Chapter 27 - Royal Creek

〘Date: 2/12 - Tuesday〙

〘Time: 3:30 PM〙

〘Location: Texas, San Antonio - Fluer Forum〙

Allie sighed softly as she sat with Jade at a cafe in a courtyard outside, scrolling through her phone as she checked for any news from Paris and Hannah. As she scrolled, she noticed a post from me and read the caption immediately, gasping with excitement.

Jade glanced over at Allie, raising an eyebrow as she sipped on her iced coffee. "Mmm..? What is it?"

"Ryder! He managed to convert the entirety of the Golden Crystals somehow! He posted a picture with Anastasia-Aurora as a complete slap to Tony's face!" Allie giggled, showing Jade her phone screen with cheerful excitement.

Jade looked at her phone screen, noticing Anastasia bashfully hugging me in the picture, her heart skipping a beat with slight jealousy. "M-Mmm... That's nice, so now we have more allies. Wait, but since she betrayed Tony, doesn't that mean her city just falls?"

"Yeah, that is an issue...but Ryder's family is full of wealthy people who will certainly fall behind his cause. I mean, his family is voluminous with different cultures and backgrounds pretty much," Allie said, feeling her phone buzzing and looked at her screen again.

〔Paris: Hannah and I managed to get a hold of an old girlfriend that attends this university. She lives in Royal Creek, Texas...a city that the Riches have control over.〕

〔Paris: Her name is Momo, well that's what we call her. If you ask around there, they'll know who you're talking about.〕

Allie read Paris's messages, replying back with her usual cheerful confirmation then stood up quickly from her seat. "Alright!~ We have some new leads for allies! Our first destination is Royal Creek for a girl named Momo...ahh she sent a picture of her!"

Jade stood up as well from her seat, walking toward Allie to inspect the picture as well with slight curiosity. The picture included a stunning woman with fair skin, turquoise colored eyes, and light brown hair with cyan highlights.

She had beautifully messy brown hair, styled in a bun with two pins keeping it all together. She also donned cute oval framed glasses, giving her an intelligent and graceful appearance.

"Wow, she's so pretty! I can't believe a girl like her lives in a city infested by Tony's influence..." Allie said, glancing up at Jade with an adventurous twinkle in her eyes.

Jade held her arms under her chest, glancing at Allie with a raised eyebrow. "Yeah...but I guess there's nothing we can do until we get there. However, I'm not too sure on this."

"Why? What's the problem? I have gas money if you need it for your motorcycle!" Allie said, reaching down to rummage through her handbag.

Jade stopped Allie by gently holding her wrist, giving her a concerned gaze. "That's not it. I'm talking about Paris and Hannah. Sure, they might say they stand with Ryder, but they haven't acknowledged him. Plus, Hannah's known for running her mouth...who's to say they aren't double agents setting us up?"

Allie met Jade's concerned look, feeling her protective squeeze on her wrist. She looked down at their hands, gently placing her other hand on Jade's with a soft smile. "I trust Paris and Hannah...I mean I've gotten to know them since the start of our Sophomore year. They don't seem to be the people to betray a friend without good reason."

"I understand what you went through as a musician with connections was...beyond explanation, but I promise that we won't ever betray you. Ryder will never betray you and neither will the rest of us," Allie reassured, meeting Jade's gaze with soft determination.

Jade closed her eyes, letting out a soft, resigned exhale. "Alright...but I'm just getting a bad feeling. We're going into this without Ryder or at least Jaiden. Can you even fight?"

"Of course I can! Ryder's family trained me as well! I'm literally his mom's second daughter~" Allie said, confidently placing her hands on her hips.

Jade ran her fingers through her own hair, letting out a soft, relieved sigh. "At least you can defend yourself if things go left. Alright, let's head out..."

Allie nodded, following Jade toward her motorcycle. The two boarded the bike, putting on their helmets then Jade started the engine. Soon, the two took off to Royal Creek, on a mission to expand our allies within Trinity Valley.

〘Date: 2/12 - Tuesday〙

〘Time: 3:45 PM〙

〘Location: Texas, San Antonio - Royal Creek〙

The two arrived at Royal Creek, a popular city that sat between the Leon Valley District and the Crystal Valley District, its bright neon lights acting as a colorful welcome for the two. The streets were bustling with people traversing the sidewalks, hanging around and loitering around.

Many police cars were stationed around nearly each block, patrolling the streets and abusing their power upon the innocents. Jade and Allie shuddered as they watched the small power trips around them, Jade speeding up to escape the rough areas of the city.

"I can't believe this is actually happening around here...Momo actually lives here?" Jade asked, keeping her gaze on the road ahead, disgusted with the mental image of what she just witnessed.

Allie let out a sound of uncertainty, gently hugging Jade's waist a bit tighter for comfort. She closed her eyes, a memory from Destiny Islands flashing in her head. "It...it reminded me of what happened 12 years ago...to me and Ryder at Destiny Islands..."

Jade could feel Allie's body tensing, her gaze softening as she grew concerned for Allie's safety at Royal Creek. As the two drove down the street, the alert of a police siren sounded in the air, alarming both girls into slight panic.

"Pull over your bike now!" A police officer ordered over his unit's speaker, trailing behind Jade and Allie.

"Fuck...we literally just got here..." Jade exasperated, pulling over to the side of the street and parking her motorcycle on the shoulder of the road.

Allie whimpered softly, gripping Jade's jacket a bit tighter, trying her hardest to calm herself down. "Jade...what's going on?"

"I don't know, but you need to calm down, you're gonna make us look suspicious..!" Jade said through her teeth, gently grabbing Allie's hand to calm her down.

The police officer stepped out of his car with a hardened expression, making his way toward the two girls with his notepad in hand. Once he reached the two, he jestered for Jade to raise her helmet's visor.

"Do I really have to..?" Jade asked in a deadpan tone, staring up at the officer.

"Yes, license and registration," The officer said, holding his hand out to take Jade's information.

"Why are you pulling me over? Do you have any probable cause?" Jade asked, defying the officer's order.

"It's a traffic stop. You were going 75 in a 45," The officer answered, his gaze never leaving Jade's assertive expression behind her visor.

Jade scoffed at the officer, clearly knowing he's lying and looking for trouble. Jade turned her gaze forward, her grip on her bike's handle tightening. She couldn't believe she was getting stopped for zero reason, knowing she and Allie were innocent.

'What the hell would Ryder do in this situation...? Tony knows Allie and I are allied with Ryder, what if this is one of his plans..?! I specifically stopped music for this very reason! I can't believe we walked into another trap! They led us right into a trap immediately!' Jade spazzed mentally, gritting her teeth as she began to slowly slip into her Whitespace.

"License and registration, ma'am. I don't have all day," The officer said, his hand still stretched out to recieve her information.

Allie held onto Jade tightly, looking up at her and felt her phone buzzing in her pocket. She looked at the officer, innocently holding her hands up. "Officer, can I get my phone out my pocket?"

"Go ahead," He answered, never turning his head toward Allie.

Allie quickly grabbed her phone, unlocking the screen to look at the message she got. As she read the message, her eyes slowly widened, a sickly lump of mucus getting caught in her throat.

〔Paris: Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you important information! Don't ever trust any officer there! If they find out you're against Tony and the Riches, you will be INCARCERATED on the spot! AVOID ALL LAW ENFORCEMENT!〕

〔Paris: P.S. Momo lives in 1721 Crown Rd.〕

Allie slowly looked up from her phone, her heart racing faster against her chest, hugging Jade's waist tightly. "JADE DRIVE NOW!!!"

Jade heard Allie's call, asking zero questions and started her bike, fully drowning herself into her Whitespace. She revved her engine, making it roar loudly and sped off before the officer could get a chance to grab her keys.

"Shit..! Those bitches are those Trinity Rats!" The officer grunted, hurrying toward his unit. "Code 1G, I repeat Code 1G...! Two suspects running from traffic stop!"

Jade sped down the roads as fast as she could, pushing her bike to its limits to escape the authority's chase. Multiple sirens sounded in the distance, each one growing closer than the last as they began gradually approaching Jade.

"Jade!" Allie cried out, noticing one of the wheels of a police car nearing her bike.

Jade revved her engine, speeding up even more and began speeding down the road, reverting back into her Rated-R Rockstar persona. Her adrenaline began rushing through her body, her mind filled with thoughts of protecting Allie, her closest friend.

She began splitting through traffic, lowering her head to avoid the mirrors of the cars near her. A few units got caught within the traffic, watching as Jade sped forward then made an illegal U-Turn, racing down the opposite lane.

The officer who stopped Jade watched as she raced down the street, gripping his steering wheel with a challenging smirk. "Oh...now I understand why mom finds this so fun. I'm going to bust these bitches...All units, she's heading down Rook Street!"

Jade continued racing forward, swerving around multiple corners, making it harder for any one to track her movements. The police continued giving chase to Jade, trying to cut off her pathways using their vehicles, but nothing was able to stop Jade.

She seemed to have an Eagle Eye, knowing the police force's pathways as if it were a playbook. She raced forward, hitting a ramp and jumping over the space between the highway and the alleyways she came from.

"Jade, are you insane?!!?!" Allie screeched, holding onto Jade for dear life and shut her eyes tightly.

The police force watched as Jade's bike crossed the distance, landing on the highway with a heavy impact. Jade began to Akira Slide along the road, revving get engine as a taunt toward the police then sped off down the highway with a wheelie.

"There's no way she made that jump! Exactly who is that chick?!" A police woman asked in disbelief, turning toward her supervisor, who was approaching her.

The supervisor watched as Jade raced down the road, rolling his shoulder and chuckled softly. "Based on how she drives and dodges authority...I can say for certain that is our famous little musician, The Rated-R Rockstar, Jade Bell..."

"Wait what? The sister to Paige Bell? THAT rockstar?! Oh my gosh, I love her musi—" The police woman began then cleared her throat, standing at attention in front of her supervisor. "I mean, her music is shit sir! Such a disgusting being!"

"I will be docking your pay for your failure and you have the luxury of going to P6 for the rest of the day," The man said, walking back toward his unit and got inside.

"Ugh...P6..?" The police woman groaned, moping back to her unit and reluctantly getting inside with a groan.

Meanwhile, Jade and Allie had managed to lose the police, the both of them starting to calm down from their high and dread. Jade rose her visor, letting out an exhilarated "wooo", a light laugh escaping her lips.

"Wooo!!! Oh my gosh! I haven't done that since I was 17! That was epic!" Jade exclaimed, laughing with a mix of excitement and shaky fear in her tone.

"Glad one of us had fun!" Allie nervously giggled, relaxing her body and resting her chin on Jade's shoulder.

"Sorry, sorry...I guess I slipped back into my old self when I used to be a serious musician. I used to run from the cops all the time with my old band, all because they hated that my music had an actual message," Jade explained, letting out a soft sigh and completely calming herself down.

"It's fine... I'm actually happy that you did go back to your old ways. It's saved our lives..." Allie said, her tone filled with sisterly affection and gratefulness.

Jade nodded, keeping her gaze ahead as she drove down the highway. "Of course...now let's go find this Momo chick. She better be worth the trouble.."

With that, Allie began using her GPS to track Momo's house, Jade speeding down the street in attempt to reach their destination in as little time as possible. The two of them were still on edge, both of them keeping a good eye out for the police and any other enforcers.

〘Time: 4:15 PM〙

〘Location: Texas, Royal Creek - Crown Road〙

Jade and Allie finally arrived in front of Momo's home, a simple one story home at the end of the street with an expansive backyard and a rather beautiful front lawn filled with small angelic statues and a garden of beautifully withered roses.

"Grandma! Where is my money, you old hag!" A mature woman's voice yelled out from inside the house, a huge crash sounding from inside.

"Whoa, watch how you speak to your elders, young wrench! I'll have your money when I have it! Your stupid King keeps taxing my shit, can't even buy an old lady a fuckin' box of cigarettes these days," An older lady barked back, her personality just as fiery as the first woman.

"And besides, you own a Zoo, why are you barking at me for money?" The older woman continued, letting out an annoyed groan.

Jade and Allie overheard the bickering coming from inside the house as they approached, the two glancing at each other with a mix of confusion and interest. Allie approached the door cautiously, ringing the doorbell then stepped backwards to stand next to Jade.

Suddenly, the house fell silent, the two women inside stopping their conversation to answer the door. Suddenly, the door swung open, a young woman within her early twenties standing in front of Jade and Allie with a baseball bat pointed at them.

Jade and Allie immediately froze, both of them raising their hands in immediately submission in the face of the mighty iron bat. The woman glanced between the two girls, inspecting the both of them with a careful gaze.

"Momo, who's at the door?" An older lady asked, scratching the back of her head as she walked to the door, noticing Jade and Allie on her porch. "Bah, some common girl scouts? I ain't interested in your scam!"

"We aren't girl scouts, we attend Trinity Valley and we come in peace, so can you drop the bat already? We are here for Momo, Paris and Hannah sent us," Jade retorted, her gaze never leaving from the bat in Momo's hand.

"W-We have the messages to prove it! We aren't an enemy we swear!" Allie added, her gaze shifting between Momo's surreal turquoise colored eyes and the steely gray baseball bat.

Momo let out a soft huff, resting her bat along her shoulder, closing her eyes and rubbing the back of her head. "Paris and Hannah, huh? I guess Hannah's big mouth strikes again...look, I'm a Fourth Year of Trinity Valley. I can't really do anything for you Second Years."

"So you know why we are here?" Jade asked, lowering her guard and holding her arms under her chest.

"The Tony verses Ryder thing going on. I know, and I'm supposed to be expecting his visit soon. He should be arriving here in half an hour," Momo said, looking at her phone to check the time.

"What? Ryder's coming to Royal Creek?" Allie asked with excitement, glancing over at Jade with bubbling glee.

"Hm, seems like he has business here as well," Jade said, looking over at Allie with a soft smile.

Momo nodded her head, lowering her phone to look at the two girls. "Yeah, he's headed over here any time soon. In the meantime, you two should come inside. It's not safe to talk outside."

Allie and Jade nodded, following Momo inside her house quickly and Momo quickly shut the door behind them, locking every lock on the door. She began leading the other two girls toward the living room, taking them toward the couch to sit down.

Momo's grandmother sat on her recliner chair, crossing one leg over the other as she smoked her cigarette with a judgemental gaze. "Hmm, so you two are from Trinity Valley University huh? What brings you two pretty faces to a rundown city like this?"

"Uhm...well, Ma'am—"

"Alright, let's get one thing straight. I might be 68 years old, but I'm still a young looking woman in my own right. You shall call me Amelia," Momo's grandmother interrupted, her fiery tone causing Allie to slightly back down.

"Geez, granny, you're scaring the guests. I wouldn't hurt to tone down your sass, you're starting to sound like a deteriorated old cog in a rusted machine," Momo sighed, leaning back against the couch with an exasperated sigh.

"Pah! If I'm scaring them off telling them my name, maybe two little kittens shouldn't have wandered from their safe space," Amelia scoffed, shrugging her shoulders with dismissal.

Jade's left eye subtly twitched at Amelia's slight dismissal of her and Allie, taking a soft breath and exhaled to calm the Rated-R persona within her. "Look, we came here for allies against Tony and the Rich Family. Paris and Hannah told us that you were trusted, so are you in or are we wasting our time?"

Amelia heard the fiery passion in her tone, a small smirk tugging at her lips. She chuckled softly and ashed out her cigarette in an ashtray. "I like the emo girl. She seems to be serious about this little revolution TVU's hero seems to be planning."

"First off, I'm not emo. I'm Alt. There's a difference. And two, we both are serious, it's just that all of us can't be bad cops during this and I don't want to play bad cop. Right now, Ryder's working hard on gaining allies, but the allies he gained isn't even going to dent Tony's overall influence," Jade clarified, her serious gaze meeting Amelia's with cool efficiency.

Amelia hummed softly in response, taking her last drag out of her cigarette before putting it out. "Honestly, what Ryder is doing isn't all that impressive to me. At his age, I was taking names in Texas with a Desert Eagle and a box of Santinas to smoke back when Rowan Grimm was President."

"So then what happened? Got too old for the spark, old cat?" Allie asked, her tone filled with sass from Amelia's shade toward me.

"Oop..." Momo covered her mouth, glancing over at her grandmother, trying to stop her laughter.

Amelia laughed softly at Allie's diss, rocking back and forth in her seat with a calm, cool grin. "That's exactly what happened. We become old and fragile...not me though~ I am a woman of the Highest over Earth, that's why I was blessed with Eternal Prime~"

"Fuck is that..?" Jade muttered under her breath, her expression slightly souring with confusion.

"Anyways, I'm not trying to dog on your boyfriend or anything. That hunk can sway me just by his looks alone. I mean, how can a woman not appreciate a fine islander?" Amelia sighed, beginning to daydream about me in her head.

Momo groaned softly, leaning her head back against the back of the couch. "No one wants to hear about your fantasies, you paradoxical hag."

"Oh quiet yourself, hater. You're simply just mad that I, being 68 and having the looks when I was 30, can find love better than you can. My love life is still very prosperous today," Amelia sighed dreamily, gazing off into the distance.

Allie and Jade glanced at each other again, the two confused on the actual dynamic between Momo and her grandmother. Jade just lightly sighed, lowering her head while Allie let out an awkward giggle, scratching the side of her face nervously.

Over the next few moments, Jade and Allie sat through many...many of Amelia's stories about her day before she was "chosen" by the Most High. Allie listened with enthusiasm, taking inspiration from Amelia's stories while Jade sat in boredom, mentally banging her head against a wall.

Soon, the doorbell rang causing Momo to spring from her seat. "I'll get it! I need a break from this history lesson anyway..."

"Yeah, you're not escaping what I did back in 2X15 again! When you come back here, you're gonna learn about me being the Queen of Quick Draw in the Wicked West Era of Texas!" Amelia called out, laughing softly as Momo sped toward the front door.

Momo sighed as she reached the door, opening it and noticed me standing in front of the door wearing my long coat with my mask attached to my side. Beside me stood Wendy, suited in her Dragon Suit, twin dragon designs woven all over her decorative suit.

"Well, well...if it isn't my little brother's best friend," Momo said, her voice laced with familiarity, her lips curling in a soft smile.

I crossed my arms, smiling at Momo as I met her eyes, looking her up and down. "You still think you're out of my league?"

"Yep..~ And I always will be. You can't handle me, and never will..." Momo hummed softly, locking eyes with me with inner satisfaction. "But...I'm sure the future can always change when you're more... experienced.."

"Mhm, says the girl who can't keep a boyfriend to save her life," I chuckled softly, pushing my way past her to walk inside.

Momo giggled lightly, watching as I invited myself inside then turned her gaze toward Wendy, giving her a respectful nod. Wendy smiled at Momo, tilting her hat down with a nod back, stepping forward and entering the house as well.

I walked into the living room, knocking on the wall before entering with a confident smile. "Guess who's back in town..~"

Allie immediately heard my voice, her head shooting toward me and she shot up from her seat, hurrying toward me and tackling me into a hug. "Ry!~ Oh my gosh, you don't understand how much I needed to see you..!"

"Ugh, finally...a break from the history lesson," Jade sighed with relief, falling back against the couch.

I chuckled at the two of them, holding Allie close in my arms and rubbed her hair, looking down at her with a protective smile. "You two didn't get hurt getting here right?"

"Mm-mmm..~ Jade kept us both safe getting here," Allie replied softly, her tone filled with sweet innocence.

"Good..." I said softly, smiling down at Allie and continuing to rub her hair. As I checked on Allie, I heard the sound of someone clearing their throat, turning my head toward the source.

"Well, I suppose once a man becomes King, he forgets his damn manners," Amelia teased, her tone a mix of raw familiarity and pure fiery energy. "Young men like you and my grandson are surely an issue, now come here and give me some sugar."

I laughed softly at Amelia, shaking my head and gently let go of Allie, making my way toward Amelia, giving her a tight hug as she stood up. "I didn't mean to ignore you, Granny Hunt..~"

"Mhm, you know the rules fine young man..~ I hope Matt has been treating you well..~" Amelia hummed, returning my hug and gently rubbed my back with a hint of possessiveness.

"Alright, alright, you can let him go now. He doesn't need your scent all over him," Momo said, pulling me away from Amelia by the collar of my coat, causing me to lightly gag.

"Oh please, he was enjoying my touch as he's always done for the last two years~ Isn't that right, Pooh?~" Amelia hummed, glancing at me as she sat back down in her chair.

I grunted softly as I rubbed my neck, sitting beside Momo on the second couch. "Right..."

Wendy stood next to the couch, her back against the wall with her arms crossed. "And hello to you Amelia.."

Amelia glanced at Wendy, letting out a soft exhale. "Ugh...And the Agency is also here. I forget my sweet cookie is associated with a Mafia...at least I can tolerate your leader."

"Just as we tolerate your antics, old yeller?" Wendy retorted, her breezy gaze scanning Amelia with judgement.

Amelia smirked with a nose exhale, her gaze meeting Wendy's with the same spark. "Old yeller...now there's a new one. Let's hope you can keep up with the same breeze you make from your mouth..."

"Alright, let's all settle down now. It's time we talk a bit of business now that I'm here. I am aware that we are in enemy territory, and I am also aware that you nor Granny are leaving here," I said, leaning forward and resting my arms upon my knees, interlocking my fingers.

"Damn straight we aren't! I'll be damn if I let a bunch of corporate made, bratty twig boned, Nepo babies ruin a city I fought hard to build up from the ground up! I refuse to let some greedy bastards tear down a city I made!" Amelia rallied, slamming her fist against the arm of her chair.

"Geez, calm down...you're gonna blow a blood vessel," Momo muttered, side eyeing Amelia and turned her gaze back toward me with curiosity. "So what's your plan? Just over throw Royal Creek's mayor?"

"Well, that's not gonna do much...The Rich Family will just replace him with a new one. We are at the point where we send a message, a message that will never be forgotten," I said, leaning back against the couch and rested my arm along the back.

"I've done my research on Royal Creek before coming here. Tony's cousin runs the city, and overthrowing him isn't enough to equalize the disrespect Tony did. And I'm also done with him hiding, I want to draw him out," I continued, my gaze shifting over to Amelia.

Amelia met my gaze, tilting her head up with a knowing grin plastered on her face. She chuckled lowly and grabbed her box of cigarettes, opening it and taking one out. "Momo, go get me a new box of Santinas and take the girls to get them some weapons. I'm gonna teach you all how to really overthrow a government."

"Ahh, shit...we don't brought out the Wild Witch of the West again," Momo chuckled, standing up from the couch and sighed softly. "Alright, girls. Let's ride out, gonna take you two to the range."

Jade and Allie felt a mix of nervousness and eagerness take over their body, the both of them now knowing it's their turn to play their roles. They quickly began to follow Momo out the door, Wendy following behind in case they get chased by law, leaving me and Amelia alone. Two Revolutionist...One Experienced and the other still Rising.
