“It seems I was wrong to send you to try and negotiate with Adam Spencer,” Isabella said with a sigh.

She currently sat in her office, looking at one of the monitors on her desk that displayed a video call she was currently holding with Stacey, who sat in the manager's office of Prima Flemming.”

“I tried to warn you this wouldn’t go well, grandmother,” Stacey replied. 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ𝑤𝑒𝑏𝑛𝘰𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝒸𝑜𝘮

“Yes, but then why didn’t you initially tell me how you tried to break up his relationship with his girlfriend?” Isabella asked.

“Oh please, it’s not like you don’t know,” Stacey replied while rolling her eyes before she continued, “You're the one who sent me to that school to try and recruit her after all.”

“True, but I never told you to interfere with Jenny Downs' personal relationships. There is a reason I had Oxford University send both of them tempting offers after all,” Isabella replied.

“A bit late now, if you were that bothered, you should have stopped me back then,” Stacey replied.

“Perhaps so, but none of us could have anticipated Adam Spencer becoming a major player.”

“Major player, pah,” Stacey scoffed.

“You think I’m wrong?” Isabella asked while raising an eyebrow before adding, “You've always looked down on him because he was poor and in a way he still is; however, the technology he possesses is far more advanced than anything on earth and that makes him dangerous.

I wouldn’t be surprised if his spaceship has the capability to fire on the planet.”

“You think that's possible?” Stacey asked in surprise.

“Why not? We do,” Isabella replied, causing Stacey to swallow hard.

“So he wants us to hand over Robert to him, does he?” Isabella asked as she changed the subject.

“Yes, grandmother,” Stacey replied.

“Idiot boy,” Isabella cursed before asking, “What does he think he’s doing, ignoring my orders by trying to have Emma Hopkins kidnapped? He’s putting the whole family at risk.”

“Robert has always had a high opinion of himself, but I don’t know why he would want to kidnap her,” Stacey remarked.

“Something you both share,” Isabella retorted, making Stacey blush before she stated, “I will have people locate and apprehend him.”

“You plan to hand him over?” Stacey asked in surprise.

“Naturally, I do,” Isabella replied calmly before explaining, “You obviously still fail to comprehend the threat that Adam Spencer poses to not only the five families but the entire world. I would rather have him as an ally than an enemy.

Besides, if I’m correct and those other idiots continue to mess with him, he may do us a favour by severely weakening them, if not eliminating them, just as he demonstrated in the past.”

“Why does it sound like you approved of him and his methods?” Stacey asked.

“Because I do, he was brave enough to negotiate with the five family heads simultaneously after all, something no one else on earth dares to do. Honestly, if you didn’t have such a bad reputation with him, I would have considered marrying you off to him.”

“WHAT!” Stacey yelled in shock.

“Calm down,” Isabella said with a frown.

“Me, marry him?” Stacey asked.

“As I said, it was something I may have considered. But since the two of you have such a bad relationship, it’s lucky he didn't kill you.” Isabella replied, causing Stacey to tuck her head in.

“I advise you to be nothing but polite and courteous to him in the future should the two of you ever meet; he has, after all, shown that he is not above killing. In fact, I have just received reports from our people in the US that indicate he has killed at least ten people since his meeting at Emma Hopkins' office.”

“Ten? It’s been less than a day,” Stacey replied in shock before adding, “Is he some kind of mass murderer?”

“That’s what the other family heads have indeed painted him as,” Isabella replied.

“And you still want to form a friendship with him?” Stacey asked in disbelief.

“He hasn’t killed any of our people,” Isabella said with a smirk.

“What about Robert?”

“Yes, I will have to try and think of a way to save dear Robert. He may be an idiot for not following my instructions, but he’s still family.”

“He mentioned that he would be leaving Roberts' fate up to Emma Hopkins.”

“Did he indeed?” Isabella said thoughtfully, “That could very well save his life then. We are much more likely to reach a business agreement with Emma after all.”

“Might I make a suggestion on that, Lady Fleming?” Charlotte, who had been quiet this entire time, suddenly stated.

“Of course, Charlotte,” Isabella said with a smile.

“Perhaps you could offer to bring Emma Hopkins in on the Earth Project,” Charlotte suggested.

“An interesting idea, Charlotte and one worth considering, well done,” Isabella said with a smile.

“Thank you, Lady Flemming,” Charlotte replied.

Isabella was silent for a few moments as she tapped her desk before saying, “I’m still curious about the relationship between Emma and Adam. I mean, it’s looking more and more likely that he only returned to Earth because of her.”

“He just happened to come back right as she was about to be kidnapped. How can there be such coincidental timing?” Stacey asked.

“For all we know, Robert only sent those kidnappers after hearing about Emma’s meeting with Adam,” Isabella replied.

“Why would he do that, though?” Stacey asked.

“That’s something only he knows and something we will have to ask him once we bring him in,” Isabella replied.

“Lady Flemming,” Charlotte suddenly said.

“Yes, Charlotte?” Isabella replied.

“Turn on BBC News,” Charlotte stated.

Isabella raised an eyebrow in curiosity while doing as Charlotte suggested, before she saw a news report from outside Prima Flemming.

“This is Lucy Lightweave reporting live from the Prima Flemming, where the group that apparently disembarked the strange vehicle have just left the restaurant and are now proceeding towards it.”

After she finished speaking, Lucy quickly approached Adam and the others before asking, “Excuse me, I’m Lucy Lightweave with BBC News, can I have a word?”

“BBC News?” Lorelie asked curiously before looking at Adam for an explanation.

“It’s a news agency here, kind of like newscasts,” Adam explained.

“Ohhhh,” Lorelie said while nodding in understanding before turning back to Lucy and asking, “What would you like to speak to us about?”

“So beautiful,” Lucy said in a shocked voice as she got her first good look at Lorelie.

“Why, thank you,” Lorelie replied with a smile

“Oh, sorry, forgive me,” Lucy said with a slight blush before asking, “You’ve never heard of BBC News?”

“I’m not exactly from around here,” Lorelie replied.

“I guess that explains why I have never heard of someone so beautiful,” Lucy replied before pointing at the shuttle and asking, “Then can you tell me what that is? Eye witness reports claim that it appeared suddenly over Prima Flemming before landing in the car park.”

“That sounds about right,” Rowena replied before giving Lorelie a smirk and asking, “What’s this, Lorelie? Are you already flirting with someone other than our boyfriend?”

“Our boyfriend? As in the same boyfriend?” Lucy asked as her confusion increased.

“That’s correct,” Lorelie replied while ignoring Rowena.

“Errr, right,” Lucy responded before asking, “Can you inform me of who the owner is and what company manufactured it?”

Lorelie and Rowena exchanged looks and considered how to answer when Tephe jumped in and helpfully said, “It’s Adam’s space shuttle, it’s awesome, isn’t it?”

“Adam’s space shuttle?” Lucy repeated, as Lorelie and Rowena looked at Tephe with a sigh.

“What?” Tephe asked.

“What do you mean by space shuttle? And is that man there, Adam?” Lucy asked while pointing at Adam.

“Yup, that’s Adam, my future mate,” Tephe said proudly.

“Mate? You mean you're not friends yet?” Lucy asked.

“Of course, where friends?” Tephe replied while tilting her head in confusion.

“Tephe, mate, here on earth is another way of saying friend,” Emma explained.

“Oh, really?” Tephe replied before adding, “That's confusing.”

“Are these people business acquaintances of yours, Miss Hopkins?” Lucy asked as she looked at Emma.

“That’s correct,” Emma replied simply.

“Are you looking to invest in space exploration, Miss Hopkins?” Lucy asked.

“Not at present,” Emma replied.

“Adam, Adam, I think this lady wants to speak to you,” Tephe said helpfully as she called Adam over.

“More like interview him,” Stacey commented with crossed arms.

“Sorry, but afraid I’m not interested,” Adam stated before he continued towards the shuttle.

As the women followed, Tephe turned back to Lucy and waved while saying, “Sorry.”

“Wait…” Lucy called out only to be ignored and as she watched, she saw a section on the side of the space shuttle open and a ramp deploy that the group walked up.

After the group boarded, everyone in the vicinity and watching the news broadcast saw the shuttle suddenly lift into the air without any obvious sign of thrust before it flew away.

“How remarkable. How can something fly without thrusters?” Isabella asked as she turned the TV off.
