Saintess? Not Anymore! I'd Rather be a Destroyer-Chapter 127 - 113: Orc Express 6
"I couldn’t care less!" the girl exclaimed, her voice filled with defiance.
"Anna, please cease this behavior!" the woman next to the girl pleaded, her eyes filled with concern as she observed the disapproving gaze of Aurianna, a sense of fear creeping in.
"No, Mom, when someone does something wrong that directly affects you, you have to voice your opinions and assert yourself!" the girl proclaimed firmly, accentuating her point with an emphatic stomp of her foot.
"That troublesome kid is in big trouble," the man sighed wearily.
"Yet another clueless individual who managed to infuriate the princess," the woman sighed, shaking her head in disbelief.
"Aurianna is likely to unleash her wrath upon their entire family," another man chimed in, his expression filled with pity.
However, Aurianna’s unexpected reaction left them utterly dumbfounded, their mouths agape in shock. "Why don’t you enjoy some meat, the bill is on me?" she offered, pointing towards the orc meat vendor.
"You... you’re not going to punish me?" The girl stammered, her voice quivering with nervousness as she gazed at Aurianna.
Aurianna shook her head, a faint smile playing on her lips. "Nah, like I said, I’m in a good mood today. If it were any other day," she paused, her tone turning menacingly dark, "I would have made sure your head spun before you could even utter another word about that nonsense. And I’d take care of that clueless excuse of a mother who couldn’t even teach you basic manners," she added, glaring at the woman who knelt beside the girl, visibly trembling in fear under Aurianna’s intense gaze.
The girl trembled at the weight of Aurianna’s words, fear gripping her heart. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝙬𝙚𝓫𝒏𝓸𝓿𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝙤𝓶
"Oh, Mr. Food Vendor, is my entire meat order ready?" Aurianna turned her attention to the goblin, who was busy cutting pieces of meat to prepare the next batch of delectable fried goodness.
"Yes, Princess, everything is here," the nervous meat vendor goblin replied, his tone and manner shifting as he recognized her royal status. He approached her cautiously, presenting her with a bag.
"Thank you so much," Aurianna exclaimed with delight, her face lighting up as she accepted the generous portion of piping hot meat. "And you can keep the change," she added, handing him the silver coin before making her way onward.
As Aurianna strolled through the bustling market, her brows furrowed at the sheer number of people around. She took comfort in the savory meat that she savored, its flavors helping to alleviate her mood.
Upon noticing Aurianna’s presence, everyone in her vicinity quickly made way, instinctively yielding space for her to pass. They dared not obstruct her path, for they understood the potential consequences that might arise from provoking her. The air of caution and respect permeated the crowd, ensuring that conflict with the princess was to be avoided at all costs.
Suddenly, a handsome young man approached Aurianna, wearing a beaming smile as he presented her with a rose. His short brown hair and cream-colored eyes added to his charm.
"Are you a goddess? Because your beauty is truly out of this world. Too exquisite for mere mortals to behold," he flirtatiously commented with a playful tone.
Aurianna glanced at him, her expression contorting into a frown. Without hesitation, she retorted, "Get lost before I ensure you regret it!"
"Oh, a feisty one. I like that. I can already tell my looks have enchanted you," he responded, a smug look creeping onto his face, oblivious to Aurianna’s souring mood.
"I already said no!" Aurianna yelled in frustration, bewildered by the man’s obliviousness to her lack of interest. How could he not grasp that she wanted him to leave her alone?
Undeterred, the persistent man continued, "But since we’re both too stunning and refined to mingle with the common folk, would you do me the honor of spending the day with me?" He extended the rose toward Aurianna, but she refused to take it.
Aurianna looked him up and down, taking note of his shabby attire and his overall lack of noble appearance. Her displeasure evident, she retorted, "Seriously, what part of you looks even remotely noble?" Her tone dripped with disdain, but the man refused to budge. "Oi, you moron! Quit pestering me and get lost, you disgusting pervert. I’m only nine years old!" Aurianna yelled angrily, causing the man’s face to turn ashen with shock.
"What?!" The man exclaimed, his eyes widening in disbelief. He quickly scanned the surrounding individuals, hoping for confirmation, and received nervous nods in response.
"Oh, I’m terribly sorry! I mistook your age," he stammered, clearly flustered by his earlier assumption.
"I don’t care, just get lost!" Aurianna yelled in annoyance, dismissing him abruptly as she continued indulging in her meaty snack.
"Hehe, well, now that we’ve had this unexpected encounter, why don’t we at least introduce ourselves? I’m Mike!" he said, offering a light bow as he introduced himself.
"I really don’t give a damn!" Aurianna scowled, her eyes fixed on him with an intense glare.
"And my, aren’t you a beautiful child?" the man continued, completely disregarding her previous words. This only deepened the frown lines on Aurianna’s forehead, causing veins to visibly pop.
"Hey, are you even listening? Or do you want a bullet in your head?" Aurianna threatened, her frustration mounting.
"I have absolutely no clue what a bullet is, but judging by the way everyone is pitying me, it must be something dangerous. And I’m far too young to die, especially when I haven’t even come close to achieving my dreams!" the man responded, his tone filled with an odd sense of joy.
As their interaction unfolded, Aurianna’s annoyance grew, wondering how someone could be so oblivious to the gravity of the situation.
"You’re really testing my patience," Aurianna sighed, continuing to walk past him, yet he persisted in following her.
"Oh, I almost forgot! What’s your name?" the man inquired, matching his pace to walk alongside her.
His question reignited Aurianna’s anger, but then she recalled the words Yui had spoken to her earlier, while helping her get ready for the day. "Aurianna, please, when we go to the Orc Express, no killing!" Yui had said with a serious tone, her gaze fixed on Aurianna.
Curiosity piqued, Aurianna questioned, "Why?" as a maid meticulously brushed her hair, preparing her for the day’s events.
"It would ruin the atmosphere," Yui explained, crossing her arms firmly. Aurianna let out an exasperated click of her tongue, clearly not thrilled by the suggestion.
"But seriously, it’s way more satisfying to put an end to the nonsense by eliminating those annoying idiots," Aurianna complained, expressing her preference for a more drastic solution.
"Alright, fine. You can give them a good beating, but absolutely no killing regular folks!" Yui warned Aurianna, her tone serious as she peered at her with expectant eyes, awaiting a satisfactory response.
"Tch, fine," Aurianna grumbled, reluctantly agreeing to Yui’s terms, though still harboring a sense of dissatisfaction.
------------
Aurianna shot a piercing gaze at Mike, who persisted in his relentless pursuit of her name. He seemed determined to push her buttons. In her mind’s eye, she conjured an arsenal of weapons, imagining herself unleashing a hail of bullets to bring him down. The thought brought a mischievous grin to her face, momentarily satisfying her inner frustration.
However, her fleeting joy quickly evaporated when Mike, undeterred, posed the same question again. "Hey, what’s your name?" he inquired, seemingly unfazed by her previous outburst.
A surge of anger coursed through Aurianna, and she couldn’t contain herself any longer. "My name is Aurianna. Are you finally satisfied?!" she yelled at him, her fury palpable. In an attempt to regain composure, she nonchalantly popped a morsel of meat into her mouth.
With an irritating giggle and a smirk, Mike responded, "See, was that so hard?" His lightheartedness grated on her nerves.
"Enough! Now get lost!" Aurianna exclaimed, swatting her hand dismissively in his direction.
"I’m glad I found you, Aurianna," Mike said with a smile, seemingly undeterred by her hostility.
"Who exactly are you?" Aurianna questioned, her expression turning serious as she regarded him coldly. She had a distinct feeling that he had a specific purpose for seeking her out.
"I guess you could say I’m an acquaintance of Vandora," Mike stated playfully, accompanied by a cheeky wink.
Aurianna’s eyes widened upon hearing his words, and a thought raced through her mind. ’Vandora was the code name Vatium used as the Demon King,’ she recalled. With a smirk, she inquired, "So, you claim to be acquainted with my big brother, Vatium?"
Mike’s smile widened, and he casually placed a hat on his head. Extending his hands toward her, he proposed, "Shall we make our way then? He would like to have a conversation with you. Speaking openly here is not an option, as there are prying eyes around." He leaned in, whispering these words into Aurianna’s ear. She nodded in agreement, her gaze scanning the surroundings, noting the curious gazes of both commoners and nobles, as well as the watchful eyes of the knights.
"In that case, let’s get going. I’m eager to see the exquisite necklace you mentioned," Aurianna said with an innocent smile, her true intentions hidden beneath her façade. Sensing her resolve, Mike nodded in affirmation. "Princess, this necklace will leave you in awe!" he exclaimed with an infectious energy.
As Mike looked at Aurianna, a memory resurfaced, recalling Vatium’s instructions. "If she reacts to the name Vandora, bring her along. If not, simply brush it off and walk away," Vatium had told Mike, his image appearing on a nearby screen.
Puzzled by Vatium’s unusual approach, Mike couldn’t help but express his confusion. "Why resort to such an unconventional tactic to speak with your sister?" he asked, seeking clarification on Vatium’s intentions.
"I just want to confirm a certain theory," Vatium said, a smile playing on his lips. Mike couldn’t quite decipher if it was a genuine, happy smile or something else entirely.
Aurianna followed Mike as they made their way toward one of the long carriages. Upon reaching the front door, it swung open, revealing an eager goblin attendant who ushered them inside. They stepped in, greeted by the opulence of a grand living room. Leading the way was a goblin attendant, bowing respectfully and guiding them forward.
As Mike and Aurianna followed, they entered the luxurious expanse of the room. Aurianna caught the scrutinizing gaze of the orc manager, Helua, who inspected her carefully before nodding in acknowledgment. "It is an honor to meet you, Princess Aurianna," Helua greeted with a graceful bow.
Aurianna, raising an eyebrow, couldn’t help but voice her concerns. "Are you all putting too much trust in me? I am still a mere human," she questioned, a hint of skepticism in her tone. "Aren’t you afraid that I might reveal this to my father?" Aurianna’s sharp observation caused the room to fall into a momentary pause, with everyone’s gaze hesitant and uncertain.
Helua, however, met her doubts with unwavering determination. "If Master Vatium believes you to be trustworthy, then we shall believe in him," she replied with conviction, a glimmer of confidence in her eyes. Her response brought a smile to Aurianna’s lips, dispelling the tension that had filled the room.
"I understand. Rest assured, I won’t utter a word to anyone," Aurianna reassured them, placing her finger lightly against her lips and offering a warm smile. Instantly, the collective nervousness and unease dissipated.
Helua chimed in, raising an important point. "What about the insignia on your back? We can temporarily disable it," she suggested, offering a potential solution.
