Run Away After Flirting: Get Lost, Mr. Attorney!-Chapter 132: Why Is He Randomly Assigning Labels to Me?
Summer Nolan heard his words and suddenly felt her heart leap to her throat. She immediately took Elias and left, bringing him to their regular pet hospital for a check-up.
After the examination, the doctor gave them good news: "Congratulations, Elias is about to have puppies. You two need to pay more attention to him these days."
Summer Nolan had a big exclamation mark over her head... Could it be that the father of the pups is Ian Sterling’s dog?
Elias Spencer, on the other hand, was full of question marks. When did his girl get mounted by a male dog?
"Could you have made a mistake? He hasn’t been around other dogs," he said in a deep voice.
"There’s no mistake, you can see the ultrasound yourself. He’s pregnant with about eight pups. Elias is robust and healthy, so he’ll definitely give birth smoothly," the doctor told them.
After leaving the pet hospital, Elias Spencer finally had a reason to say to her, "You should move in for a few days. If he gives birth, I can’t handle it alone."
Summer Nolan looked at the dog on the ground and, feeling uneasy, agreed, "Got it."
"Do you know which dog mounted him?" he asked again in a deep voice.
"Uh... I don’t know, maybe he sneaked out to play and got mounted by another dog," Summer Nolan brushed back her long hair nervously, not daring to tell the truth.
"He also has the right to be a mother, and we’re about to become grandparents, which is also a happy event, isn’t it? Just imagine having so many dogs at home; it would be quite lively, ha... ha..." she laughed stiffly.
"Little puppies are so naughty. Do you remember how many pieces of furniture Elias chewed up when he first came home? How he peed and pooped all over the house? It sounds good, but will you come over to take care of them?" Elias Spencer asked, looking at her.
"I’m their grandma, so of course, I’ll come help take care of them." Since it was partly her responsibility, she was sure to help take care of them.
Elias Spencer was silent for a moment, then decided to move Elias to the villa, where there was more space, and the staff could watch him 24/7. When the puppies grew up, they’d have the garden to frolic in.
Summer Nolan had no choice but to pack her luggage and go to his villa. She only recently found out that he had another villa at The Apex Towers.
In the afternoon, the two went to the pet store and bought a lot of items needed for the puppy deliveries—
-
Monday, morning.
Summer Nolan drove to Summit, and when she got to the elevator, she saw Ian Sterling waiting there. She walked over and greeted him:
"You’re here so early today?"
Ian Sterling, hands behind his back, turned and looked at her with a cold expression, not responding.
Summer Nolan looked at him with a face full of question marks. There were other people standing around as well, which made her slightly embarrassed, but she couldn’t help asking, "What’s wrong with you?"
"Does Attorney Nolan have any business?" Ian Sterling asked in a tone that was very distant and cold.
"...No." She awkwardly uttered the two words. There were too many people here to ask him outright what was wrong. How had she offended him?
Right, that night on Friday, it seemed like he came to the private room. What happened after he arrived? She couldn’t remember anything.
At that moment, Elias Spencer, with one hand in his pants pocket, walked in from outside in a composed and dignified manner and immediately noticed the two of them, raising an eyebrow slightly.
Ian Sterling turned to glance at him, maintaining his calm expression, and didn’t say anything.
Elias Spencer, with a cool demeanor, also didn’t speak to him.
The elevator doors opened on the first floor, and the three of them walked in, standing in a row on the outermost side. With the two ice-cold men there, the atmosphere in the elevator felt a bit oppressive.
Summer Nolan was standing between the two of them, feeling like there were two large mountains on either side of her.
A bit puzzled, she wondered why these two would at least exchange pleasantries when they met before, but today, what was going on?
As the elevator arrived at the top floor, leaving only the three of them inside, Summer Nolan turned to look at Ian Sterling and directly asked, "Mr. Sterling, did I do something to upset you?"
Ian Sterling looked at her with a face of mockery, then turned his head back, saying nothing. Did she still want to deceive him? Did she really think he was easy to deceive?
"Could you just tell me what’s wrong?" Summer Nolan said seriously to him.
"Attorney Nolan, you’d better keep your distance from me from now on. Even I, Ian Sterling, have a reputation to uphold. I can’t be your side piece." He said coldly.
"..." She was even more confused. They were just friends, weren’t they? She never asked him to be a side piece! Why was he randomly imposing a title on this?
On the other side, Elias Spencer’s lips curled slightly; looks like they’re completely done this time...
The elevator doors to the top floor opened, and Ian Sterling quickly walked out.
Summer Nolan frowned at his sudden coldness toward her. How was she supposed to get her hands on his ledger now?
She immediately looked at the man who had just walked out of the elevator and asked in a serious tone, "That night on Friday, Ian Sterling came to the private room, right? Did I do something to offend him?"
"You punished him with three drinks, and twice accidentally spilled wine on his pants," Elias Spencer said in a low voice.
"I wasn’t doing it on purpose, though, was I? He’s being too petty," Summer Nolan mumbled. Maybe she should buy him a pair of pants after work and offer him an apology?
"He’s indeed a bit petty. Let’s go, don’t talk about private matters during work hours."
Elias Spencer said as he lightly patted her rear, Summer Nolan stared at him in shock. Facing the front desk like that, the two secretaries were even watching them—
The secretaries at Summit suddenly saw Attorney Spencer pat Attorney Nolan’s rear and were surprised, their mouths agape. What on earth was their relationship?
As Summer Nolan walked into the lobby, she noticed the secretaries were looking at her in a weird way and frowned; did they really see what just happened?
Once inside the meeting room, she quickly pinned the man against the door, one hand leaning beside him, and sternly warned him:
"You better watch it. Don’t touch me like that in front of others, and don’t expose our relationship, got it?!"
Elias Spencer wrapped his arms around her waist, wearing an expression of innocent mischief and replied, "Got it, I’ll touch you when no one’s around..."
"Not even when no one’s around! Let go, if you keep this up, I won’t go over to take care of Elias." She tugged at his hands, not joking.
"We just slept together the other night, and now you’re denying it so quickly?" he pinched her cheeks with his thumb and forefinger, snorting coldly.
Summer Nolan looked at this man, he truly was an exasperating troublemaker; even when she didn’t want to deal with him anymore, she couldn’t help but sleep with him again.
-
After work in the afternoon, Elias Spencer had a social engagement. Standing up from his chair, he told her:
"You go home first and keep Elias company. He just moved to the villa and isn’t familiar with the place or the people, he’s bound to be anxious. I’ll come back early after the engagement."
"...Okay." Summer Nolan responded, not telling him about planning to buy pants for Ian Sterling to make amends. She thought it was only about getting his pants dirty, and an apology might do the trick.
She hadn’t gotten her revenge; she couldn’t afford to upset Ian Sterling.
After they went downstairs, they each got into their cars and left the building. Summer Nolan went directly to a bustling street and bought a pair of black dress pants from a high-end menswear store.
Ian Sterling’s waist size was about the same as Elias Spencer’s.
After buying them, she called the man, but it was hung up after just one ring. She called again—
At this moment, Ian Sterling was in a lively bar with a few friends drinking, and there was even a pretty girl sitting next to him. He never used to have girls accompany him before.
When the phone rang again, he glanced at it and smiled. What did she mean by this? Did she want him to keep pursuing her and be her side piece?
