Chapter 326: Chapter 263: Kairo

"So how would we make these potions?" Marionett asked, she was very curious about these potions.

"Well, I think it’s quite easy. First, we get a huge pot filled with water then we throw healing magic inside over and over again for a day, then it would have the healing ability. Next, gather the red perioditt fruit and the blue chopper berries and collect their juice, since they give good flavoring and also increase the rate of healing. But the problem is that it doesn’t stay effective for long."

The whole time Wevein gave his explanation he looked confidently at them all. However, as soon as he finished, realizing their gazes remained on him, he shrunk back. It seemed whenever it came to his craft he could forget his anxiety, however as soon as he wasn’t everything returned to normal.

Dielle nodded in understanding, "Ah let me guess, next those who do alchemy would be very much needed. Since they can create small containers that wouldn’t let magic escape it."

Wevein nodded silently.

"So can the alchemy department do it?" Asked Aurianna as she looked at Wevein, and then Marionett.

"It is possible but the problem is how the container would look like," Marionett responded.

"True but then it should keep a small amount of liquid like those perfumes and shouldn’t be easy to break," Wevein added.

Wevein turned to Aurianna, "Saintess if you don’t mind could I join the Alchemy department and design the containers? I’ll make sure each one for each type of potion is different."

"Well I don’t know much about alchemy, so I leave that to the alchemy department to accept you," Aurianna responded halfheartedly.

Marionett turned to Wevein, "Even if you’ll leave that to us, what type of potions are we making apart from healing potions, and how many?"

"Well, I suggest we make the healing potions as I said before and you can use your alchemy to enhance it. Then we can make strength potions, speed potions, attack increase potions, and more. They must all be related to the buffs a healer can give," Wevein responded.

"What would be our brand for the potions?" Hotron asked.

"Brand?" They all asked confused.

"Like a way to identify that it was us who made it. And to also ensure people won’t lie that it’s theirs, or else they will be able to copy it," Hotron explained.

"I haven’t thought about it," Wevein said, having a clueless look on his face.

’Really, you haven’t thought of a brand? To think he had everything figured out besides something so important...’ Deprixon thought to himself disappointedly.

"Hmm... how about this? Our brand would be a Gem insignia, engraved on the potion bottles like the one on the Saintess’s eyes. And to ensure no one steals it we’ll make the potion in a way that if it’s left open for too long it will lose its properties and turn into plain water."

"That’s smart. How will we sell the potions without being identified by the healers? Because if this potion comes out, many healers would despise the producers," Alice asked as she managed the marketing.

"That’s totes easy, just wear a mask to hide our identity and never sell directly inside any kingdom but at the outskirts where there are active adventurers," Avriel answered and everyone nodded in agreement at his idea.

"And we can build transportable shops, and when one is in danger it will automatically teleport you back to the church," Chrome from the technology department suggested with sparkly eyes.

"I leave it to you then," Aurianna said, standing quickly.

She’d had enough of the meeting and it was also extremely boring to her. Of course she understood the importance of it but she felt there was no need or value in her being there.

"Yes, Saintess!" They all responded in unison as Aurianna exited as quickly as possible.

’If I remember correctly Vatium will go missing in three days,’ Aurianna thought as she walked down the halls all alone now.

’I hope he doesn’t show any mercy this time around.’ Aurianna was thinking about how he’d become the Demon King in her original timeline. She had no doubt he suffered greatly but despite that he never attacked the human kingdoms directly. Demons only attacked those who attacked or kidnapped their people.

As she thought about it, Aurianna coincidentally remembered helping people. She frowned at it.

’I used to place myself at risk for people who didn’t do the same for me. My soft heart was my weakness.’

"So do you hate people?" Eva asked as she floated behind Aurianna.

"...Can’t say for sure. It depends but that’s not important right now. We have things to do." Aurianna answered before she walked away. No matter how much she didn’t like it she was in charge of the church. That meant she had responsibilities to fulfill, and she would do them to the best of her ability. That’s what she’d resolved herself to do.

_______

Aurianna was humming to herself as she stacked the documents on the table neatly before drinking some tea.

"Excuse me Aurianna," a clear voice rang out in the office, catching her attention. She turned to see Kairo at the door.

He walked in before sitting on the couch, slightly shifting until he was comfortable.

"What is it?" She questioned.

He gave her a serious look, "Don’t you want to go to school?"

"School? Which school?" Aurianna responded, sounding slightly absent minded.

"I’m talking about the Mystical Academy. They are the best school in the world and are known for raising talents."

Aurianna sighed, "Yes, I do, but unfortunately there’s too much work that needs to be taken care of over here. The whole church is too active. Especially those who were strong healers and the rest who could use buffs were all arranged in the alchemy room. Others are training to get stronger since they’re part of the Paladins and the children are being taught subjects and are also being trained."

Kairo was sitting in silence during her whole talk, focusing intently. Disappointment was written over Aurianna’s face. She truly wanted to go to the Mystical Academy, because she promised her friends. Something he noticed were her eyes. It had been 2 weeks since they had their meeting about finances. Her eyes had bags under them, showing she’d been hard at work.

Aurianna smiled, "So, with all those factors I know I must make myself useful. I am the Saintess after all."

"Wouldn’t it be easier to leave a job like this to me or Dielle or even your subordinates, while you can make connections in the Mystical Academy?" Kairo suggested.

"What are you implying?" Aurianna raised an eyebrow.

"Well it seems like you have a lot on your plate. I know you’re the Saintess and all you’ve done for us but you could use a break, a chance to live a semi-normal life. Being 13 and all."

"Hmm." Aurianna squinted at him. His words seemed genuine and he had a concerned expression but she still had a feeling there was more to it.

"Thanks for the concern. Is there another reason though?"

Kairo leaned back into the couch, scratching his eyebrow slightly. "I guess you could say that. You see, I’ve been eyeing your job for quite some time now. And I consider Dielle as a rival since we’re both Arc Humans and former Head Priests. Yet he gets a better role than me while I’m just as competent if not more."

"Oh, so is there a problem with that?" Aurianna asked coldly as she tilted her head. Her eyes having a piercing glint behind them as she stared him down.

Kairo shook his head quickly, "Not at all. Besides my ambitions and your mental health I believe it would be a good opportunity."

"How so?"

"If you went to the Academy you’d be able to make some good connections there I believe."

"Why can’t I just send someone there?"

"You think that place is a school anyone could enter? Only the talented are allowed! Even though those of any race can be a student there, there’s a certain criteria. For humans, you need to be above level 500 and not older than 21, excel academically, and have some kind of unique power." As Kairo gave his explanation Aurianna listened silently. Perking up at the criteria he mentioned. She was all of the things he’d listed.

Kairo continued on, "And so far you are the only one who fulfills these criteria. That object you use to fight is extremely unique. If you wanted to send children it’d be impossible since most of them here have barely reached level 40. Also the exams would be coming up on the 14th day in March."

"How do you know all this?" Aurianna asked, surprised by his level of knowledge about the school.

"Well I was once a student there."

"Ah okay. That aside, why not send Deprixon then?"

"That guy is way older than he looks. And I don’t believe you’d lose anything in this deal?" As Kairo said this a devious smile sprouted from his face. He was clearly a schemer as everything he’d said so far wasn’t without reason. It was hard for her to deny the opportunity he’d given to her.
