Chapter 92: Chapter 79: Past Memories 4

In a large and strange room, shrouded in shades of gray, there Neil knelt. His body was pierced by a multitude of staffs, each bearing a myriad of rainbow colors that glimmered in the dim light, restraining his movements with an otherworldly force. His feet were bound by chains wrought of rainbow-hued crystals, their facets glinting ominously. Despite his dire predicament, Neil displayed no fear, nor did he exhibit any signs of pain. A dark-gray aura emanated from his form, hinting at the terrible power he possessed, even in his vulnerable state.

The room was silent, except for the sound of Neil’s labored breaths. The only source of light came from a dimly glowing crystal orb that hung above Neil’s head, casting an eerie rainbow glow across the room.

As Neil gazed up at the ceiling, his mind was consumed by the memory of his capture. He had been ambushed by an army of Regals and was caught off guard by the new power they wield that dragged him to a place where the laws of reality seemed to twist and turn with malice.

__________

Before him stood a group of five rainbow-colored individuals, each bearing slightly grotesque and twisted features that seemed to emanate malice and contempt. However, their form was similar to that of humans. Their piercing gazes fixated upon him, as if they were trying to penetrate his very soul.

One among them, a man with long flowing hair of rainbow hues, boasted three faces - one on his chest and two upon his neck - barked at him with a venomous tone. "Tell us where the Dimensional Knowledge is!!" he snarled, his voice echoing throughout the room.

Neil scoffed, undaunted by their threats. "For the 600,678th time, I don’t know," he replied in a booming voice, his cocky grin belying the danger he was in. "And even if I did, I wouldn’t give it up so easily. You shall never get your hands on it."

The man’s teeth gritted in fury, his three faces contorted in a hideous display of rage, as he realized the futility of his demands. The air crackled with an ominous energy, and it was clear that the Dimensional Knowledge was important to them.

"You are nothing but a wretched gem!" The man with three faces spat out with seething contempt, his voices ringing with malice.

Neil simply smirked at the man’s insults. "Heh, Do you really think I would be so foolish as to carry it on me for you guys to steal it?" he retorted, his voice laced with a mocking tone.

A hush fell over the room as Neil spoke the next words. "The Revolutionary Army won, right? And the White Diamond is dead," he declared boldly, his words striking fear in the hearts of the Regals present.

"How did you come to know of this?" The man with three faces inquired, his voice now trembling with nervousness. Neil’s response came with a smirk of superiority.

"I possess knowledge of everything that transpires across the dimensions," Neil spat out with a mixture of pride and disdain. "It’s how I keep myself entertained while imprisoned in this forsaken place."

The man’s voices quavered as he realized the full extent of Neil’s abilities. "So you were aware of the Revolutionary Army’s uprising all this time, and yet you chose to withhold this information from us?" he exclaimed, his hands pounding against the bars of Neil’s cage.

Neil merely shrugged, unimpressed by the "Why on earth would I divulge any information to you, you wretched bastards?" Neil sneered, his lips curving into a sardonic grin. "I am nobody’s ally, and I serve no one’s interests but my own," he replied coldly, his eyes glittering with a feral gleam. The man could sense the sheer power emanating from the being before him, and he knew better than to cross him.

The man with three faces didn’t take kindly to Neil’s defiance, and he growled out a warning. "If you don’t tell us what we want to know, I will make sure that your life is nothing but a living hell! Tell us where the Dimensional Knowledge is!"

But Neil was unfazed by the man’s threats. "There’s nothing you can use to threaten me," he countered, his voice tinged with bitterness. "I’ve already lost everything. If you push me too far, I’ll have no problem about ending my own life, and you’ll be left with nothing."

As he spoke, a chill crept over the assembled group, their palms gripping tightly as they glared at Neil with a mixture of fear and anger.

A burly rainbow-colored woman with a body made of shattered glass growled menacingly. "Let’s just kill this bastard and feast on his flesh!"

But the three-headed man shook his heads resolutely. "No," he said firmly. "He may be a prisoner, but he’s still a knowledge keeper for Gray Diamond. We cannot afford to waste his knowledge. Even if he won’t tell us where it is, we’ve tried to extract it from his mind to no avail. We’ll wait until the tier three Regals arrive."

Neil let out a dark chuckle, his lips curling into a cruel smile. "It seems that someone’s causing a ruckus outside," he said, his tone mocking. The Regals, who had been listening in on the conversation, grew alarmed.

"Let’s leave!" the three-headed man commanded, and the others followed him out of the room. But as they made their way down the corridor, the sound of screams and blasts filled the air, causing them to quicken their pace.

As he looked out the walls with all seeing eyes, he saw a young teenage girl locked in a fierce battle with the Regals. Her hair was dull white, and her golden eyes emotionless.

The young girl’s hands transformed into massive sci-fi bazookas that unleashed a devastating blast. The resulting chain of explosions tore through the Regals, leaving nothing but destruction in its wake.

As she looked down upon the carnage from the sky, her cold golden eyes glittering with an intensity, her technological wings fluttered gracefully in the air. Suddenly, the sky was filled with over a hundred thousand strange sci-fi guns, all pointed directly at the Regals.

Before they could even react, clocks appeared around the Regals, freezing them in place. Panic set in as they realized the magnitude of their mistake, but it was too late. Eva, showed no mercy. The guns rained down upon the Regals with a ferocity that shook the very foundations of the planet, obliterating their bodies in a hail of explosive fury.

"How dare a mere girl make a mess of the heavens?!" The Regals bellowed, their voices ringing through the air as they charged towards her with their weapons. But the girl, with her dark brown skin sparkling under their shiny colours, effortlessly parried all of their attacks.

"Kill her!!" they shouted, launching deadly slashes at her. But she moved with swiftness and ease, evading their strikes and weaving through their ranks. With a flick of her hands, a large golden portal materialized above them. From it, a planet began to descend, hurtling towards the Regals with crushing force.

The Regals gathered together as they tried to stop the planet from falling but despite their frantic attempts to stop it, the planet crashed down upon them. The girl watched with an unfeeling gaze as the planet smashed into the Regals, crushing them beneath its weight. The air was filled with the sound of their screams, explosions, and the sickening crunch of bones breaking. The girl stood motionless, her eyes fixed on the destruction before her, a faint smile playing at the corners of her lips. The girl surveyed the destruction with an eerie calm, her golden eyes glinting of satisfaction.

The deafening blare of the alarm resounded in the air, shaking Neil from his reverie. He raised his gaze to find a young girl with dark brown skin and metallic wings levitating in front of him, her voice a blend of machine and human.

"Are you one of Gray Diamond’s gem?" she inquired, her piercing eyes fixed on him.

Neil cocked his head. "What is it that you want, child?" he responded, a sardonic smirk stretching across his features.

"My name is Eva, and do you know what this is?" She held up a gray clock that was surrounded by a flurry of cryptic codes.

Neil gasped as recognition dawned on him. "Master’s clock!" he exclaimed, his eyes widening in surprise.

"So you are truly one of his people," Eva mumbled with a smile.

The aura around him began to flare, and the foundation of the cellar trembled beneath his feet. His eyes glowed with light as he confronted Eva, his voice resonating with a haunting echo.

"Why do you possess my master’s clock?"

Eva’s form met Neil’s gaze with fearful hesitation. She hesitated for a moment before explaining, her voice thick with sorrow, "He raised me like a daughter, but in the end, I couldn’t protect him!" Her grip on the clock tightened, and tears dripped down her face.

"Did they take his gem?" The aura around Neil gradually subsided as he looked at Eva with a serious expression, waiting for her answer. The air in the cellar was heavy with the weight of his question.

Eva’s hands trembled as she clutched the gray clock tightly. "No, the gem just disappeared," she whispered, her voice cracking with emotion.

"Disappeared? How is that possible?" Neil asked, his eyes flashing with concern.

"Before the Regals could grab it, it was enshrouded by a pink light and vanished," Eva explained, her voice growing more desperate with each passing word.

Relief washed over Neil’s face as he realized what had happened. "Then it’s safe," he said with a relieved sigh.

"That’s good then," Eva’s expression turned fierce as she met Neil’s gaze. "If you’re truly one of Gray Diamond’s people, then you must work with me," she said with determination in her voice. "I want the power to destroy all the Regals. I want to make them pay for taking my father’s life. And you can help me."

"Why me exactly?" Neil asked, his curiosity piqued.

"Because you’re the last of Gray Diamond’s gems," Eva said, her voice ringing with conviction. "You hold most of the knowledge of the dimensions in your mind. Even the know of destructive weapons."

Neil chuckled bitterly. "So everyone else is dead, all the gray gems?" he asked, and Eva nodded grimly.

"As you can see, my body has been restrained by these chains and staffs," Neil continued, his voice heavy with resignation. "No matter how much I try, they don’t break."

"If you work with me, I can increase the deterioration time of the chains with my power," Eva suggested, flying up to Neil’s face level and meeting his eyes.

Neil’s eyes bore into Eva’s with curiosity as he spoke in a low, husky voice, "So, you wield my master’s time magic?"

Eva stood before him, her expression calm and measured as she gave a solemn nod.

"How interesting," Neil mused, his lips curling into a sly smile. "I suppose I don’t mind working with a child."

Eva’s brow furrowed in a moment of hesitation, but she quickly regained her composure and raised her right hand towards Neil, her fingers splayed out in a show of trust.

"Then do we have a deal?" she asked, her voice laced with a hint of uncertainty.

Neil’s hand met Eva’s with a sharp snap, the sound echoing through the cavernous depths of the room. "Of course," he replied, a sly grin spreading across his face as he used his finger to shake her hand.

Eva leaned in closer to Neil, her voice low and urgent. "Listen to me, there’s a way to loosen the chains, but they won’t come off completely. It would only last only for a short period of time after sometime it would revert back, however, I believe I can fully get it off you once I’ve fully mastered the clock. Once I’ve done what I need to do, you must help me escape. I know you possess the power to defeat the tier 3 Regals."

Neil’s eyes widened with interest, a flicker of excitement dancing across his features. "Yes," he hissed, his voice dripping with anticipation. "I guess I’ve been yearning to break free from this imprisonment."

Eva’s lips curved into a small smile, her eyes glowing with an inner fire. "Then we have a deal," she murmured.

Neil nodded and Eva flew closer to Neil. "I’ll need you to focus your energy and channel it through the chains, while I use my power to speed up the process," she said, her eyes glowing with determination.

Neil closed his eyes and began to focus his energy, his body emitting a soft gray light. Eva placed her hands on the chains and closed her eyes as well, a golden aura emanating from her as clocks appeared around the chains. The chains began to glow and vibrate, and slowly but surely, they started to deteriorate.

As the process went on, Neil began to feel his strength returning to him. He felt the energy coursing through his body, and he knew that he was ready to face the Regals once again.

Finally, with a loud crack, the chains broke apart and fell to the ground. Neil stood up, feeling his muscles flex and stretch as he regained his freedom.

Eva smiled at him, and the two of them shared a moment of triumph. "Now let’s get out of here," she said, her voice filled with excitement.

______

Neil gazed into the distance, the memories of his past burning in his mind like an unquenchable flame. He sighed heavily, lost in thought as he looked up at the starless, dark skies above him.

"To think that those two sacrificed their life to find the new generation," Neil sighed as he looked at the dark skies before him and closed his eyes. Awakened from his flashbacks.

"When I first learned Aurianna and Leila were the new White Diamond, I wanted to kill them. However I can’t blame them for the former White Diamond’s mistakes," Neil chuckled as he swirled the rainbow-coloured chain on his hand.
