Saintess? Not Anymore! I'd Rather be a Destroyer-Chapter 70 - 57: Demon General

’Why is she so dramatic?!" Leila thought as she couldn’t help but giggle at her sister’s funny expressions.
"I always wondered what happened to Nero Search," Aurianna muttered and closed her eyes thoughtfully, "I just remembered about it now."
[ It became integrated as part of yourself. ]
"I guess that’s why my senses are very good!" Aurianna declared proudly, raising her nose high.
"Hmm so Leila, what are we gonna do next?" Aurianna asked enthusiastically as her eyes sparkled.
"Well we must fuse your skills, there’s just too many," Leila said.
"Fuse skills? Is that possible?" Aurianna asked and tilted her head, a bit confused by the possibility.
"Well yeah you join two or more skills to gain a better skill," Leila explained and Aurianna nodded. She grinned as she stared at the screen before her displaying her stats and patted the space on the ground next to her for Leila to move closer.
Leila moved closer and Aurianna watched the screen attentively, ’I guess a sister like her has a use.’
’It’s funny how she doesn’t know about basic fusion. How dumb can she be?’ Aurianna suddenly heard a voice in her head, and she and Leila stared at each other.
Aurianna’s face twisted with anger as she glared at Leila, her cheeks puffed with fury. "I heard a voice saying I was dumb, was it you?"
"I’m sure I didn’t say that out loud. By the way, I heard someone say a sister has her uses!"
’’I don’t remember saying it out loud." Aurianna hissed through gritted teeth.
"So now we can suddenly read each other’s mind," Leila concluded and snapped her fingers. Aurianna stared at her in a bit of shock, then her eyes turned gloomy.
Leila merely shrugged, a sly smirk playing at the corners of her mouth. "Perhaps it is a curse, or perhaps a gift," she mused, her eyes glittering with mischief.
"This sucks, doesn’t it mean anything I think about, you would immediately know? How is this even possible...?" Aurianna sulked as she drew circles on the ground.
"Why do you say it like it’s a bad thing?" Leila asked, her voice laced with a hint of curiosity.
’Because how am I supposed to plot against her and probably make surprise attacks, if she can read my mind!’ Aurianna exclaimed in frustration.
"I heard that!" Leila replied, her tone cool and collected.
"Damn you!" Aurianna gritted her teeth and growled, "And curse this power."
[ Congratulations Diamond Synchronization process has been completed. Awakening process reached 65% ]
"I’ve been seeing this for a while, yet I’m still confused about its purpose," Leila mumbled and Aurianna nodded in agreement.
[ Both of you are the White Diamond, so the more you bond, the higher your Awakening process. So good luck in bonding. ]
Aurianna rose from the ground, brushing off dirt from her clothes. Her hair swayed behind her as she sneered at Leila, "Urgh , why should I bother getting along with you, when I would kill you one day for your gem?"
Leila’s arms were folded across her chest as she nodded in agreement, "I highly agree, emotional attachments are quite unnecessary. They just weaken you and leave a weakness for others to exploit."
Aurianna’s eyes narrowed before her lips curled into a smirk. "I guess we can agree on something."
Leila responded with a curt, "Indeed."
As the two women continued their discussion, Aurianna’s thoughts began to stray. She couldn’t deny the thrill of their chat, and the moments of the moments they fought together. Now, with Leila by her side, she found herself feeling something she couldn’t quite identify. A sense of respect, maybe even camaraderie. ’Wait a sec, was I just bonding with her? Now this isn’t right, I’ve already disconnected myself from emotional attachments, but not gonna lie, Leila is kinda cool (´ε` ).’ Aurianna pondered and Leila giggled.
"Well back to what we were doing," Leila clapped her hands, interrupting Aurianna’s thinking. "System, let’s fuse Aurianna’s skills!"
[ Which ones? ]
"Healing Magic and Rejuvenation," Leila mentioned.
"Wait a sec, how are you able to see my skills?" Aurianna questioned, a bit surprised.
"Did you forget we’re the same, Diamond?" Leila sighed and Aurianna scratched her head and blushed.
"But I can’t see yours!" Aurianna pointed at Leila.
"That’s because I got a skill that is able to hide my stats," Leila stated, and Aurianna nodded thoughtfully.
"I want that skill too! But I spent all my damn points!" Aurianna cried as she used her hand to hit a nearby pillar.
Leila ignored Aurianna’s antics and looked at the white screen before her, "So now please fuse Healing Magic, Healing Touch, Revival, and Rejuvenation."
[ Fusion completed. Skills have been turned into Arcana Wings of seraphim. ]
[ Arcana Wings of Seraphim
| With this skill, you shall possess the power to restore life to those whose HP is nearing the brink of death within mere minutes. You’re also able to revive anyone who has died for a span of five days. Furthermore, should your physical vessel be lost, your very soul shall be resurrected, and your body regenerated. Your affinity with light magic and the power to heal shall be increased, and your mana shall be refilled with an incredible speed when running low. |]
"That’s not bad," Aurianna muttered near Leila’s face, a bit surprised by what she was seeing.
’I didn’t even get this much benefit on my first day of being a Saintess.’ Aurianna thought as her eyes turned dark.
"Next, please fuse, Death Magic Gunners Despair, Sniper shot, Guncicles, and Burst," Leila commanded, and the skill names merged together on the screen and a bright skill appeared.
[ Fusion completed. You’ve gained the skill, Auras Sogen. ]
[ Auras Sogen
| With this skill, you gain prowess in handling firearms of any kind. However, the true power of this skill lies in its primary ability, which allows you to summon a monstrous and sleek bazooka. From afar or up close, you shall be able to take aim and unleash a massive blast that shall reduce everything around you to nothingness. This skill shall draw upon the mana present in the surrounding environment and the wielder, before compressing all that energy into a single, devastating blast. But beware, for this skill is not without its costs. Should you lack the requisite mana, utilizing this power shall exact a toll on your very body. | ]
"I can’t wait to try it out!" Aurianna squealed excitedly as she stared at Leila, waiting to see what would happen next.
"Now fuse, Sharp Eyes and Improved critical," Leila instructed, and the same process happened again.
[ Fusion completed, you have obtained Absolute Aim. ]
[Absolute Aim
| You never miss a shot. Well, you may miss, but no matter how far the target or how adverse the conditions, you’ll hit your mark with pinpoint accuracy. When activated, you’ll have a 360° range and be able to shoot from kilometers away. But be warned, the power of this skill can strain your eyes if used too frequently. Use it sparingly, or risk being left blinded in the dark for a period of time. | ]
"Fuse, Sprint, Double Jump, Ghost feet, Air Dash."
[ Fusion completed, you have gained Super Reflex, Whirl Feet. ]
[ Super Reflex
| Through this skill, you unlock a heightened ability to dodge and evade incoming attacks with incredible speed and agility. Your movements become graceful and almost supernatural as you effortlessly dodge incoming strikes and weave through obstacles. You become attuned to the slightest movements and nuances of your surroundings, allowing you to react with lightning-fast reflexes. As you continue to hone this skill, your body’s flexibility increases, allowing you to contort and twist in impossible ways to avoid danger. | ]
[ Whirl Feet
| With this skill, your footsteps fade into the void, allowing you to move in silence. Your speed and agility intensify, enabling you to leap to towering heights. When you strike with your legs and feet, your strikes become lethal and ruthless, striking your enemies down with a fury that leaves them crippled and shattered. |]
"Hmm fuse Smooth Trigger Pull, Magical Arsenal, and Ring of Light I think these would make a good skill!" Leila smiled as she tapped the skills, and Aurianna watched in anticipation.
[ Fusion completed, you have gained Phantasma. ]
[ | With this skill, a deadly defense mechanism is conjured. A group of guns, hovering around the user, acts as a powerful shield against any incoming threats. This defense can be amplified, as the skill activates an automatic shooting system that shoots down any enemies that approach too close. The user’s shooting rate also increases, allowing them to retaliate with deadly accuracy. | ]
"Lastly, Fuse Radiant Blast, Divine Judgement, Demon Gnomes, and Rocket Bazooka."
[ Fusion completed. You have gained the skill, Babylonia. ]
[ | With the use of this skill, a realm of space is unlocked, and massive, colossal hands wielding artillery weapons emerge to wreak destruction upon your foes. The true power of this skill lies in the creation of spectral skulls of light that relentlessly assault and obliterate any targets until they are utterly vanquished. However, the cost of this ability is steep and reliant on your mana reserves. Overindulgence in this power may bring about dire consequences. |]
Leila rose from the ground and stretched her arms and back. "Well, I suppose that concludes the fusion," she said, her voice tinged with a bit of weariness.
"What no more cool skills?" Aurianna pouted, summoning a revolver and twirling it around in her hand.
"For now, yeah," Leila replied evenly.
"Well, I guess it’s good to have a variety of skills, so others won’t be able to predict your attack pattern," Aurianna conceded, a glint of mischief in her eyes.
"You’re right," Leila agreed, gazing down at her fading hand, "And I also guess our time here is up."
"How, we couldn’t have been fighting those Void Reavers for that long? I wanted to test my new skills on you," Aurianna said innocently, and Leila shook her head.
"If we were here that long, why didn’t my level increase much?" Aurianna questioned crossing her hands and noticed they were fading.
"Probably because I killed a lot more than you," Leila bragged, a smug smile on her face.
Aurianna seethed with anger. ’I hate her guts and that arrogant smile. Just you wait, one day I’ll be strong enough to kick your ass!’ she fumed inwardly.
"Tomorrow let’s have a duel. That way you’ll be able to try your new skills," Leila suggested, and Aurianna grinned.
"I accept your challenge. But be warned, I don’t give up easily in a fight!" Aurianna declared, pointing a finger at her rival.
’So do I. Well, see you here tomorrow little sister Aurianna," Leila smiled before she vanished into thin air.
"See you, Leila."
____________
Aurianna opened her eyes, groggy and disoriented. The softness of her pillow offered a fleeting comfort, as she noticed she was back in her room.
"Ahh, the pleasure of sleeping on a soft, luxurious bed."
"I guess Leila is not so bad," Aurianna muttered to herself.
"Oh, so you guys had fun?" Eva popped up beside Aurianna and sat beside her. ’I guess my expectations of them hating each other was wrong.’
Aurianna turned her head to face Eva, "It was kinda fun, not with Leila in terms of getting along. Her calm personality is creepy!... But I mean someone who can understand me like you, and I can understand her. It’s not so bad."
Eva simply smiled, "You and Leila seemed to have bonded well, I see."
Aurianna grumbled, "Don’t get the wrong idea. We’re just tolerating each other for now."
Eva raised an eyebrow, "Is that so? Well, it’s good to see that you’re at least making progress."
Aurianna sighed, "I guess. But what about you, Eva? You’ve been very secretive about yourself."
Eva’s expression turned somber, "There are things I prefer not to share at the moment. Perhaps in due time."
Aurianna nodded as she could see a hint of sadness in Eva’s eyes.
"I shall respect that. Well, I’m going to sleep goodnight!" Aurianna said, trying to change the subject and used her blanket to cover her face.
"It’s already morning," Eva beamed as she opened the curtain to reveal traces of the early morning sun.
"Damn you!" Aurianna seethed as she clenched her bedsheets.
As Aurianna reluctantly got up to start her day, she couldn’t help but feel a sense of unease. There was something off about Eva, something that made her wonder what secrets she was hiding. But for now, Aurianna had to focus on the day ahead and hope that whatever Eva was hiding she would one day reveal to her.
___________
In the abyssal realm, where molten rocks and charred ground met the horizon, loomed a colossal fortress made of black and golden walls. Inside, a thriving kingdom with countless buildings and skyscrapers sprawled. The streets bustled with beings of all shapes and sizes, some far from the likes of human, some close but different. Some possessed pointed ears, others had fluffy ears and tails, and some sported wings or scales.
In the heart of the kingdom, a massive golden castle stood, overlooking the lands within the walls, surrounded by fields of grain and forests of trees. Workers toiled in the fields, contented and joyful.
Deep inside the castle, in a dimly lit room with a massive key shaped window, the sun’s evening rays pierced through. A beautiful brown-skinned girl sat in a butterfly position, her long silky white hair tied into a ponytail. Suddenly, she opened her eyes abruptly and stood up, walking towards the door and opening it.
"Well, Lady Leila, I haven’t seen you wear such a lovely smile in ages!" a young man with horns and black sclera exclaimed, his eyebrows arched in surprise. He gazed at Leila’s eyes, which she concealed with black spectacles.
Leila brushed the dust off her black and white maid outfit and smiled at him.
"Yes that’s because I met an interesting person in my dreams," she said as she strolled down the corridors with him.
"Umm, Lady Leila," The young man spoke hesitantly, "Please the humans are about to attack our base again."
"My, my, they are getting bolder and bolder by the day," Leila laughed.
"The Demon Generals have already assembled in the throne room," he announced, and Leila nodded and disappeared.
Leila then materialized in a throne room dominated by an elaborate golden throne. The walls and ceiling boasted intricately carved marble reliefs depicting war scenes. Multiple large tapestries adorned the walls, while colossal columns supported a colossal vaulted roof.
There is also a long table with many chairs which was occupied by a group of people And pair of enormous golden statues flank the door, each depicting a queen with horns in royal attire. An array of weapons can be found on display near the table: swords, spears, daggers, maces, and axes.
Leila glanced at the people in the room with a passive smile, and one man clicked his tongue at her.
"You’re late!" he sneered.
"Should I say I’m sorry? You know when I’m in meditation I prefer not to be disturbed Anubis," she said coldly, her voice laced with a hint of ice. Her head facing a gray-skinned man with scale-like skin and its pupils. His head looked like that of a lizard, and he wore a black suit of armor.
A young woman suddenly squealed in delight at the sight of Leila and threw herself at her, clinging to her like a vine. "Leila, you came!" she cried, golden eyes brimming with emotion.
"You should greet your mother once in a while," the woman pouted as her golden eyes stared at Leila.
’She reminds me of a mother who feels wronged,’ Leila thought as she carried the woman and placed her before her.
"Master it’s good to see you’re safe," Leila said with a respectful bow, and the woman huffed at her.
"Call me mama!" The woman insisted, pouting.
Leila hesitated. "Master Genueva--"
"You’re so strict," Genueva whined, her six horns glinting in the dim light.
"Ahem," Leila cleared her throat, shooting a nervous glance at the imposing figure before her. "It would be disrespectful to call the Demon King ’mama’." Genueva is a beautiful hazel-skinned woman with long golden hair and golden eyes. She had six horns on her head and two dragon wings behind her back.
"But you were so adorable as a child," Genueva crooned, a glint of amusement in her golden eyes and Leila smiled at her warmly.
"Shall we get down to business, mother?" Leila asked and Genvueva beamed, and her face immediately turned serious.
"Everyone, I hope you know the reason you were all called here?" she asked, her voice carrying the weight of a monarch and they all nodded their expression grave."
"The humans are launching another full-scale attack here," Genueva announced, her words ringing out like a death knell.
"Those disgusting bastards don’t give up!" A young girl with horns that looked like rocks covering fire growled angrily. Her flaming red eyes filled with hatred.
"They are quite persistent on making every demon low-life slaves," another man chimed in, his crimson wings fluttering with anger.
"I highly doubt that," Leila shook her head, her voice calm but firm and everyone stared at her in disbelief.
"Why?" a centaur-like creature asked, his eyes narrowing.
Leila’s gaze flicked to Genueva before she spoke. "I found out that they’re after my mother’s horns," she said, her tone even.
"Genueva..." the winged man breathed, his expression troubled.
Genueva pursed her lips and sighed, "Leila is right. The humans have found out that the horns of a Primordial Dragon can help a human attain immortality, and also control demons at will, so they want my horns. They gave up on enslaving all the demon kin. But there’s no way I would allow them!" Genueva said with a determined look. "The humans aren’t stepping an inch into this Kingdom. You all hear!!"
"Yes, Master!" they shouted in unison.
