Saintess? Not Anymore! I'd Rather be a Destroyer-Chapter 254 - 240: Kakui
A teenage boy with tan skin, spiky blue hair, and mesmerizing green eyes that had clocks in their pupils was waving excitedly at her. It was Peter Diondraff.
"Wait, when did he become tan?" Aurianna wondered aloud, noticing the change in his appearance. Standing beside Peter was Batholem Hupan, a teenage boy with curly silver hair, brown skin, and striking gray eyes.
Even more noticeable were the swooning ladies around them, their faces flushed as they stared, clearly enamored by the two boys. Aurianna couldn’t help but roll her eyes at the scene. Before she knew it, Peter was holding her hand, beaming with happiness.
"Aurianna! How I missed you!!" Batholem exclaimed, shedding tears of joy as he moved in to hug her. However, he paused, blinking in confusion.
"Ehhh, did you get taller?" he asked, realizing they were now the same height.
"Chi, chi, chi! As I should," Aurianna laughed, poking fun at him. "And it seems you and Peter have grown taller as well!" She grabbed their arms and gave them a playful squeeze.
"Ehh, what are you doing?" Peter asked, his face surpised up as Aurianna continued to squeeze his arm.
"You’ve grown muscular as well, I see!" Aurianna exclaimed, her eyes sparkling with excitement.
"Well, of course! I’ve been training," Batholem chimed in with a serious expression, puffing out his chest a little. "I needed to get stronger!"
"Oh, got a cute lady you’d like to protect?" Aurianna teased. "Or are you trying to impress those girls staring at you?" She nodded toward the swooning crowd of ladies behind them.
"No! It’s not for them!" Batholem quickly replied, his face turning red as he glanced at the onlookers before turning back to Aurianna. "It’s because I want to protect everyone—especially you, Aurianna!"
"No need! I’m strong enough to protect you both!" Aurianna stated with a confident thumbs-up.
’How dense is she?’ Avriel, Saem, Jugi, and Jade thought with blank expressions.
Meanwhile, Hadina, standing quietly at the side, was practically vibrating with excitement. ’I’m so glad master is dense!’ Hadina cheered inwardly.
’You idiots, I’m not dense; I’m just choosing to ignore!’ Aurianna thought angrily, though she kept a cheerful smile.
Peter chuckled, nudging Batholem. "Yeah, sure. But you have been showing off a little, admit it."
Batholem crossed his arms and grumbled, "I’m not showing off... much."
Peter laughed, his grin widening. "Guess we’re all growing up fast, huh?"
"Maybe, but I’m still the best one here!" Aurianna declared smugly, earning an eye-roll from both boys.
Aurianna raised an eyebrow, smirking. "But keep at it. Who knows? Maybe you’ll be strong enough to catch up to me someday." She flexed her arm playfully, though there was a hint of sincerity in her challenge.
Peter snorted. "Good luck with that. No matter how hard we train, you’ll probably still be miles ahead."
Batholem nodded in reluctant agreement. "Yeah, he’s right. You’re on a whole different level."
"I guess so," Aurianna replied with a beautiful smile under her veil, her confidence shining through.
"But seriously," Batholem interjected, frowning slightly, "why didn’t you tell me you were here? I would’ve picked you up at the front gate!"
"Heh, don’t worry. I’m fine. Were you that worried?" Aurianna asked, a cheeky grin on her face.
"I mean, I was," Batholem admitted, his expression softening. "But since you assured me you’d be fine, I had faith."
"Ahem, master," Avriel interrupted, bowing slightly.
Aurianna turned to her with a nod. "Handle the room and ensure everyone gets something to eat. I’ll be spending my afternoon with my friends."
She turned to Hadina, who had been watching quietly from the side. "And, Hadina, you’ll escort me."
Hadina’s previously gloomy face lit up with joy. "Of course, master!" she beamed, practically bouncing with excitement.
"Okay, bye then!" Jugi waved as Avriel took the room keys and began organizing the rest of the group.
Peter extended a hand toward Aurianna with a smile. "Shall we find a seat?"
"Of course," Aurianna replied, slipping her hand into his.
Peter’s cheeks flushed for a moment, his hand still wrapped around Aurianna’s. He glanced down shyly, his usual confidence faltering just a bit. "So squishy so you actually train?" he wondered with a raised eyebrow.
"Ofcourse I do!" Aurianna huffed.
"I’m sure she does Peter," Batholem added, darting a look at Peter.
Together with Batholem and Hadina, they found a cozy spot beneath a beautiful pink mini tree in the building. As they settled in the chairs, a gentle breeze drifted through, scattering a few pink petals around them.
A waiter approached the table, briefly taking their orders before slipping away, only to be replaced moments later by another server who brought them drinks. Aurianna took a sip, enjoying the moment with her friends, unaware of the keen eyes observing her from across the room.
Yelina, seated with another group, kept her gaze on Aurianna, her brow furrowed in thought. ’That girl really survived a Ruin? It’s impossible... How did she manage to defeat the number one hero there?’ she wondered skeptically, her suspicions simmering.
Beside her, Nakin tilted his hat to get a better look at Aurianna. "Is she the one my sister Nae spoke of?" he asked, his rich brown eyes gleaming under the light. A pair of red crosses adorned his pupils, complemented with short purple hair, and he wore a luxurious suit that matched Yelina’s sleek black dress.
Yelina nodded, her expression hardening. "Yes, she is."
"I see," Nakin murmured, casting another glance at Aurianna. "We’ll keep an eye on her, but our main focus remains our mission—to catch the rogue prisoners who escaped from Nervon city."
Yelina scoffed, a hint of amusement creeping into her tone. "Calling that place a ’city’ is generous, don’t you think? It’s more like a promised land but has no affiliated churches."
"It’s still a city," Nakin replied with a smirk. "That’s why so many powers want control over it. But the owner is an Arcane human, so no one dares interfere. The pay for catching criminals they want is good though. My source tells me that the five escaped convicts—four Arc humans and one Grand Human—are now working for the Flonkong Organization."
Yelina’s face twisted in irritation. "Damn that organization! They must know the backgrounds of their new recruits, yet they still hire them."
"Of course they do," came a cold voice from across the table. Kakui, a young man with an unreadable expression, eyed Yelina. He had light gray skin, hollow red eyes marked by green crosses, and his body was adorned with star tattoos, that which only the Starlight race possesses. "The Flonkong Organization thrives on arrogance because they’re powerful. You showed interest in taking them down—until they confronted you, and you backed off, Why?"
