue, laughter erupted, and the human barrier parted, welcoming Luo Muchen inside with backslaps and friendly chatter.
But this was only the beginning of his torture. Qie Xieling’s family had prepared a series of games, a test of Luo Muchen’s resolve and affection.
The first challenge was the waxing challenge. He was forced to sit down and strips of wax were applied to his arms and legs. This game was courtesy of Nana Qie. Her grandbaby suffered so naturally his soon-to-be husband should suffer as well.
The rip of each strip was a shock to the system, a jolt that brought tears to his eyes. He was laughing through the pain but his heart was excited.
The room echoed with the sounds of encouragement and playful taunts, but through the sting, his thoughts were only on his sweet Lin Lin. Each pull was a step closer to his beloved, a small sacrifice in the grand scheme of their love.
Wen Danzhe was especially ruthless. When removing the last one he rubbed it really hard so it stuck to his little hairs. When he removed it, Luo Muchen resisted the urge to cry out his veins throbbing from the pain. His lower lip was bit red, his neck and cheek flushed. It wasn’t only him. Hei Xiwen and his minions also suffered with no complaint.
This was the only game that was painful. The rest were so embarrassing that Luo Muchen regretted not marrying into the Qie family. They were made to play Shake It Off which was a silly game with pingpongs filled up in empty tissue boxes. The boxes were then tied around his waist. They had to empty the box before time was up otherwise Wen Danzhe would add another game. Luo Muchen shook his waist really hard but his pig teammates didn’t shake hard enough. He was made to sing karaoke. If it was just a song that was fine but they chose the most sappy and cheesiest romantic love song and told him to put some emotion into it. He sang his heart out like the prince trying to coax Rapunzel to let down her hair.
It was only then that they let him upstairs. The stairs leading to Qie Xieling’s room seemed to stretch on endlessly in a sea of red. Each step resonated with Luo Muchen’s heartbeat the eagerness in his heart making him skip a few steps. When he finally reached Qie Xieling’s bedroom his breath was caught at the sight before him.
Qie Xieling was sitting on the bed, a red veil covering his face. The room was alive with laughter and chatter, the air thick with happiness and the sweet scent of incense.
Luo Muchen who was entranced by his future husband’s dazzling figure was brought back to earth when he was urged to bow before his in‐laws.
He bowed deeply before them and they didn’t make things difficult for him.
Just when he thought he could finally take Qie Xieling home he was told, "You need to find his shoes first and you may claim your groom," said Grandma Wen and Luo Muchen wss defeated. His mother had told him to expect this but not to this degree.
He began looking around amidst a chorus of giggles and teasing from everyone. He looked under the bed, rifled through drawers, and explored the walk-in closet, his every move watched by amused eyes. 𝘧𝓇ℯ𝑒𝓌𝑒𝑏𝓃𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘭.𝒸ℴ𝓂
"Are you blind? You must be. They are clearly visible," said Wen Danzhe teasingly.
Qie Xieling glared at his uncle who shrugged his shoulders. It was as though he was saying it’s not my fault that your man is blind.
Feeling sorry for his man, Qie Xieling made subtle attempts to guide Luo Muchen, but his dad playfully intervened covering his face. "No cheating no cheating," said Nana Qie while laughing out loud.
Having looked everywhere he could think of, Luo Muchen’s gaze drifted to the balcony where a pair of shoes peeked out from behind a potted plant. A knowing smile spread across his face as he stepped outside, the laughter following him. He grabbed the shoes and before they could mess with him again he knelt before Qie Xieling, holding the shoes like precious treasures.
As he slipped them onto Qie Xieling’s feet, the room fell silent. Qie Xieling’s eyes met Luo Muchen’s through the veil his stare so intense that it was like a silent exchange of vows. The joyous uproar resumed bringing them back to reality.
The Qie family when they decided to go all the way they meant it. They didn’t allow Qie Xieling to walk out of the family home. He had to be carried out.
Luo Muchen gladly stood up, ready to run away with his sweetheart. He had been looking forward to this moment since the day he discovered his feelings for Qie Xieling. He lightly massaged his lover’s calf his smile that of pure bliss.
"I promise I won’t drop you," he whispered as he wrapped his arms around him. Qie Xieling nodded his head before replying, "You better not otherwise there will be no consummation tonight," and Luo Muchen who had been holding back for so long let out a soft chuckle.
"I won’t, I promise," he said as he lifted him. He was instantly enveloped by the familiar and intoxicating scent that was uniquely his man’s making him feel whole like something had been missing for a long time.
Qie Xieling wrapped his arms around his lover’s neck and with a playful smile he leaned in to whisper into Luo Muchen’s ear, "Am I heavy?"
Luo Muchen’s response was a soft chuckle, his voice a low murmur only for him to hear, "I have been preparing for this day for a very long time." His arms, strong and steady, affirmed his words as he lifted him with ease. Qie Xieling clung to him tightly afraid that he would drop him. He nuzzled against Luo Muchen’s neck his warm breath spraying on his lover’s skin through the veil. Luo Muchen felt itchy where his lover’s breath touched his skin. That desire that had been kept locked up for so long sprung up again. His Adam’s apple bobbed the thirst in his eyes evident.
"Be good. Don’t make trouble," he said his voice hoarse. Qie Xieling bit his lower lip stifling his smile.
