Saintess? Not Anymore! I'd Rather be a Destroyer-Chapter 87 - 74: Death O’Neil 3
Leila’s voice quivered with uncertainty as she spoke, "Well we are the new White Diamond, so I have no idea of how the Diamond stuff fully works," Neil’s eyes widened in surprise at the news.
"So, the two of you are now the second generation of White Diamond? How unfortunate," he commented, shaking his head while his expression grew dark.
Leila was confused and asked, "What do you mean?"
Neil’s gray eyes sparkled as he smiled mischievously, "Oh, you’re not aware of what your predecessor did?"
Aurianna shrugged indifferently, "Eva never shared such any information with us."
Eva materialized on the other end of the table, but she appeared to be a miniature version of herself, leaving Aurianna and Leila off guard, "That’s because I was unaware of the details myself, the only one I met was White Diamond’s former pearl Selenite," she explained with a hint of uncertainty.
"Using a fake body, huh?" Carol chuckled lightly.
Eva’s expression remained stoic as she responded, "It’s a newly developed model. When I employ it, I am unable to utilize my powers in this domain."
Neil’s face was filled with confusion; he interrupted Eva and Carol and asked, "How could you have met Selenite? I witnessed her die with my own eyes!"
"It’s more like a last fragment of her, transferred her position to me," Eva replied nonchalantly.
Neil pursed his lips and sighed heavily, "I see...I didn’t believe it was possible. However, when it comes to Diamonds and their pearls, the concept of impossibility loses all meaning," he chuckled darkly as he traced his fingers over the necklace around his neck.
Eva’s tone grew serious as she asked, "Neil, what knowledge do you possess regarding the Diamonds?"
Neil’s lips curved into a sly smile as he looked at Eva, "What do I stand to gain by telling you? I can see that you’ve lost a significant portion of your power."
Eva gritted her teeth and glared at Neil, feeling the anger and frustration bubble up inside of her.
"The Regals took it away didn’t they, the master’s clock," Neil continued, casting a malevolent glare towards Eva, as an overwhelming pressure descended upon the vicinity, causing all those within its grasp to struggle to breathe.
"Shut up!" Eva snapped, her voice trembling with emotion. Tears streamed down her face as she struggled to contain the pain and anger that surged within her.
Neil’s eyes widened in surprise. An image of a memory of him and Eva flashed in his mind. He remembered he was in a bright rainbow colored cellar engulfed by a piercing sensation, akin to being impaled by numerous rainbow-colored spears, while his body was ensnared by chains of the same ethereal hue. Before him stood teenage Eva, her expression inscrutable as she gazed at him with her unyielding golden clock eyes. She extended her hands to him in a gesture both beckoning and treacherous. Neil’s heart raced with both excitement and interest, and against his better judgement, he succumbed to the siren call of her smile. With a final gasp, he reached out to grasp her outstretched hands with a smile.
Softly, Aurianna uttered the name that held a weight of emotion in the air, "Eva..." Her mind swirled with confusion, I’ve never seen her act so emotional,’ She thought.
Neil’s voice pierced the silence, interrupting her thoughts, "Hey, calm down, calm down. I’ll tell you, okay? So stop being so cranky." His words resonated with an air of impatience as he returned to the present from his distant memories. His expression shifted to one of solemnity, "You two, girls, hold the title of the White Diamond of Peace. Or, at least, you were supposed to."
Leila spoke up, her voice heavy with understanding, "Our destructive nature has led us astray from that title, is that it?" Neil nodded his head gravely, acknowledging her observation.
"Correct, but you two would get a new title later on," he said.
"Why do we speak of titles when we should be asking more about the Diamonds?" Aurianna scoffed, a hint of impatience tinging her words. "For example: Who was the former White Diamond? What kind of person was she? Who among them is the most powerful?" She demanded, her eyes blazing with curiosity.
"Good questions," Neil nodded thoughtfully.
"White Diamond was a traitor," he continued, his voice heavy with disgust. "She sought to gain more power by betraying and killing off the other Diamonds. However, her plans were foiled, and she failed." His words hung in the air.
"So she was a bad person, then?" Aurianna raised an eyebrow.
"She is the most despised goddess in all the dimensions right now," Neil said with an ominous smile.
Aurianna pursed her lips, a sense of unease settling in her stomach. "I see," she murmured softly.
Neil’s eyes flickered towards the two women, his expression solemn. "If I were you," he began, his voice low and urgent, "I would keep a low profile. Don’t go flaunting around about your identity as the White Diamond." His warning was stark and clear.
"Why?" Leila asked, her voice quavering with uncertainty.
"Because...," Neil replied, his tone taking on a darker edge, "Regals would come for you. And believe me when I say, you want to avoid crossing paths with them."
"Eva said something about this before," Aurianna mumbled.
"Regals have been capturing and devouring gems for billions of years," Neil explained, his tone grim. "Their insatiable hunger has caused them to grow exponentially in power throughout this time. If even a low-tier Regal were to capture and devour you, their power would increase dramatically."
"So basically, we kill any Regals we see," Aurianna grinned, her voice laced with a hint of excitement at the prospect of battle. Neil let out a light chuckle, a glimmer of amusement in his eyes.
"You think it’s that simple?" Neil chuckled softly, but his amusement was tinged with caution. "Don’t be so quick to underestimate them," he warned, his gaze darkening. "Regals are not so easily defeated. If you doubt me, just ask Eva." Aurianna’s grin faltered, replaced with a frown of uncertainty.
Neil laughed bitterly, the sound ringing out like a dark omen. "Even a goddess like her, at her current state, could only kill a few low-tier Regals. Against a rank 6 Regal, she was powerless," he explained, the weight of the situation clearly visible on the faces of Eva, Carol, Aurianna and Leila as their expressions darkened.
"How powerful are rank 6 Regals?" Leila’s voice was barely above a whisper, her fear palpable.
Neil’s eyes glinted with a dangerous light as he replied, "They possess the power to destroy entire universes. These bastards are the stuff of nightmares," his words sending shivers down Aurianna and Leila’s spines.
Aurianna’s confusion was evident in her expression as she asked, "I’m having trouble understanding their power. Can you explain it in terms of ranking?"
Neil let out a heavy sigh, his eyes reflecting the gravity of his words. "Regals are ranked on a scale of one to ten, with rank one being the highest and rank ten being the lowest, but don’t let that fool you. Even a rank ten Regal has the power to wipe out a minor world," he explained to Aurianna and Leila, causing them to shiver a bit with fear.
"So who is the strongest Diamond?" Leila asked, her curiosity piqued.
"It should be quite obvious," Eva said with a chuckle, crossing her arms in front of her.
"The Black Diamond," Aurianna and Leila said in unison.
Neil’s brows furrowed as he struggled to make sense of the information. "How can this be? Wasn’t it always the Golden Diamond?" he asked, his confusion evident.
"It’s the Black Diamond, in the Diamond ranking of the system," Eva clarified, her voice tinged with a hint of unease.
Neil shook his head in disbelief. "Diamond rankings, Diamond System? Like the ones to level up? That’s preposterous. Such a System never existed before," he exclaimed, clearly taken aback by this revelation.
As Eva, Leila and Aurianna exchanged nervous glances, uncertain of how to explain. Finally, Eva spoke up, her voice trembling slightly, "Then what is this system that has attached itself to the girls?"
Neil’s voice trembled with urgency as he asked, "How was the system like when you first saw it? Like the color?"
"It was pink," Eva replied with a hint of concern in her voice.
"That System? Don’t tell me." Neil let out a frustrated groan as an image of two people with pink hair flashed in his mind. "Seriously, those two fools," he muttered under his breath.
"Do you know what the system is, Neil?" Eva asked, her voice edged with concern.
"I don’t know," he lied, hoping to avoid further questioning.
Eva narrowed her eyes, clearly not convinced by Neil’s answer, "So you won’t tell?" She scoffed. "Are you keeping something from us?" She shot back, a hint of irritation creeping into her voice.
Neil hesitated for a moment before finally speaking. "All I’ll say is that the system is that there’s no need to worry because it will protect them. They will be safe, as long as they are connected to it."
Eva, Aurianna, and Leila exchanged nervous glances, sensing that Neil was hiding something from them.
"And when it disappears?" Eva asked.
"That’s the day they stand on their own," Neil said with a solemn expression.
"I don’t really care about what the System is, as long as it helps us, it doesn’t seem bad," Aurianna grinned and Leila nodded in agreement, causing the tension in the air to calm down. Meanwhile, poor Carol was just sitting in a corner, confused by the entire conversation as she gnawed on some meat.
’I got no idea, what these people talking about,’ Carol cried inwardly.
"So is it bad if the Black Diamond is the strongest?" Leila asked.
"It terrible because if the Golden Diamond isn’t stronger than the Black Diamond, there would be no one to suppress the new Black Diamond," Neil’s voice trembled.
"It doesn’t sound that bad," Aurianna replied, shrugging. "Just wait until you find out she also possesses the purple Diamond."
Neil almost chocked on his breath, his voice trembling with fear, "What...the ....hell? That’s not possible. It’s not possible. No Diamond can survive the power of the two gems!"
Eva’s voice was calm but heavy with meaning. "Yet there is a living existence of that."
Leila remained composed as she asked, "Is that really a bad thing?"
Neil shuddered, "The former Black Diamond alone was a walking disaster. In fact, she was the most twisted of all the Diamonds, she was pure darkness. Initially, there were a thousand Dimensions, but because of the battle between the Black Diamond and the Golden Diamond, over four hundred Dimensions were wiped out and they both perished."
"Dimensions?" Aurianna asked, her eyes widened in surprise and Leila wondered, their minds struggling to comprehend what a dimension is.
"Seriously, you guys don’t know what dimensions are?" He asked and looked at Eva for confirmation, and she nodded.
"They lived in the medieval times, so their knowledge of archeology and space is limited," Eva explained
"So can you explain Neil?" Leila then turned to Neil, hoping for a clearer explanation. Neil let out a heavy sigh, his eyes darkened as he spoke, "Hah, well, basically she can destroy your worlds with a slap of her hand," he gave a thumbs up.
"That’s crazy!" Aurianna gasped with a surprised expression.
"It’s so crazy it’s unbelievable," Leila said calmly.
"That’s the truth," Neil nodded.
"Then what if she goes against a tier 1 Regal?" Eva asked.
Neil laughed, "Ko,ko,ko,ko,ko," he said with a nervous grin, "Ha, they wouldn’t stand a chance. Not even a hundred of tier 1 Regals can match against the former Black Diamond. All they can do is injure her at most."
He scratched his head, "The only one who could probably fight on par with the Black Diamond of Chaos, Calamity and Destruction, was the Golden Diamond of Order and Balance."
"Is it possible for us to beat her? The Black Diamond," Aurianna asked with a determined look.
"Depends if you can get stronger than her. You’re lucky you have Eva, a time goddess, on your side. So, what’s her level?" Neil inquired, stroking his chin and twirling his beard.
"She is at level 10,000," Aurianna replied nonchalantly, and Neil let out a cough while his brows furrowed with concern
"With your current level, you’ll surely lose," he concluded bluntly.
"Well, I’m sorry to break it to you, but the new generation is pretty much screwed," Neil retorted, smirking.
Aurianna raised an eyebrow. "How can you say that?"
"Whoa there, Mr. Doom and Gloom! Don’t go crushing their dreams before they even have a chance," Eva intervened, tapping her fingers on the table. "We can’t just assume the new generation is going to be as bad as the old one."
Neil leaned back in his chair and shook his head, "As long as she has the Black Diamond gem, she’s going to be corrupted and lose her sanity."
"But she has the purple Diamond," Aurianna reminded.
"Yes, how could I forget that," Neil knocked his head, "Maybe there’s a chance she can maintain her sanity. Well, I hope she does."
"How come?" Eva asked. 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚
"Because the Purple Diamond Gem gives the power to create life," Neil explained as a hologram image of a purple gem appeared in his hand.
"The power of creation and destruction is a fearsome combination," Neil said with a grave tone, his hologram gem flickering in his hand. "The Black Diamond’s corruption could be too much for anyone to resist, but with the Purple Diamond’s power, she can purify the Black Diamond’s corruption."
"So she has the power to destroy and create life?" Eva asked and Neil nodded.
Aurianna gripped her palms and got up, "I don’t want to lose to her, whoever she is, I want to be prepared to fight on equal footing with her!" She declared.
