Saving the Heartthrob Frenemy-Chapter 494: Sharing a carriage with the enemy
Master Lee wiped his fingers and drank it all down before he heard Master Zi say, "Oh, by the way, you need to kill that ger he married from the Bi family. I can’t have my daughter sharing a husband with a hoe from the brothel. Do whatever you have to do to annihilate him."
Master Lee choked on the liquor burning holes into his throat before coughing vehemently. Master Zi set down his cup and asked, "What? Is that going to be a problem?"
Master Lee shook his head no while coughing even more his face red. Master Zi laughed softly before asking, "Too strong for you? I thought the Lee family were excellent drinkers. Apparently not." He continued staring at the man whose face was flushed but he knew very well it wasn’t from choking in the wine but the gu worm in the cup.
Master Zi was the type to give the most generous of benefits but that didn’t come without a price. Master Lee was just so blinded by his eagerness to attain power that he didn’t recognise the danger right in front of him. This gu worm would ensure that Master Lee would comply in the future.
"Drink up. After the competition we will soon be drinking wedding wine," he said with a glint of malice in his eyes. Master Lee drank even more completely blinded by his ambitions.

As the carriage swayed left and right, the tense atmosphere inside grew palpable. Qie Xieling sat stoically, his gaze fixed outside the window, ignoring the sickly Young Miss Zi’s persistent coughing. She sat across from him, her delicate features etched with worry.
And how on earth did these two end up sharing a carriage? Well, it was Jolie’s fault. Her gluttonous self had destroyed Zi Mixen’s carriage and now they were stuck together.
Earlier...
The Zi family had asked Lee Ya to accommodate their young miss but she wanted to add fuel to the flames and show Qie Xieling what to expect in the future when she gets demoted as the main wife to a concubine so she said no.
Her exact words were, "I will only share with my sister in law." Luo Muchen immediately refused and Lee Ya shrugged her shoulders before saying,
"Then my sister in law can only squeeze in with my future sister in law." She walked away soon after dropping that bomb.
Qie Xieling was really starting to think that Jolie was an enemy sent to him under the guise of helping him. He grabbed her arm and pulled her away. "Ow ow ow ow ow," exclaimed Jolie pretending like she was in pain. The guilt on her face said everything.
"You greedy little pig! Look what you did. Now I am stuck with the green tea bitch who uses her ailment for attention," whispered Qie Xieling seeming quite livid.
"I didn’t mean to but that bitch is hiding the good stuff, I can smell it... How about you interrogate her and get us the rest of her stash," she said and the more she spoke the more excited she was.
Qie Xieling, "..."
"You little... Are you crazy? Of course, you are. You are thinking with your stomach instead of thinking with your head," he said while poking her shoulder.
"Huh, you poked me? How dare you," she said before poking him right back.
"Don’t you dare," said Qie Xieling but of course, Jolie didn’t listen to him. She poked him real hard.
At this point, the adult who is also human shouldn’t escalate things but Qie Xieling was a childish adult. There was no way he was going to let that slide. He poked and poked her again with no remorse.
"Poke poke poke super poke. What are you going to do about it," said Qie Xieling and Jolie smiled slyly before putting him in a chokehold. The height difference didn’t even help Qie Xieling. A group of people watched from a distance in shock. Who exactly was the servant and who was the master was pretty confusing at this point.
Luo Muchen’s brows knitted together as he stepped forward intending to break them apart but Bo Ailun stopped him. "Young master, I think you should stay out of this one. You don’t want to be collateral damage." Luo Muchen clenched his fist. For some reason, it irked him to see them get along like that. Their close relationship made him feel so irritable that it was getting pretty difficult to hide. 𝒻𝓇𝑒𝘦𝘸𝑒𝒷𝓃ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝒸ℴ𝘮
Meanwhile, Qie Xieling’s breath came in short gasps as Jolie held him tightly in a playful but firm chokehold demanding that he apologise before she released him. He squirmed and twisted, attempting to break free from her grasp. His face flushed with a mix of frustration and amusement. "You should apologise to me for making me share a carriage with that green tea..."
Jolie’s grip tightened momentarily, causing him to wince. He reluctantly relented patting her arm. "Okay, okay, I’m sorry," he conceded, his voice tinged with a mix of defeat and amusement. "I apologise. Now let me go."
"Let me go who? Say it," she said and Qie Xieling sighed before saying,
"Jiejie, please let me go."
Jolie’s eyes sparkled with triumph as she released her grip on him. She stepped back, a satisfied smile playing on her lips. "Good boy. Now run along and find out where her stash is."
Qie Xieling couldn’t help but wonder where Jolie got this behaviour from. What he didn’t know was that his dad and his uncle fought like this over the smallest of things and it was Wen Qinxi always on the losing end just like him. Rubbing his neck, he couldn’t help but grin. "I will find her stash," he said and Jolie smiled happily but her smile soon sank when he continued to say, "...and eat them all."
Jolie, "..."
That was how that went down. He said he would find out where she hid those cakes but it was impossible for him to ask her. The tension alone in that small space was so intense that you could cut it with a blunt knife.
