Saintess? Not Anymore! I'd Rather be a Destroyer-Chapter 35 - 22: Death Harpy Teacher part 2
Check your stats," Carol commanded, fixing her gaze upon Aurianna.
"Give me a moment to catch my breath, okay?" Aurianna grunted, her eyes regarding Carol with an air of animosity.
"Just wait a few seconds," Carol said before momentarily disappearing. She reappeared shortly after, returning with an enormous Goigler, towering over her at four times her height. Swiftly, she pierced the creature’s body, extracting a peculiar orange heart the size of her fist, which she placed in Aurianna’s hand. "Eat it."
Aurianna’s stomach churned, the sight of the grotesque heart making her nearly gag. "Eww! I’m not eating that!"
"I said eat it! Do you hear me?" Carol demanded, stretching the heart toward Aurianna.
Reluctantly, Aurianna observed the heart in her hand, unsure of how to consume it. Growing impatient with Aurianna’s hesitation, Carol became annoyed and forcefully thrust the heart down her throat.
Aurianna chewed and swallowed the heart with great difficulty, battling against her disgust. But within moments, an unimaginable pain ignited in her stomach, her heartbeat gradually slowing down. Grey and orange veins began to snake their way upon her face and eyes, progressively robbing her of her senses.
"Am I going to die?" However, after what felt like an eternity, she began to breathe normally again, and her surroundings started to regain clarity.
[ You have Devoured a level 70 Adult stage speed Goigler, agility has increased by 166, you have gained the skill {Swift Movement} ]
Carol, observing Aurianna’s struggle, explained, "After every training session, where we hunt monsters, you devour their hearts and flesh to enhance your strength."
Aurianna, still trying to comprehend what had just occurred, stared at Carol with a mixture of disbelief and confusion. "How is it possible to gain stats by eating a monster? It’s not possible!"
Carol, looking slightly perplexed, responded, "Why? Don’t you acquire stats by consuming high-level monsters in your world?"
Aurianna replied, "No, in my world, consuming monster flesh is poisonous and often leads to curses. Most people who eat monster meat end up dying permanently, with no chance of revival."
Carol’s expression turned thoughtful. "I was merely testing a theory with you. I didn’t expect you to actually gain stats. It’s a skill that I believed was unique to my race, but it seems you possess it as well. However, the price you pay is enduring unbearable pain."
Aurianna, clutching her aching chest, murmured to herself, "If enduring that pain means becoming stronger, I’ll do my best to endure it."
"Well, kid, it’s not like you have much of a choice," Carol chuckled, her tone laced with amusement.
’I’m gonna make you a monster,’ Carol thought with an evil grin on her face, causing Aurianna to scrunch her face as she stared at Carol, who creepily kept on grinning to herself.
________________
Aurianna diligently performed her push-ups, counting each repetition with determination. "Thirty-two, thirty-three, thirty-four, thirty-five, thirty-six, thirty-seven, thirty-eight, thirty-nine, forty!"
Initially lacking the necessary strength, Aurianna found herself subjected to Carol’s relentless method of breaking her bones, only to rely on her own healing abilities to mend them. Carol’s explanation was simple: it would strengthen her bones, similar to how sharks operate. Just as sharks lose their teeth and grow stronger ones, Aurianna’s arms were broken forty times, and with each healing, her affinity for restorative magic gradually increased. Through Carol’s guidance, she eventually became proficient at healing herself.
As Aurianna reached fifty push-ups, exhaustion washed over her, and she gasped for much-needed breath. The sheen of sweat covering her entire body left her feeling uncomfortable. "I really wish I could take a refreshing bath."
Carol pointed to a nearby pond and suggested, "There’s a pond right over there."
Aurianna couldn’t help but feel fortunate. "How lucky can I get?"
In a rush, Aurianna hastily stripped off her suit and plunged into the pond, relishing the feeling of the cool liquid washing away the grime from her body. However, after a few minutes of blissful immersion, Aurianna’s instincts alerted her that something was amiss. Before she could react, darkness enveloped her, accompanied by an alarming notification.
[ You were killed by a leviathan named: the Crackle. ]
[ the Crackle, a low-tier Leviathan that dwells in ponds, carving out its own domain. It possesses a robust physique, razor-sharp tentacles, formidable teeth, and can reach towering heights of up to 30 meters. ]
"What the fuck?" Aurianna gasped in disbelief as she regained consciousness. Scanning her surroundings, she spotted Carol a few meters away, wearing a sly grin and casually waving her hands. A surge of annoyance coursed through Aurianna as she realized her clothes were magically restored to her body.
"Well, at least I feel fresh," Aurianna muttered with a glare, purposely keeping her distance from Carol. "I really hate that woman."
"She knew there was a monster in the pond and didn’t even bother to tell me," she seethed, her frustration mounting.
"I’m going to give that monster a lesson it won’t forget! It should learn not to mess with a lady’s bath!" Aurianna declared with determination as she strode towards the pond, summoning her hover gun.
"Burst! Burst! Burst!" Aurianna yelled, triggering a series of explosive blasts above the pond. The water churned violently, reaching a boiling point due to the intense blasts.
"I wouldn’t do that if I were you," Carol warned, the lack of concern evident in her voice.
"Ah, no need to worry. There’s no way a water creature can walk on land," Aurianna dismissed Carol’s caution with a carefree smile. However, her expression swiftly changed from casual to serious as she witnessed a colossal hand emerge from the pond, gripping the earth and causing it to rupture.
Suddenly, a grotesque and monstrous creature leaped out of the water, towering over thirty meters in height. It possessed a repulsive appearance, with a massive mouth at its center and two additional mouths on its sides. Its immense hands boasted razor-sharp claws, causing the ground to quake with each step it took in search of the culprit responsible for disturbing its tranquil domain with the explosions. A long tail adorned its back, adorned with numerous tentacles, each measuring over seven feet in length.
"Well... I take back what I said," Aurianna muttered, her confidence dwindling. She swiftly made her way towards Carol, who wore a smirk of amusement. However, before Aurianna could reach her, Carol soared into the sky, observing the unfolding events from above.
"I want to see how she handles this formidable beast," Carol thought to herself, peering down from her vantage point.
"Wait... Where did she go?" Carol wondered aloud, her gaze scanning the surroundings in search of Aurianna’s whereabouts.
Carol then realized that there was something small stuck to her legs, so she bent down to see Aurianna clinging onto her left leg with all her strength.
"Let go, you little brat!" Carol yelled angrily, shaking her legs vigorously in an attempt to free herself.
Aurianna, however, refused to release her hold, her grip tightening with each shake. "Never! You’re the one who caused the monster to attack me!" She stubbornly retorted.
"But you’re the one who provoked it!"Carol shot back, "I said let go!"
"No, no, you’re stronger than the monster, so it won’t harm me if I’m near you. Look at it," Aurianna pointed towards the monster, which seemed to hesitate and emitted a low growl.
"Well, you’re going to have to fight it," Carol said callously. "Not my problem, kid."
"Now, now. I said let go," Carol insisted, and Aurianna’s vision started to blur, causing her to enter a dazed state. In her disoriented state, she released her hold on Carol’s leg, plummeting towards the Crackle.
[ Afflicted with mind control. ]
[ the Crackle is too powerful, please run. ]
Upon hearing the notification, Aurianna snapped out of her daze and found herself hurtling through the air, plummeting directly towards the Crackle. Panic surged within her as she desperately tried to regain control of her body.
Suddenly, the Crackle’s tentacles coiled around her, flinging her across the land with tremendous force. Aurianna crashed onto the ground with a sickening thud, the impact knocking the breath out of her lungs. Bloodied and battered, she struggled to catch her breath.
Aurianna’s entire body throbbed with pain, her mouth aching and head pounding as she locked eyes with the bloodshot gaze of the Crackle. Determined to fight back, she summoned a shotgun, ready to take on the monstrous threat.
But before Aurianna could even squeeze the trigger, the Crackle lunged forward, its jaws gaping wide in a relentless attempt to devour her. Reacting swiftly, Aurianna evaded its deadly assault, but her arm became ensnared in the tentacles of the Crackle, leaving her trapped and vulnerable.
Helplessly suspended in the air, Aurianna could only endure the excruciating torment as the Crackle swung her around. Unfortunately the death wasn’t swift so she had to endure the pain of being chewed alive.

"Why am I back here?" Aurianna wondered aloud, her voice laced with frustration. "I’m supposed to be in another location, because most of the time when I die I appear in another location."
Observing the dire situation from above, Carol offered her pragmatic advice. "If Better to kill the monster if you want peace if not you’ll respawn here over and over again while it kills you," she suggested, her tone laced with a touch of detachment.
Fear coursed through Aurianna’s veins as she watched the Crackle’s relentless approach. Gripping her shotgun tightly, she pointed it towards the approaching menace, her trembling hands betraying her inner turmoil.
"I’m afraid your firearm won’t be of much help in this situation," Carol cautioned.
Aurianna, however, remained undeterred. "Don’t worry, Carol. My guns have got both close and long-range covered," she confidently assured her, before swiftly charging towards the Crackle.
Carol smirked, an amused glint in her eyes. "You won’t understand my words until you face this beast yourself," she taunted, her words tinged with mischief as she continued to observe Aurianna’s reckless charge.
Aurianna conjured multiple floating shotguns around her. "Death magic gunner despair!" Aurianna shouted as a barrage of gunshots erupted, aimed at the Crackle. However, no matter how fiercely she attacked, the creature kept advancing, seemingly unfazed by her onslaught.
When Aurianna examined the spots she had targeted, fear coursed through her.
"Ugh."
"Dammit! My guns aren’t inflicting any damage on it!" Aurianna yelled in frustration, her eyes fixed on the approaching beast, which now began to sprint towards her.
Panic set in as Aurianna sprinted away from the Crackle, its pursuit unyielding. Dodging the lashing tentacles became a game of life and death. In the midst of her frantic escape, she called out to Carol, her voice filled with a mix of fear and desperation.
"Carol, please! There has to be a way to beat this thing!" Aurianna pleaded. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝕨𝕖𝗯𝚗𝚘𝕧𝕖𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝕞
A wry smile played on Carol’s lips as she shouted back, her voice carrying a touch of mischief. "Well, you’ll have to figure it out on your own!"
Aurianna’s mind raced, desperately searching for a solution. "If guns aren’t effective, what about swords?" Aurianna pondered.
With a glimmer of hope, Aurianna addressed the game system, hoping for a favorable response. "System, can I get a sword?"
[ Yes, but obtaining a sword requires 32 quest points for a bronze E-rank sword. The diamond market cannot be accessed during combat. ]
"Can’t you make an exception? Deduct the payment from my quest points," Aurianna pleaded.
[ Fine, you can gain a steam dual blade. ]
"I want it!"
Before her, a magnificent pair of curved swords materialized, perfectly matched and shimmering with steam-powered energy. With the Crackle drawing nearer, Aurianna swiftly pressed a button on the hilt, unleashing a surge of steam that propelled her gracefully into the air.
She immediately raised both of the blades as she was falling down and stabbed it into the Crackle’s body as she rushed down. Unfortunately the blade slipped out of her hands as she was slapped again by the sharp tentacles of the Crackle and was turned into paste.
[ You were killed by the Crackle. ]
Things went on like this for a very long time. Since there was no concept of day and night here, Aurianna would always die when she tried to attack the Crackle and would only injure it a bit, some parts would even heal causing her to pull out her hair in frustration.
Even though she went through all this hardship, every time Aurianna would hear notifications of some of her stats increasing slowly, especially her defense.
During her ninetieth revival she dashed at the Crackle with amazing speed and started to slash it with all her might, severing off every tentacle that came towards her. Every time she died her Mana, HP and Stamina would be recovered, what’s more her skill level would continue to increase.
"I wonder how long have I been fighting this monster?" Aurianna gasped, her breath strained, as she skillfully maneuvered atop a charging tentacle, swiftly making her way towards the monstrous head. With a swift movement, she plunged her blades into the Crackle’s eyes, eliciting a furious roar of agony. Undeterred by its violent thrashing, Aurianna relentlessly continued her onslaught, slashing it until it bleeded heavily.
Summoning five hover guns that hovered in the air around her, Aurianna bellowed, "Burst!" A blinding white light erupted from her guns, sending a devastating blast directly into the Crackle’s back, causing crimson blood to splatter and stain the ground.
Using her blades, Aurianna impaled her foot, anchoring herself to the Crackle’s back. Summoning a sniper gun, she unleashed a barrage of brilliant projectiles that pierced the monster’s flesh, creating gaping holes and eliciting agonized screeches as its tentacles flailed in frantic retaliation.
As the sniper gun vanished, Aurianna swiftly withdrew her blades from her feet, allowing her to heal her legs with a surge of restorative energy. She leaped, dashed, and swerved with skillful agility, evading the lashing tentacles. Yet, despite her nimble efforts, three of the relentless appendages struck her, causing her arm to twist unnaturally and her neck to fracture.
"Aaarrrghhhh!!" Aurianna’s anguished cry filled the air, her lips tightly clenched in pain.
Summoning her inner strength, she commanded, "Heal!" Placing her hand over her battered body, a radiant glow enveloped her, swiftly mending her injuries.
[ You have used heal 5690 times and have gained the passive skill "Heal." Any injuries you sustain can be fully healed as long as you have sufficient Mana. ]
[ Healing skill has increased to level 30. ]
Aurianna’s face twisted into an eerie grin as she surveyed the blood-drenched form of the Crackle. Summoning her hover gun, she unleashed a concentrated beam of light that collided with the creature, but it swiftly shielded itself with its powerful arms.
Growing weary of the ceaseless battle, the Crackle seethed with frustration. No matter how many times it struck down this tenacious human, she would miraculously reappear unscathed and continue her relentless assault. Why couldn’t she simply die? Why couldn’t she just disappear?
In an enraged roar, the Crackle unleashed a beam of intense blue energy from its gaping maw, obliterating Aurianna into nothing but a cloud of dust.
"I’m damn exhausted. I can’t beat this monstrosity. It’s unbelievably resilient plus durable! How long have I been locked in this grueling battle with the Crackle?!" Aurianna whined, her voice filled with frustration.
"Well, you’ve been fighting for a staggering seventeen years," Carol stated.
"What?!" Aurianna gasped in shock.
Her gaze hardened as the Crackle approached once again. "Doesn’t it ever get tired?" she muttered through gritted teeth.
Carol shrugged, a hint of resignation in her voice. "The concept of time doesn’t truly apply here. Even though it may feel like days, well weeks would have passed. Time operates differently in this realm."
"Ugh, I can’t help but wonder how many times I’ve also died," Aurianna grumbled, narrowly dodging an attack from the Crackle only to be crushed by its massive hands.
"You’ve died more than three hundred and forty-five times so far," Carol responded.
Aurianna let out a frustrated yell. "This has to end! I can’t take it anymore!! And Carol, can’t you lend a hand instead of just lounging around? I can’t even complete my main quest because of you!"
"Well, I suppose I’m partly to blame. So I’ll lend you a hand," Carol relented.
Suddenly, Aurianna felt a strange numbness wash over her body, rendering her unable to move. However, she could still witness her own body moving as if under someone else’s control.
[ Inflicted with Carol’s Mind Control. ]
Aurianna pondered her lack of control, reminiscing on the times she voluntarily surrendered it. "Is she controlling me?"
Carol manipulated Aurianna’s body, propelling her towards the monster in a swift dash. With a graceful leap, Aurianna’s body spun through the air, severing every tentacle in its path.
Summoning a sniper gun, Aurianna depleted her remaining mana to obliterate two of the Crackle’s heads with a barrage of high-powered shots.
the Crackle stumbled, howling in agony, before fixing its gaze upon Aurianna, who stood by its side. It opened its maw, preparing to unleash a devastating beam, but before it could, Aurianna summoned a hover gun and unleashed an enormous blast directly into its gaping mouth. The resulting explosion tore the Crackle apart from within.
