Chapter 1444: Chapter 1439: [Special Episode] Wedding (179)

He was only wrapped in a towel, and through the thin clothes, he could clearly feel her soft body—her bandages hadn’t been removed, and she wasn’t wearing a bra.

A strange impulse surged through his body, and the man’s fingers naturally slipped under her loose sweatshirt, touching the bandages on her skin. He stiffened and quickly pulled back his hand.

Breathing heavily, he released her, and Moses apologized.

"I’m sorry."

The girl’s face was already flushed red, hurriedly adjusting the hem of her clothes that he had pushed up.

"It’s... it’s okay. It’s... it’s late, I... I’ll go back first, you should rest well."

"I’ll walk you out."

"No need." Yu Yao quickly refused, "You just finished bathing, don’t catch a cold."

"I’ll ask Jessica to take you, wait for me a moment."

The man walked into the dressing room and came out wearing a robe shortly after. Yu Yao’s flush hadn’t faded, and she was still a bit uncomfortable, her eyes lowered, feeling somewhat embarrassed to look at him.

"Let’s go."

"Okay."

She replied softly, stepping forward towards the room.

Just as she took a step, her right wrist was caught by him, and then the man’s large hand closed around hers, holding her slender and slightly cool fingers.

Fingertip brushed over fingertip, and half of her arm instantly became numb. The pulse in her palm was beating rapidly as if something was demanding to burst out of her veins.

Holding her hand, Moses stepped out of the room, aware that Jessica and the others were upstairs. Yu Yao’s face turned even redder, but she didn’t retract her fingers.

First, it was due to weakness, second, fear of making him unhappy.

Hands in hand, they walked downstairs, she hung her head like a primary student who made a mistake, afraid to look at people.

Yet, the living room was silent with not a single person there.

"Jessica?"

Moses called out in puzzlement.

No response.

"Butler?"

Still no response.

Yu Yao also raised her face in confusion.

"That’s strange... why is no one here? I’ll... I’ll go check upstairs."

"No need." Moses tightened his grip on her fingers trying to pull away, "They’re not around."

"That’s odd, there were people when I just came down, the butler said you were upstairs, Jessica said you were drinking..." Hearing this, Yu Yao suddenly realized Jessica had played a trick on her.

Now, neither was here, clearly wanting to give them the chance to be alone.

Thinking about being alone in the room just the two of them, she couldn’t help but feel nervous and awkward again.

"Then... I’ll... I’ll call a taxi by myself?"

Even though they were familiar, she was inevitably uncomfortable with the sudden shift in dynamics.

"I’ll drive you."

"No need."

"Wait for me."

The man said authoritatively, releasing her and turning to stride upstairs.

Watching him disappear on the stairs, Yu Yao raised her right hand to look at her fingers, then touched her lips where he kissed, still feeling dazed, only finding everything seeming unreal like a dream.

While she was still in a stupor, Moses had already dressed and returned downstairs.

"Let’s go!"

As he passed by her, he automatically pulled her palm into his hand again.

"Alright."

Following him out the door, she sat in the passenger seat, fidgeting with her fingers, her heart still racing.

"Seatbelt."

"Oh!"

At his reminder, she remembered about the seatbelt, hurriedly pulling it over, after several attempts managing to buckle it.

Moses glanced sideways, taking her actions into his sight.

"Is this your first time?"
