Saintess? Not Anymore! I'd Rather be a Destroyer-Chapter 166 - 152: Memory
"Where am I?" In the midst of awakening, Aurianna found herself in an unfamiliar place. Slowly opening her eyes, she saw a peculiar room with a table adorned with mysterious tubes and unfamiliar technology. On another table there was a collection of large, bubbling beakers and glass cylinders containing vibrant, luminescent liquids.
For some strange reason Aurianna found the sci-fi room familiar. She continued to lol around and noticed that the walls were adorned with strange organs and rocks. The strange atmosphere prompted Aurianna to question, "Another memory?"
A child’s voice could suddenly be heard, breaking the silence. "Mama, mama, are these little ones my sisters?" Aurianna heard a voice of a little girl and looked down to see a young girl staring up at her. The girl appeared as a figure covered in darkness so Aurianna couldn’t tell her exact features.
"Yes, they are. They are going through the development stage and will be born soon," replied a woman standing beside the girl, gesturing towards two fetuses suspended in a large mechanical glass filled with a strange crystal liquid. 𝘧𝘳𝘦ℯ𝓌𝘦𝒷𝘯𝑜𝑣𝘦𝓁.𝒸𝘰𝓂
"So I would have two new sisters that’s great!" The girl beamed and the woman walked away.
"Please hurry and be born," the girl said with a kind voice as she touched the tube.
The scene abruptly shifted, revealing Aurianna’s fetus rapidly growing, and the woman from earlier stood before the table, bewildered and angry.
"What is going wrong? I did all my calculations right. Their biology should be similar to Iris so why weren’t they born with a separate Gemaris or two? How come Iris managed to get two gems but they had to share one?!" The woman yelled in frustration.
"Why are the both of you so imperfect!?" The woman shouted, a mature voice ringing out.
"Why couldn’t you possess two gems like your sister?? I gave you so much Regal blood yet you ended up as failures!"
"Why, why, did I give birth to halflings like you?!!" The woman yelled angrily, she banged on the tube where the two babies flaoted her shadowy face contorted in rage.
As the woman’s barrage of insults continued, her voice got increasingly louder. "Impossible, I’m a great Gemaris, it should’ve been impossible for me to give birth to such lower life forms. I did everything I could so why couldn’t you be a perfect creation like your sister??!!"
She slammed her hand on a table, causing everything to shake. Confusion was plastered across Aurianna’s face as she had no idea of the events the woman was so frustrated about.
’These are actual memories? Impossible! I don’t remember such a thing occurring,’ Aurianna thought as she sank deeper and came across a new scene.
"Does it have to do with power or talent. The chemicals I gave them?"
"I don’t don’t have another gem of a Gemaris. Only the White Gemaris which they shared so what do I do?" the woman wondered.
"That’s it!" The woman beamed, "If they can’t inherit a Gemaris like Iris. I’ll just fuse them with Regal cores. So then I can make both of them with equal strength to their sister!" The woman said with a crazed expression as she began experimenting.
She immediately snapped her fingers and suddenly thousands of rainbow coloured gems floated before her. The woman gathered them into her hands and compressed them till they became two rainbow coloured crystal balls. She walked towards Aurianna and placed the balls into their tube. She used her power to guide the balls into Aurianna and Leila’s mouth causing them to swallow this.
"What is this crazy woman doing?" Aurianna wondered as she felt her chest ache like intensely, even though she was in the body of a child.
"What is this?!" The woman exclaimed as she watched both baby’s bodies pulse with rainbow coloured energy but the light immediately subsided.
"Why is their body rejecting the Regal power? I’m sure I fused their bodies with the cores perfectly!!"
"They are failures, I have to start again!!" The woman declared angrily.
"I’ll create a new child! Someone who wouldn’t be failures like you two. But first I have to take that White Gemaris from you girls," the woman shattered the glasses tube they were in and Aurianna and Leila began to cry loudly.
The woman then grabbed both of them, who were small enough to fit in her palms and opened her mouth widely.
’Wait she’s trying to eat me!!’ Aurianna panicked and she begun to wail loudly.
"Just who is this crazy lady?" She wondered.
"What are you doing mama?" Iris asked as she looked at her mother coldly.
"Iris!" The woman gasped and she closed her mouth.
"What are you going to do with Iris’ sisters?" Iris inquired, casting a cold gaze at the woman.
"They were failures, so I have to make a new batch," the woman replied nervously.
"So they won’t be given birth to?" Iris pressed.
"Unfortunately no, since they are a mistake, failures to be exact. I’ll make a new sister for you. I only need one child after all," the woman explained, with a cunning smole.
"Mother, this would make them the 234th children you’ve killed," Iris stated coldly, causing the woman to shiver.
"Iris, how did you know that?" the woman questioned.
"I can hear everything, Mother," Iris declared coldly as she approached the woman.
"Just go to bed, okay?"
"Ever since I was born, they were near me, so if you kill them, you’ll pay dearly," Iris threatened, an innocent smile making the woman uneasy.
"The woman is trembling," Aurianna noticed, feeling the woman’s unease. However, suddenly Aurianna’s body tightened, and she began to cry loudly along with Leila, catching Iris’s attention, who realized what her mother was doing.
Shadows sprang from the ground, choking and squeezing the woman’s body. One shadow gently took Aurianna and Leila away from the woman’s palms, holding them protectively.
"Iris, please don’t choke your mother," the woman pleaded gently as she looked at the little girl.
"Then you won’t kill them and let them be born?" Iris questioned with her black and purple eyes fixed on the woman.
"But..." the woman tried to oppose, only to have Iris’ shadow grip tighten.
"Mama," Iris tilted her head.
"I understand," the woman submitted in fear, and immediately the shadows left her alone, hovering around Iris, who soon departed.
"That child... That infuriating brat. Just you wait; once I get it, your body will be mine!" the woman yelled angrily before noticing Leila and Aurianna left on the table.
"Seems like you girls would become energy supplements for when I take over Iris’ body," the woman traced her fingers on their cheeks.
"What is this woman saying? And energy supplement?!" Aurianna panicked, realizing, "So she’s my real mother."
"Arghh!" The woman yelled in pain, black blood oozing from her fingers touching Leila and Aurianna.
"Shit, you hurt me!" she winced.
"But how? No one apart from Iris should be able to hurt me," the woman frowned as she stared at both of them with her black crystal eyes.
"This is bad. I have to kill them, but Iris, that crazy child," the woman bit her fingernails in frustration.
"It’s better I place a seal on you to protect me and your sister," the woman said as black chains floated around Aurianna, covering her vision, transporting her to another scene.
"Hehe, I’m so glad you two are okay," Iris giggled as she watched the two babies floating in a glass tube. Numerous smaller tubes pumped substances into their backs.
"Once you’re mature enough, Mother would give birth to both of you," Iris said, rubbing her face on the tube.
"Ahhh, you would be so cute!" Iris squealed.
"I can’t wait to have baby sisters. We would do all sorts of fun stuff and play video games!!" Iris beamed.
"Iris is so lonely, and big brother Gilgamesh is barely around," she said with a sad tone.
"Hmm, your bodies. Are you girls sick?" Iris wondered as she realized Aurianna and Leila were abnormally skinny.
"Do I look sick?" Aurianna wondered, unable to see her body well.
"Iris will give you girls some of her blood so you grow big and strong. Papa said Iris’ blood can heal anything and strengthen it!" Iris declared as she opened the top of Aurianna’s and Leila’s glass tube.
She immediately slit her hand with her nail, and black blood seeped inside the crystal white liquid, turning it black.
"Black blood?!" Aurianna noticed as she saw the liquid change color.
"It feels strangely warm," Aurianna thought as she closed her eyes and slept peacefully.
"You see, you two feel better already. I’ll give you my blood every day!! Till Mother places you in her womb to be born," Iris declared happily.
_______
"Yay, my sisters have finally been born!"
"Oh, mama, are they my sisters?" A beautiful and melodic voice rang out as a blurry figure of a young girl looked down at Aurianna.
"Yes, they are. One is called Aurianna, and the other is Leila," the woman, who had the outburst of anger before, responded with a smile.
"They are so beautiful!!" Iris complimented joyfully.
"As their big sister, you must protect them." Iris nodded, "Don’t worry, Mother, I will."
"Did she lose her memory or something? Why is she acting like this is her first time seeing us?" Aurianna wondered, suspiciously eyeing Iris, whose image was still covered in a dark shadow, as well as her mother, but everyone else could be seen clearly.
"Yay, yay!!" Iris cheered as she skipped around the room.
"Mum, what is that white gem on their chest?" Iris asked, pointing to Aurianna and Leila’s chest.
"This is a Gemaris," the woman said warmly.
"Ehh, what does that mean, mum?" Iris asked, looking confused.
"Well, you have two of them," the woman blurted out with a smile.
’The woman’s hand is trembling,’ Aurianna noticed, feeling it behind her.
"Well, I understand her. That girl’s eyes are scary. The way she looks at all of us like we’re her toys," Aurianna frowned as she watched Iris. Her dark black and purple eyes lacked luster, looking dead and hollow, making Aurianna feel sick.
"They are the White Gemaris," the woman declared.
"Mum, I don’t fully understand all this Gemaris stuff. Can you explain to me?" Iris asked as she climbed onto the woman’s bed.
"Why can’t I hear all of a sudden?" Aurianna wondered. She could see their mouths moving, but she couldn’t hear anything.
After a while of them speaking, Aurianna was able to hear again. "Mum, would I be a bad person like the Black Gemaris?" Iris asked curiously.
"No, you won’t because my daughter is a kind soul," the woman said, pinching Iris’s nose playfully.
"I doubt that with that wry smile she’s giving," Aurianna thought as she looked at the woman.
Soon after some days, it was at night. A strange scent wafted through Aurianna’s nose, and she began to cry, "Smoke??"
Iris barged into the room, picked up Aurianna and Leila in her arms, and dashed off, saying some words, but Aurianna couldn’t hear. After a while of running, Iris bumped into a knight. His features, too, couldn’t be seen by Aurianna.
’If I should guess, we’re also related,’ Aurianna thought as she eyed the man. His golden eyes with a diamond-shaped Gemaris stared at them warmly.
’She’s speaking to him,’ Aurianna thought. ’I can’t hear their conversation again. So frustrating!’
Once they were done speaking, Iris dashed off, and after a while of running, they arrived at the entrance of the luxurious throne room. A man was pierced with swords but exchanged blows with another man before him.
"Dad!!" Iris mumbled as she watched them fight.
Aurianna examined the room and noticed the shadowy woman lying on the ground, bleeding black blood, "So that woman was killed. Even though she seems wicked, she’s willing to risk her life for her husband."
"Noo, Mum," Iris cried.
However, to Aurianna, Iris’s face didn’t look sad on but but rather happy. "Why is she smiling as that woman is dying?" she wondered.
